Hotel is good. The room was clean and big. Perfect breakfast.

This was the starting hotel for an intrepid group tour. I went into this knowing it wasn’t a 5 star hotel and that was fine. It was clean, comfy beds, bathroom was big enough, and the location is great. The staff were so kind and friendly. There’s a small market next door and decent restaurants nearby. I walked around alone at night and it was completely safe. For what it was and what I was fearing given some reviews, it exceeded my expectations.

The staff was extremely courteous and friendly. Rooms were clean and comfortable, however I had to change rooms due to a nonfunctioning ac. Overall my stay was good

Old tired hotel. Some things don’t work well like the shower head that easily falls off and water temperature fluctuating.

Dirty, rundown, bed bugs. Do not stay here. Intrepid travel needs to find a new starting hotel. Staff was rude. I was sent to an unmade room and then told to wait for it to be cleaned, when I insisted on another room the housekeeper blocked my access to the elevator.

Checked in and was sent to a room that was unmade. Hotel staff resisted giving me another room insisted they could clean it while I waited. They finally gave me another room which was rundown, torn curtains, mini fridge did not work. Was the start of an Intrepid tour & found out the next day one of our group members had bed bug bites.

After a night's sleep, I felt a sore throat the next morning. There was a pungent smell in the room. When I opened the door, the smell was even stronger in the corridor outside. It turned out that the basement was being renovated and painted, and the formaldehyde smell seeped up from the elevator shaft. I asked the front desk to cancel the second night, but they said that it was after the cancellation time and I couldn't cancel it. But my health was more important. I don't know if the paint used in Africa has excessive formaldehyde. In any case, it's safer to change to another one.
