Great location only 5 minutes walk from the Cathedral, Mercado dos Lavradores, the seafront and other central locations. Also less than 5 minutes from an Aerobus bus stop in both directions. Current bus price in March 2025 is €6.40. Rooms are ok, mine had 3 single beds and a balcony but no aircon so not sure how hot the rooms would be in high summer. It was fine for me. Not sure if that applies to all the rooms. There is a large terrace on the first floor which gets sun all morning. Breakfast is self service with just a light buffet. Downside is that the WiFi is only available on the first floor. Also no on site parking if you have a hire car. Staff were friendly.

I do not recommend this hotel. The room was in terrible condition, with filth on the walls, a damp stench emanating from the wardrobe, old, worn-out furniture, and a strange odor throughout the hotel. There were no cleaning products in the restroom, no bedding, just an old, dirty bedspread. The receptionist was unfriendly and didn't understand a word of English. The area is supposedly close to the city center, but the supermarket in the same building causes constant noise from deliveries. There's no air conditioning or even a fan, making it impossible to sleep through the night without waking up wet as if you'd just stepped out of the shower. This hotel is terrible.

The location is excellent, convenient for day trips, and there are many restaurants nearby. The hotel breakfast is also good, with delicious fruit.

The room has four beds, is very spacious, and has a balcony with a great view where you can enjoy the sea breeze and watch the sunrise and sunset from the mountaintop – very pleasant.

The front desk and kitchen staff are very friendly, and luggage storage is available.

A very simple, modest and old hotel that has been in need of repair and replacement of equipment for a long time. The rooms facing the street do not have balconies and cars with goods for the store are unloaded early in the morning under the windows of the hotel. The rooms facing the courtyard have balconies, but this is the sunny side (and there are no air conditioners in the windows) and there is a constant hum of ventilation. A very, very simple breakfast and bad coffee.

Interesting hotel, definitely not a really fancy place, but it has it's charm. The design reminds of 70's, I really enjoyed this, because hotels usually are really similar. The room was nice and clean, the private bathroom was okay- hot water and some soap. Hair dryer looked weird, but I didn't try it, probabbly worked fine. Continental breakfast was good, not really variable, but tasty and coffee was good.
Of corse a bit loud in the night, because it is in the centre of Funchal.
To summarize- everything was good and I would recommend this place.
