Hotel Vossius Vondelpark in Amsterdam

Hotel was ok. location good but it is not very clean.

As someone who has travelled to Amsterdam over five times in the last year at various price points, I have to say that this hotel does not live up to the standard whatsoever, I don’t recommend it at all.
Starting with the pros:
- location is amazing. Right across the street from Vondelpark, and just a few minutes from the museums
- bathroom was good, very very small, but nevertheless it was a fine bathroom
- some of the front desk people were really lovely
- competitive bike rental pricing, and the bikes are fine!

Cons:
- the stinkiest room I’ve ever set foot in. It smelt like straight sewage, and was refused a room change as the hotel was full. Had to keep the door open to the backyard otherwise I’d be marinating in stink
- hotel is really old and definitely needs some rejuvenating
- had a really disgusting stain on my bedsheet, and left it out in the open so that the cleaner would hopefully replace it, they did not. Bath towels were replaced, hand towels were not given.
- one front desk worker is incredibly unhelpful and seems like they’d rather be anywhere else but there. I understand CS work is really tough, perhaps a different line of work.

I’d recommend that if you stay in this hotel, to avoid any rooms on the ground floor if possible.
