The people are what made this hotel wonderful .. they truly were so kind and never said no just found out a solution for us ! The cinnamon rolls for breakfast were the best we have EVER had!

I spent 3 nights in this hotel on a vacation trip to Oaxaca. The hotel is very close to the historic center of the city. The staff is very welcoming, with a person at the door at all times who actually knows your name. Breakfast is free, limited but very tasty options. The rooms are in modern style, with bare floors and minimalist furniture. Bed was comfortable, bathroom clean with a good shower and hot water. I would have liked more towel racks, but that is a minimal issue. There was a beautiful terrace with bar, you can see a great view of the city form it especially at night. The pool was nice, but we did not try it. They have available massage therapy, excursions. We had a free dinner which was quite good. Overall a little expensive but worth the money, especially for the staff (thanks Sabino!) and overall relaxing mood of the place.

We had a lovely stay at Hotel Escondido Oaxaca. The service is outstanding, and the hotel, though small, is designed with beautiful public spaces to relax: with a cup of coffee in the courtyard, take in sun by the rooftop pool, or sip a cocktail at the rooftop bar. The room design is simple and elegant. And the location is perfect, close by the city center and main shopping areas. We could not have been happier with our choice!

The breakfast is quite nice and the cafe in which it is served also serves a very good lunch (we did not eat dinner there). There are also a small rooftop bar and pool. Due to the topography in which it is located, our room (numero 1) was a bit odd, although quite comfortable. Part of the room is below street level, so it does not have conventional windows. It makes up for this, however, with a large skylight. In general, the room could use more light, particularly in the bathroom (shaving was a bit of a challenge). All in all, we'd definitely recommend Escondido.

My husband and I loved this hotel. When you step into the hotel from the busy city, you are suddenly in a peaceful, relaxing oasis. The rooftop terrace is a wonderful place to watch the sunset and enjoy some guacamole and cervezas. The staff was so friendly and helpful.

The best part of this hotel is the staff. They couldn’t do enough to make us comfortable. They were super helpful with reservations. The hotel has a cool vibe with an awesome design. The location was perfect; we walked everywhere while exploring the city. Downside includes the noisy traffic. Even with earplugs that were provided, it didn’t help especially in the morning. Breakfast was a continental breakfast; there was an additional charge for items such as omelets or cappuccino. There is no place to store clothing. The closet is tiny and there are no drawers. This could easily be remedied. Huaraches are left in the closet for purchase. No slippers. Outlets were minimal and difficult to access. Rooms tend to be dark. Despite the negatives above, we would stay here again.

I would highly recommend this hotel. We came to Oaxaca for a wedding. My wife and I brought our toddler with us and the staff were very accommodating. The doorman showed our daughter the fish and entertained her when she refused to nap, and they provided a crib for our stay equipped with sheets and pillows. Some things to note - the rooms do not have mini-fridges, but the kitchen staff let us store her milk in their commercial fridge. The pool and upstairs areas are definitely not suitable for mobile children - there are large drop offs and big spaces they can fit through to fall multiple stories. (Most stairs in Oaxaca are similar, without railings). This was fine for us, and we just took turns enjoying the pool during nap time. We stayed in room 2 and were able to enjoy the restaurant for drinks and patio right outside the room after she went to sleep at night while having the comfort of being right outside the door. The location is perfect, it is not on a busy street and is very close walking distance to everything you could want to do in Oaxaca. We felt safe, cared for, and extremely comfortable. Thank you!
