We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with our family of 4 (2 teens). The service was impeccable. Genuinely caring and thoughtful staff. Knowledgeable about the surroundings, food and wines.
We had drinks in the lounge with a roaring fire and there were boardgames to play.
The head-chef is such a great human. Spent time talking to our family about the wildlife and accommodated to our daughters on food.
The rooms were well appointed. Slightly warm for our taste but was easily adjustable.
The surrounding grounds are well kept, with great walking paths. There are bikes on site as well. There is a great pool (1.40) that is heated to 28 degrees. We didn't swim in it as there was a storm, but we would have gladly done so otherwise. The poolhouse allows for changing right next to the pool and in the summer months they serve light snacks there as well.
We will definitely come back!

We stayed at Het Roode Koper for three nights on their package that included extended breakfast and a four-course dinner. We arrived on 12 April after a 14-hour flight from Singapore, jet lagged and with our two young daughters (5 and 2). Despite a large event group of about 100 guests at the time, the staff made sure we were comfortable from the moment we arrived.

Special thanks to Chef Dennis, who went out of his way to make our girls feel welcome and created a truly memorable experience for them. Also to Rita, who took such great care of us at dinner—she made each evening feel special.

The property itself is beautiful, nestled in nature and perfect for a relaxing getaway. While the dining experience leans more towards the formal side, the staff were warm and accommodating, especially considering we had two young kids with us. All three dinners were excellent.

The only minor downside was that the AC unit wasn’t working, but with the cool spring nights, it didn’t really affect our stay.

All in all, a lovely experience that exceeded our expectations—especially thanks to the people who made it feel like home.

Grand place located in a beautiful forest area. The main ‘house’ had different dining and sitting areas, including a bar with a lovely open fire. Apart from the main place there’s also a semi-outside area near the swimming pool. There’s beautiful walks around the place, bicycles for hire and a tennis court. You can even charge your electric car here.
We experienced warm hospitality.
The 6-course meal was truly special; prepared with love and great eye for detail.

If you’re looking for a special experience and you’ve got some money to spend, then you should consider this place.

We ate at the Het Roode Koper Restaurant, and went there for our anniversary. We where one of the first ones there and where looking forward to a lovely meal. The service could have been better. As a lady with a purse, I requested if I could have a chair as to not put my purse on the floor and the server said no, that all the chairs will be busy eventually. Mind you we where the first ones there. Either way, one expects a certain type of service with the price range on this restaurant. The attention was lacking, they did not come by often to see how we were. It was all a bit underwhelming. I food was good but the overall experience was lacking.

A haven of peace and quiet. Excellent kitchen. Michelin star. An immaculate landscape park garden. Truly Dutch. Great high-end family hotel. Plan for a bike trip. And do not forget your swim gear and walking shoes. Or else tennis. And if this is not enough horseback riding. People say living like god in France. Not really,... this is the place.

It's not often that you find a place as truly special as Het Roode Koper. We were traveling from Finland to meet up with our Dutch family and friends, we needed a retreat that was good for families and fur babies and had wonderful food. We found Het Roode Koper and decided to give it a try. All I can say is- WE WILL BE BACK!! In fact, we already booked next summer before we left. The hotel grounds are beautiful, the thatched cottages/chateaus are tucked in the forest, the food was incredible, the pool was refreshing, all of the staff was 100% on it all of the time- our servers made our holiday one that my children will remember forever and we look forward to seeing them again next summer. We have found the home away from home that we have been looking for, this is not a place you only visit once.

I am working in a travel company, who made a booking in Het Roode Koper for July 2023, and I wanted to express my profound disappointment and frustration regarding the booking experience with the establishment. Our company specializes in curating luxurious travel experiences, and we have been in the industry for over two decades. It is with regret that I must convey our dismay at the lack of cooperation and understanding displayed by the management team during a challenging situation. The booking for a delightful getaway in July 2023 had to be canceled due to a sudden illness within the family, a circumstance beyond our control. When initially inquiring about the booking for six individuals, we were provided with specific cancellation conditions. To our astonishment, these conditions changed following the confirmation. Contrary to the information on the website, which cites adherence to the Uniform Conditions for the Hotel and Catering Industry, it appears that the hotel selectively overrides these conditions. What is particularly disconcerting is the inconsistency in communication. Initially, we were informed that the booking could be rescheduled for future dates, only to be later denied this option. In our two decades of operation, we have collaborated with numerous high-end establishments worldwide. Regrettably, the unresponsive and uncooperative attitude displayed by Mrs. Sorensen, who even failed to reply to my email, has been unparalleled. Despite not requiring a deposit upon confirmation, only after the cancellation, we were promptly invoiced for the entire stay (Eur 5 700), including three, four, and five-course dinners for six individuals—a booking we cancelled 14 days in advance. Moreover, the inclusion of travel agency commission in the invoice is both surprising and disappointing. Typically, in the hospitality industry, a professional and customer-oriented approach involves exploring mutually beneficial solutions. This could include offering future stays, discounts on subsequent reservations, or other gestures of goodwill. Unfortunately, we witnessed none of these efforts from the hotel and we understand that they obviously don't appreciate our business. It is regrettable that our initial promotion of the property has left us disheartened, as the cancellation policy appears to be misleading and unfair. A fundamental tenet of hospitality is ensuring guests feel valued and cared for, yet, in this instance, the focus seems to be solely on financial transactions. Sincerely, Tatyana Zhelyazkova

Beautiful location, in the middle of the woods. Hotel rooms very comfortable albeit slightly dated. Staff very welcoming and good at their job. The food is exceptional. We had 2 nights with the 4 course dinner and each course was delicious. The chef is very creative with the terroir yet avoids getting all snobbish like so many Michelin restaurants. We will definitely come back to enjoy the food and cycle around the Veluwe. Highly recommended!

Hotel Het Roode Koper is a top-notch choice for anyone seeking a quiet and beautiful getaway. The hotel is surrounded by beautiful scenery, offering a level of peace that's rare to find. The bikes available for a reasonable fee are a big plus, making exploring the local area easy and enjoyable. The service at the hotel is exceptional. The staff is both friendly and efficient, meeting and exceeding expectations at every turn. The food is also worth mentioning. Each meal is well-prepared and delicious, adding to the overall excellent experience of a stay at Het Roode Koper. In conclusion, Hotel Het Roode Koper provides an excellent stay in a beautiful setting with great service and fantastic food. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable escape.
