This was our second visit in eight months, our previous visit having been in September 2025. The location of the hotel is magical, at the entrance of the Bay of Kotor and within easy reach of both Tivat and Dubrovnik airports. Great for cruise liner and super-yacht watching. We hired cars from both airports and found the drives straightforward, even with the land border crossing if coming from Croatia. Be aware these crossings will get busy as the season gets going, but they caused us no problems. The hotel itself is built into the hillside, creating a multi-level complex that works with the landscape rather than dominating it. Views across to Igalo, Topla, Herceg Novi, Portonovi and Rose are great, especially at night. Rooms were tidy and comfortable, with wide beds and easy access to both filtered Hot and Cold water on each landing. The downside is that this will not be a hotel for everyone. If stairs and steep paths present a challenge, then sadly this may not be the place for you. The facilities are good, with all public areas being clean, tidy and well maintained. Staff work hard to keep everything looking its best whilst managing guest interactions with efficiency, engagement and good humour. Guests come from many different countries, which is reflected in the food on offer. What I particularly admire is the effort made to showcase Mediterranean and Montenegrin cuisine. Thankfully there is only a token nod towards burgers, chicken nuggets and chips, although I suppose that keeps the children and less adventurous happy. The draught beer is very good, as are the white, red and rosé wine offerings. Soft drinks and cocktails are abundant. Service in the main restaurant at breakfast, lunch and dinner was consistently excellent. We spent most days walking in the surrounding hills, so only sampled lunch occasionally, but every visit was enjoyable. We also took a mini 3-day break from hotel, driving to Durmitor National Park, the Black Lake and Tata Gorge. This was a comparively easy 3.5 hour drive and we just informed the hotel of our temporary departure. The wider restaurant team deserve recognition, working incredibly hard and contributing greatly to the welcoming atmosphere throughout the hotel. The cake team deserve applause also, with their incredible array of temptations... Of special note, however, should be Dragana's presence in the main La Bahia restaurant. A stunning young woman, she was always immaculately attired and carried herself with an elegance that was impossible to miss, even during the busiest service. Relentlessly hard working with grace and professionalism – and the ability to appear out of thin air, it seemed :-). Her interaction with fellow workers appeared genuine also. Dragana is a tremendous ambassador not only for the hotel, but for Montenegro itself. Some people simply perform a role; others leave a lasting impression. She firmly belongs in the latter category. With her poise, professionalism and natural r

We are here at the moment and although only a few days in we are having an amazing time. From the moment we arrived the staff have been amazing. We had an upgrade on our room so we are closer to the pool and bars. It’s very relaxed, no hustling for sun loungers, food etc and the entertainment team are spot on. You are not forced into any activities but they are great fun (I have just discovered I am crap at shuffleboard lol) the bars offer a great selection of drinks including a lot of brands and there is always something to eat. As some have mentioned, there are steep hills and steps but this helps remove the guilt from overindulging in the bars and restaurants. The place is quite secluded so worth booking a few days trips but so far this has been the most relaxing holiday I’ve been on.

TL;DR A beautiful hotel with spectacular sea views, excellent entertainment, friendly staff, great quality food and drinks, and fantastic excursions around the Bay of Kotor. Perfect for couples looking for a fun and relaxing holiday, but worth noting that the hotel is not suitable for guests with mobility needs due to the large number of steps. Entertainment Firstly, I have to say that the animation team is absolutely incredible at this hotel. They are a multi talented young team who are genuinely friendly and create an amazing atmosphere throughout the resort. There are plenty of activities during the day and an event every evening. We tried archery and music bingo, both of which were great fun. There were also activities such as beach Pilates, face mask making, and lots of activities for children as well. The evening entertainment is second to none. There were live music performances, dance shows, fire shows, and even an orchestra. One evening there was an Addams Family themed dance show, which was so much fun. A huge thank you to the animation team for making this holiday so enjoyable for us. There is no entertainment on Saturdays, so I would recommend booking excursions for that day. Food There is one large buffet style restaurant with plenty of choice, including gluten free options. Every evening there is a different themed menu with changing grill options as well. The food is really good quality. My favourite dish was the herby clams served on Mediterranean night. There is also a food truck by the pool serving burgers, fish fingers, chicken nuggets, fries, ice cream, and sweet treats such as doughnuts during the day. There is also a café by reception which is only closed between midnight and 5am, so you can get food almost any time you like. You can also pick up sandwiches from here if you are going on excursions or have an early flight. Drinks There is a pool bar, beach bar, and an additional bar that opens after 4pm. Wine, beer, and soft drinks are available on tap, and the bartenders can make almost any cocktail you ask for. We did not try the beer, but we tried all three wines and they were really good. They are light wines that are perfect with a meal or for sipping by the pool. The sparkling wine is French sparkling wine, which felt much better quality than the standard Prosecco you often find at all inclusive resorts. The beach bar makes excellent Bloody Marys, which I highly recommend. The hotel also uses quality spirits, including Gordon’s gin and Martini vermouth. Travelling to the hotel We flew into Dubrovnik Airport, which is only around 16 miles from the hotel. The border crossing between Croatia and Montenegro can get extremely busy, but we were lucky both ways and the journey took only 40 minutes on arrival and 35 minutes returning to the airport. However, taxi drivers did tell us that border delays can sometimes take hours, so make sure you leave plenty of time for your return journey. I pre booked our airpo

I’m writing this on our v last evening at the hotel. Great points The view :breath taking The staff :Starting with the friendly welcome received at check in/reception. No queuing, no waiting just seamless. Explanation of the hotel resort, map, room keys and questions answered. Handed over to the staff who took us in the golf buggy plus our luggage to our room. Staff lovely and friendly everywhere always willing to help and wanting you to join in with the activities they have put on for you. They make it as fun as they are able to. Our room: We overlook the Bay of Kotor with our room . Lift easily accessible. Fresh filtered drinking water on all floors. Covered bottles to refill to eco friendly. Beds comfortable. Food: excellent a great choice at every meal. The concept is v good and it really is a lovely hotel, from the little coffee shop open for early / late check in for light bites and hot/cold drinks which is brand new this year - Btw it’s lovely coffee at the hotel Minus points : The hotel is NOT disabled friendly so don’t come here if you have issues with stairs - don’t think, I’ll get round it .. you won’t TV - one English Channel - news that’s it ! Come on guys please get some English spoken tv channels on the tv at least 4-5 you have German, French etc give your UK customers some tv channels for when it’s raining as it does occasionally Now the hotel and ALL activities (other than spa) are outside - nothing indoors so you’re absolutely stuck on a rainy day or when a storm comes in. You still have to get to the restaurant in the rain etc so - somehow that needs to be got around You need to hire a car, use the fairly expensive (but very good) water taxi service, get a taxi to get out and about or book a trip (there are two Tours sold via hotel : I’d totally recommend - the lady who sits by the pool towels sells them - Bay of Kotor all day trip by boat (Petar Boats)- make sure you take a jumpers it’s cold and a Montenegro full day tour inland via Trend Travel - two lovely guys Deano and Micha took us for a 12 hour day around Montenegro this trip is also sold by the lady who sits with the pool towels sells pick up/swap over point Hence only a good It’s not for the want of all the staff who to be honest make this place, they’re lovely and can’t do enough for you - great all inc food (buffet style) The management need a few tweaks and they’re at 5 stars all the way TV channels English ones Courtesy Bus to Herceg Novi and back Indoor entertainment Venue Slopes for disabled access In saying all this we’ve had a fab first visit to Montenegro and will be v sad to leave tomorrow

We stayed at this hotel from 1st May to 8th May 2026. The weather was very up and down during our stay — generally too cold for swimming, and there was often quite a strong wind which made it feel even chillier. We booked a Priority Sea View room. Initially, we were placed in room 2501, which was considerably smaller than my mum and dad’s room, despite us all booking the same room type (we were travelling as two couples). Our first room also had a few odd design choices and issues: the light switch was hidden behind a sliding door, there was no comfortable chair (just a dining chair), and it only had a shower rather than a bath. The shower also leaked. One additional downside of room 2501 was that it was right next to the lift/elevator, so you could hear it throughout the night and early morning, which wasn’t ideal for sleeping. We raised this with reception, and to be fair, they moved us to room 2511, which was much nicer. It was bigger, had a bath, and included the type of chair shown in the online photos. Once we moved rooms, we had no further issues — housekeeping even left us a lovely towel elephant one day, which was a nice touch. Albeit, in both rooms, the curtains also didn’t fully close, so we ended up clipping them together ourselves to block out the light. Food-wise, there is one main buffet restaurant alongside a few snack areas. The buffet food was good overall, and we always found something we liked. However, even though it was only the start of the summer season, on two occasions we couldn’t get a table and had to come back later. That was really inconvenient, especially considering it’s the only dinner restaurant available. The hotel should probably consider introducing dining slots during busier periods. One evening, a couple were sitting in the prime window seats playing backgammon rather than eating, while people were waiting for tables. It wasn’t ideal, and staff didn’t seem to intervene. The staff throughout the hotel were genuinely lovely, and we really can’t fault them. There was also a good selection of both branded and non-branded drinks included. That said, if you’re expecting glamorous cocktails served in fancy glasses, this probably isn’t the place. Most cocktails came in plastic cups or standard wine glasses. For a four-star hotel, it lacked a bit of that extra touch or “wow” factor. On that note, be prepared that the hotel charges extra for quite a lot. The nearest supermarket-style shop for snacks and essentials is in Herceg Novi. The water taxi costs €15 return per person, or €10 one way. We did walk it once, but it took around 1 hour and 10 minutes each way. Because there’s no shop on-site, forgetting anything becomes quite inconvenient unless you’re prepared to pay to travel elsewhere. There are also several additional charges around the resort: * €50 to have the minibar stocked * €20 per day for a cabana-style sunbed * €20 to hire a kayak * €20 deposit for a towel (for the sunbed etc) Ironically, the c

My visit to Montenegro in 2013 was amazing. The country is so beautiful, with its dramatic mountains meeting the clear blue sea. It felt like a hidden gem that was just perfect to explore.

The Hotel & Igalo: Staying at the Iberostar Waves (the Bellevue) was a great experience. The hotel was perfect, with beautiful gardens and right on the beach. I also spent time in Igalo, which has a very interesting atmosphere. It’s famous for its therapeutic mud and the health institute, and walking along the long promenade towards Herceg Novi was one of my favorite things to do. The whole area felt very honest and welcoming.

Visiting Sveti Stefan was a highlight. Even just looking at the island from the coast is world-class—it’s so iconic with its red-roofed stone houses. Walking around the nearby parks and seeing the pink sand beaches was just perfect. It’s easily one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen.

Taking a cruise (or boat tour) around the Bay of Kotor was incredible. Being out on the water is the best way to see the bay. Stopping at places like Our Lady of the Rocks and seeing the old town of Kotor from the sea was a perfect experience. The scale of the mountains around the water is breathtaking.

We loved it!
The hotel was great, clean, well appointed & the food was fantastic!
All the staff were amazing!
Our only gripes, it's very undulating ( which is no problem for us) & there is no local transport into the local town other than water taxi! The transfer time is around 10 minutes, at the cost of 15 euros pp return! (Expensive for us on a pension)
If you just want a relaxing holiday, this hotel is perfect!
We would definitely recommend!

Amazing stay with breathtaking views! The Iberostar Montenegro offers truly stunning scenery that takes your breath away. The food at the main restaurant was incredible, and we loved the snacks available at the pool bar. The staff were absolutely brilliant — couldn’t have been more helpful or friendly. We enjoyed a lovely boat ride taxi to the charming town of Herceg Novi, which was a highlight of our trip. While we didn’t catch the evening entertainment, there were various options every night for those interested. The resort seems more suited to couples, as it didn’t appear to have many activities for children, although they do offer a kids club (we didn’t sample it). The night-time bar was quite small, but very nice and cozy. Overall, a fantastic place for relaxation, wonderful views, and great service. Would highly recommend for couples looking for a peaceful getaway!

We only stayed one night (booked very last minute - same afternoon - due to not being allowed into Bosnia in our Albanian rental car) and it turned out to be the last night of their season!! I could have done without being told that several times by the receptionist as it really wasn't my fault. Nonetheless, having told me that they might not have a room after all, she soon found one. The beds weren't made up (they had already closed half of the hotel so this was understandable) but this was immediately rectified after a quick visit to reception. The room was lovely, the view was incredible, the food was very nice and a great selection. Hard to judge much more as it was October (the pool bar was open but we were the only guests there) and our stay was brief and unplanned. I would happily pay to return here for a proper holiday though. I just think the receptionist could do better by internalising her thoughts about a certain hotel booking website allowing a last minute booking rather than moaning about it to the customer...I had had a long enough day as it was! I suspect that this is not the usual service received here however reading through other reviews.

Excellent small place close to the border of Croatia. We stayed close by and decided to have dinner here. Best choice around here, service is fantastic, wine collection great and food as well. Decent prices too!

Great little restaurant! We had lunch here late June 2017 and it was surprisingly great. Hight quality food (we had meat, I assume fish is as good) great taste and great presentation, like you would expect form a fine restaurant not so common in Montenegro. Waiter was surprisingly professional (not local obviously) and the service was great.
Recommendation!
