Soviet built hotel. You know what to expect. Outdated rooms, curtains that fail to cover the window and are too thin to block light, pretty hard beds and 'interesting' lifts that are strangely shaped and move rather rapidly.

All in all a great experience from another time. Quiet rooms and a Top location. Worth staying at if you can get at a cheap price.

The building obviously dated from the old Soviet age and it was quite a nostalgic experience to stay there.

Definitely a NO GO! Barely a star for 2024 if you can avoid staying here do so. Nothing changed for the past 30 years in this place. Smelly, dark, dirty, depressing place. It's central and yes that's the only good thing about it but so are other hotels in the area. on the front is advertised it has 4 stars, yes Moldavian soviet stars maybe. I'm pretty sure they still have the listening devices hidden behind the the wall paper. as it's located next to the Moldavian ministry of justice, and close to the old KGB run ministries. flimsy door knobs, broken old mattress on the bed.

I usually do not post poor reviews but I think - in this particular case - travellers might be forewarned. If you like Soviet era hotels, this is worth a night but it has definitely aged, the carpet in the room and hallways were not clean, the bed definitely sagged, and the bath towel was a hand towel. Service was fine but unremarkable - I suppose people can occasionally overlook calling the airport taxi after you make arrangements. But try it for a different experience … no harm done and it makes for a story.

The only positive side about the hotel is its location and that wife works well. Other than that it’s just a typical Soviet hotel. Everything is outdated, old and dirty, ac doesn’t work, not tea, no coffee in rooms, no drinkable water in rooms. If it was a two star hotel it would have make sense, but not 4.

After taking a night bus from Kyiv to Chisinau, I tried to check in in the morning and they let me in without any problems. The interior is old, but the location is in the center of the city, and the price for a twin bed was about 7,400 yen, so I think it was good value for money. The negative points were that the Wi-Fi was weak and there were no small amenities.
