Riva by Aycon Hotel in Petrovac

We spent a lovely week at Hotel Riva in Petrovac at the end of June, beginning of July, having booked through Easyjet holidays. The transfer to and from Tivat airport was smooth, and very easy.

The greatest asset of any hotel, bar or restaurant or any organisation for that matter, engaged in hospitality is the staff. Happy staff, happy clients. The staff at Hotel Riva from the moment that we arrived to the moment we left were excellent. Everyone seemed happy to work at the hotel, they were always helpful, polite, friendly and incredibly courteous, all of which enhanced the enjoyment of our holiday to Petrovac.

The reception staff helped by booking a hire car for us for one day, which was just one example of how helpful they were. Right through from the reception staff, to the restaurant team, to the staff working on the beach serving drinks and food, were excellent.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Riva, a modern, well appointed small to medium sized hotel with very good amenities with a location right on the sea front and promenade. We also enjoyed our daily breakfast, dined in the hotel restaurant on two occasions and relaxed on the hotels section of the beach on four occasions.

Walking into the hotel in the hot midday sun we were greeted by the cooling air of the hotels air conditioning and relaxed on the balcony of our room most evenings.

The restaurant, which reserves tables in the evening 'beach side' for hotel guests, is lovely. The service is excellent and the food was lovely, and of all the meals that we enjoyed during our stay in Petrovac, the food at the hotel was the best.

We'd happily visit Hotel Riva again, and I'm sure there's so much more that I could write, but the highlight is how relaxed and comfortable the hotel staff made our stay.

Lovely hotel and staff. All the staff very kind and helpful. We stayed in one of the sea view rooms which was a lovely view but unfortunately there was live music in one of the bars on the front which went on till 1am. The hotel staff were good tho and moved us to another room on the last night as we had a very early pick up to go home.

If there were more stars to give I would. Staff were exceptional. Lovely room. Easy access right down to their private part of the beach. You could reserve sun loungers and beach towels were supplied. A very good selection of food for breakfast. Ate there ever night as well as meals were excellent.
Would definitely go back again and recommend to everyone. Thank you

Visiting Petrovac for the day and found this lovely restaurant belonging to the Hotel Riva.
Beautiful location with great views under shade - I stopped here as they were advertising Gluten Free pizza and pasta 👏👏 hooray 🥳
I had the Margarita pizza and it was delicious - the best I’ve had and my husband had a local lamb dish cooked in a pot which he also really enjoyed.
The waiter was lovely and I went into the hotel to use the restroom and it was very well appointed and very clean.
This is where I would definitely recommend to visit if you go to Petrovac.

BEACH RENTAL/FOOD REVIEW ONLY: We did not stay at this hotel.

RENTALS: We only dropped by to rent beach chairs for the day ($28 USD/€25 EUR) for two comfy chairs and umbrella. They don’t pack the chairs in like in Budva. Plenty of space and enjoyable.

BEACH: The beach is clean and comfortable.

SERVICE: They serve you food/drink on the beach and our server was wonderful. He checked on us multiple times. Continued to top up our ice bucket. Probably the best service we’ve had in Montenegro. We were able to truly relax and enjoy ourselves!

FOOD: Ordered the Riva Burger (€17) came with a few fries. It was good- maybe slightly undercooked. Also ordered the Caesar Salad- nice size and very good (€16)!

DRINKS: Fair price and delicious! Hugo/Aperol Spritz were €8.50. Large mineral water €4.50.

We had dinner at the restaurant of Hotel Riva in Petrovac and were truly satisfied. We ordered a pizza and a plate of shrimp spaghetti, both were very good. The shrimp spaghetti was absolutely delicious. The shrimp were incredibly tender, fresh, and of excellent quality, perfectly cooked. The service was excellent.
Our waiter Lazar was very kind, professional, and attentive throughout the evening, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The prices were very reasonable, especially considering the high quality of both the food and the service. We definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Petrovac. We’ll certainly be back!

We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Riva in Petrovac. The hotel is beautiful, and the cleanliness is absolutely spotless. All the staff were kind, helpful, and always made us feel welcome. The food was excellent and of very high quality. We tried many different dishes, and even though Petrovac offers plenty of restaurants, we always came back for dinner at the hotel – it was simply that good (hotel guests also receive 10% off meals). Breakfast had everything you could wish for, including freshly made omelets prepared to your liking. Sunbeds on the beach need to be reserved a day in advance, with a cost of €15 (50% off for hotel guests). They are kept reserved until noon, which is very convenient. The only downside is that the beach itself can get very crowded – for this reason, September is probably the best time to visit Petrovac. This is truly a boutique hotel where you feel like a valued guest and not just a number. The owner, Peter, often came to chat with us, which made us feel appreciated. On the beach, we enjoyed fruit and drinks several times, with attentive service from the staff. If you are planning a visit to Petrovac, I highly recommend staying at Hotel Riva – it made our holiday truly memorable.

Our experience with this hotel was perfect, very comfortable and big beach chairs litteraly two steps from the watter, distance from other people. Even if in the busyest period somehow you don’t feel there is to meny people if you stay at hotel beach. Next to us was public beach, lots of people, I realy don’t recomend you experience that. So I would say deffinitely take the hotel beach chairs. Watter was very fresh and clean, perfect for a nice swim, great view, staff of hotel very nice and helpful with everything you needed. Rooms are new and with plenty of space, bed comfortable. We ate quite some times at hotel, good food, restaurant is next to the beach, wonderful views. There is promenade next to hotel for coisy strolling in the evening, plenty of ice cream places, restaurants, cocktails, live romantic music. So you actualy don’t need to drive nowhere else, and can just enyoj this little beautiful city. When we arrived to hotel with car we rented at aeroport in Tivat we discovered one of the tyers went flat. Even if car had full coverage of insurance, seems wheels are not included. What is possibility that happens few hours after you get the car? We drove the car litteraly 45 min. Staff of hotel arranged all, mechanic came and fixed a problem almoust immediately, with correct price, so we didn’t need to struggle with that during our vacations. Could be a nightmare. We are so grateful for that.

Amazing hotel! Especially in comparison with the service in Montenegro in general.
The location is perfect - first line, its own excellent beach with very good sun loungers and a cost of 15 euros for guests.
The staff - all wonderful employees, very friendly.
Breakfast - buffet, large selection, you can sit at tables in the restaurant above the beach.
Of the minuses - they do not put drinking water in bottles in the room, but for some reason this is everywhere in Montenegro.

We had such a great time at Hotel Riva in Petrovac. This is our fourth stay and we comming back for a reason!
The location is amazing—right by the sea with beautiful views. The room was super clean and cozy and nice decoreted. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. We also had a few meals at the restaurant and everything was delicious. There are a lot of glutenfree options :) Sunbeds on the beach are €15 for guests, and totally worth it with the excellent beach bar and service. It’s a really lovely place to relax and enjoy the coast! Already looking forward to our next visit! Thanks!
