The place is paradisiac. Rooms extremely clean and comfortable. The staff makes you feel at home and are genuinely caring and helpful. You can walk to Tulum ruins on the beach. The restaurant has incredible food. Mexican beach food for breakfast and lunch and Thai for lunch and dinner. Great value for money. You’ll get unforgettable memories. The national park is beautiful to walk and bike. Quiet and evocative.

AMAZING hotel. Recommend for couples and had a truly special getaway with my significant other. (Not the right place for children)

Very intimate, got to know the staff well and you truly feel cared for in your own slice of paradise. Peaceful, quiet, scenic. AMAZING views.

Everyone from the front desk, to the restaurant staff, to the support staff all went above and beyond to ensure we had a good stay.

Highly recommend the massage and romantic dinner on the water for a special evening. Our favorite part was every night with turndown service, they'd leave out hot tea and cookies in your bed. It felt like such a nice way to return to your hotel after a long day.

Food is A+++++, even the breakfast.

I have one major complaint but this is not the hotel's fault. The hotel is situated within a nature preserve which adds to it's beauty. As such, when entering the park you must pass through security. Hotel guests are not supposed to have to pay for entry and the front desk does provide daily wristbands however they are extremely flimsy and fall off easily. You are expected to wear it for the day. If you go to a cenote or any activity, good luck keeping it on. Most of the time as long as I showed my reservation when entering I didn't have a problem.

One night while returning, the security at the entrance to the park was extremely rude to us despite showing our active reservation in the hotel. They refused to let me enter the park unless I paid them.

Given the reputation of SLH, I would expect by now there should be a better system of the entry to the park.

Unfortunately, I felt like I was being treated differently for being a tourist by the entrance agent and police officer which was not an uncommon theme in Tulum, but that's a different story. That specific encounter unfortunately occurred at the end of our trip and did not leave us with a good taste.

Despite that encounter:

Honestly, one of the best hotel stays I've ever had. (And I travel for work)

Highly recommend.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Mezzanine Hotel Tulum. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, however the quality of all the hotel facilities is that of a 2-star hotel. If we had paid $150 per night, I may have been happy with the stay. To be specific about the room. (Room 9) • There are small wardrobes in the rooms but nowhere to put suitcases or other materials one may bring on a multi-night stay. (It may be fine for backpackers.) I wanted to put hats on top of a wardrobe (under 2m high) so I checked to see how clean it was. It was very dirty. I took the cloth I used to clean it to the front desk and they offered to move us to the ‘best room’, which was no better than the one we were in • The water supply is like a campsite. The sinks never had hot water and the shower / bath had a limited amount of hot water, I suppose each room has a small heating tank dedicated to that room. We were told not to drink the water in the room, that was fine as drinking water is provided • One of the sinks was cracked which lead to it leaking all over the floor if it was filled with more than a couple of cm of water. • The ‘hot tub’ never got hot, and doesn’t seem to have a heating system • The A/C looks like it was installed by amateurs, it did work but the internal split system was over the sliding balcony door and condensation dripped into the doorway when the system was running. Other hotel facilities. • When we arrived I needed to use the restroom and was directed to the restroom opposite the reception desk, it was an immediate red flag, you have to enter through an small room that is used as a dumping ground for all sorts of things and the state of the bathroom leaves a lot to be desired. • The restaurant is well positioned with views of the beach and sea, again the staff were helpful and responsive. However, the ‘Thai’ food was not very good, we decided to give it one more try on the second night thinking that we’d ordered the wrong dish but the food was no better. On the second night it started to rain and everyone was moved inside. The inside dining area is appalling and depressing, reminiscent of a factory canteen. I the Jaguar Park is obviously being used to try to make the hotel appear exclusive, in reality it just makes access more difficult. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Martin Williamson.

Hotel and staff were amazing! Very clean, beautiful place. Staff was very friendly and helpful! All of the food and drinks were amazing and the beach is wonderful! Also wonderful spots in the hotel to lay out on beds in or out of the sun if preferred over the beach!

Beware!! 3 things i have to say bad about my trip here. First of all this hotel el paraiso you cannot bring ANY drinks too. They search the taxis and the rental cars EVERYTIME in and out. We were out to diner one night and the police stopped us and searched us the car and our things. We were not even drinking this night and the police said they could smell alcohol lol. Long story short very short I was forced to pay $800.00 American or go to jail for 24 hrs. What you going to do argue with the police? They told me to drive to the nearest 7 11 to bring them cash back. 3rd.. one of the nights we got a parking ticket for parking on sidewalk which was also bull unless you call the sand. The beach just 2 feet off the road a sidewalk. We had to pay $250 American. Tulum is crooked and the cops are bandits. The rental car company also took my deposit because the cops took the license plate when they wrote us the parking ticket. I would suggest to stay away from Tulum period. Why were we searched every single day? Harassed and treated like criminals. Tulum is a mess and the cops and locals will steal and rob you. Other than that we had fun lol

This would have been a five star review had we been given the room we pre-paid for. The only reason we upgraded to something so nice was because it was our honeymoon. Spent almost double the price and they gave us a lower tier room. When brought up, they played it off as though they just changed the decor. Attached are photos of what we paid for versus the room we got. I had even emailed them over a week in advance mentioning our room, my name, and the occasion when setting up the airport transfer. They changed our room but it still was not as nice or large as the room we pre-paid for. The resort was so empty I don’t understand how that was the only option.

look at the photos of the listing. the garden room has a huge porch, partial sea views, larger room with kitchen table, etc. Look at the photo of our “porch” with the plunge pool. There is no view, it was small, no view of the sea. The photos are either extremely misleading or they double booked the room & took our money anyway. Again, the only reason we decided to spend extra was because it was for our honeymoon :(

Otherwise, the hotel is gorgeous, restaurant staff was amazing and friendly, the food was so delicious. We liked how quiet it was. There is no swimmable beach but you can walk to a sister property a few minutes down the road.

Had we been provided the room we paid for, I would have given this property 5 stars and recommendations to my friends also traveling to Tulum in the upcoming months but it feels a bit dishonest and icky unfortunately.

Our stay was awesome. We were fortunate to be upgraded to the penthouse room with a plunge pool. The view, the service, the food-all 10/10! Something to consider: The hotel is in the Parque Jaguar. This means the hotel feels super safe with access checkpoints, but it is limiting in what you can bring to your room, as well as the fee the access the parque daily.

This was on the higher end of what we’ve ever paid for a hotel, but we were not disappointed with our choice. The property truly goes above and beyond to create a luxurious experience. The entire hotel is beautiful, the rooms are exceptionally comfortable, and the staff is very friendly and accommodating.

We stayed in a partial sea-view room with a plunge pool and ended up using the pool far more than expected. The cabanas by the water were also extremely relaxing and beautiful. Getting to nearby beaches was easy thanks to the free shuttles running along the road, or you can simply rent a bike from the front desk.

Just be prepared to pay the park’s entrance fee on your first visit (cash required); afterward, the hotel provides bracelets that allow you to come and go freely each day. One of the best perks of staying inside the park is the peace and quiet…you’re not surrounded by loud music or nearby parties. Quiet hours begin at 10 PM, which suited us perfectly.

Mi Amor Hotel completely exceeded my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was blown away by how warm, friendly, and genuinely caring the entire staff is. Everyone — from the bartenders to the managers to the housekeeping team — goes out of their way to make you feel welcomed and appreciated. Their kindness isn’t just good service; it’s truly heartfelt.

The location is absolutely perfect, tucked along the beautiful Tulum coastline with stunning views and a relaxing, romantic vibe. Whether you’re lounging by the pool, enjoying a cocktail, or heading out to explore, you’re always surrounded by beauty and great energy.

If you’re looking for a place where you’ll feel taken care of, valued, and completely at peace, Mi Amor is the place. I can’t recommend it enough — already looking forward to my next stay! 💙🌴

We returned to Mezzanine for the second time after an amazing experience last year. Both times we stayed in the penthouse suites with private plunge pool. The rooms are large and have all the comforts you need for a relaxing and romantic getaway. We stayed three nights and each evening were able to enjoy the sunset from our balcony, enjoy our plunge pool as a hottub (they heat it in the evenings) and enjoy meals on our balcony. The restaurant is some of the best Thai food we have had (get the cashew shrimp). They also serve a wonderful breakfast and beach menu during the day. Happy hour and the cocktail menu are so well done. The bartenders and servers are always friendly and make great recommendations and drinks! Special thanks to Jacqueline, David, Wilson, Andy, Cande and all the Mezzanine staff who made our few days away so enjoyable!
