5/5 Stars
Everything was perfect from start to finish. The staff were friendly, professional, and always willing to help with a smile. The room was spotless, spacious, and very comfortable, with everything needed for a relaxing stay.
The hotel facilities were excellent, and the overall atmosphere was welcoming and relaxing. The location was convenient, and the service exceeded my expectations throughout...
Overall good experience, staff seem lovely, though reception first on checking in felt a little cold.
Advice to use all amenities, book sauna in advance it’s lovely, infra red. I used it after long day in city and hikes - perfect rehabilitating sore muscles. I also booked hot stone massage which was perfect in combinations with sauna after my long morning hike and early start of the day. Ladies from...
Lovely hotel for a 4* although somethings could be improved on: there was no milk in the tea and coffee organiser, and this was not filled up each morning. Not much in the way of toiletries in the barhroom, and and body wash, about it. There were pool towels left on the bed, didn't use them so don't know how they were changed. No in or board, had to pay for the safe.
Location was excellent, restaurants...
Wonderful and modern and clean. Lovely food and great staff at all the bars and waiters make great conversation. Drink is great and so is the lovely big bed. Only negative is the air conditioning which remains static at 18 degrees and blows hot air meaning the balcony needs opened at night to keep room cool.
All I'm all an excellent family hotel.
Very good location for a lot of activities around the hotel, friendly staff that helps you 24/7. At the evening there is a band playing some live music every evening for +- 1,5 hour. Every day there was a snack, fruit, .. that they give for free while they clean your room. Overall a good location, price/quality and I can recommend this place to have a pleasant holiday :) (if you take the room with...
We were upgraded to a room with a sea view. I recommend booking only this room, it is perfect. Own balcony with a sofa.
The hotel was full of pensioners from bus tours. The location is not very good, parking is very expensive (30 euros/night), but because of the view we forgave everything)

Great views and facilities. Staff very friendly and food of good quality. Room was amazing
The staff are just amazing and friendly. Location is within minutes of the town centre. Pool lovely. We had a junior suite on floor 10 so views were wonderful. Totally recommend this place.
Great view of the water yet close to town. The staff couldn’t do enough for you
Stay was ok the breakfast is great with a lot of variety. Customer service was average but not great
Perfect stay!
The spa was nice, the staff is friendly, the food is good and the view is amazing!
We stayed for our honeymoon in Madeira and loved it! The spa amenities, daily breakfast buffet and of course the views were incredible. We rented a car from the front desk and that process was SO easy and seamless. Parking was free and easy. This was the perfect spot for us to easily get on the highways and explore the island of Madeira each day. My husband and I are truly so pleased

Just a lovely relaxing hotel with wonderful gardens
The hotel and staff were wonderful.
We will definitely be returning for another stay ☺️
The hotel is fantastic and we ate in the Italian and Portuguese restaurants. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. Room was great and the hotel picked up from the passports that it was my wife’s birthday and left some bubbles for us when we returned from a Levada walk. Turn left out of hotel and walk 20 mins and some great restaurants got to try Bistrot Des Agnes. Turn right and 25 mins walk...
Clean room, excellent facilities
Well presented clean & comfortable hotel with good facilities - particularly the pools - and beautiful gardens overlooking the Atlantic. Excellent breakfast with lots of choice and 5-6pm Happy Hour is a winner. Overall the staff were so helpful & friendly (just don’t mess with the breakfast team!!).
Mega!

We very much enjoyed our stay here. The views are great, the beds are comfortable and the breakfast buffet has a wide range of choice. However, the reception staff were outstanding – it’s not often that you get excellent service with a sense of humour. They were really exceptional.
Pleasant hotel . Depending on your fitness levels walkable to the centre and also to the Lido area. We were given a room initially but the view was marred by a tree so we asked for a higher floor, they found us room 150 and the views were great. Our room had been updated , however we were disappointed not to find bath robes, it would have been nice to wrap up on a morning to enjoy the views with a...
Booked this hotel rather later than we usually would & based on facilities & previous reviews. Location a little outside the main resort of Funchal so relied on the excellent hotel shuttle bus & the Bolt taxi app for local transport as we didn’t want the hassle of car hire. From check in to check out service was courteous & efficient, including assistance tracking down a mobile phone we had left in...
Very good hotel. Value for money, it was clean all the time. The staff always smiled and were friendly. The services were good enough.
Booked through Love Holidays and loved this hotel. Travelled with my sister and we were given rooms with sea views at the front of the hotel. Rooms were spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Thanks to previous reviews we used the Bt app for transport around as the hotel shuttle to Funchal never worked out with suitable times for us. We also used the app, Get Your Guide, to book activities including...

Excellent hotel with good value. Rooms are clean and modern. Staff is super friendly. Breakfast is varied, changing every day and very tasty. Pool area is clean and well maintained.
We recommend upgrading to the sea view rooms. Ours was in 8th floor and the view from the balcony was amazing.
Full points well deserved, especially for the price compared to others in the area!
Everything about this hotel is wonderful from the check-in process to the check-out process. I recommend the halfboard. The buffets offer something for everyone. There are also very good restaurants and shopping center within walking distance. The hotel offers a free shuttle service to the marina. The staff is very nice and accommodating. This was our first time here but won't be the last time.
Returned last week from a weeks holiday here at the Bia Azul Hotel. Unfortunately, toward the end of the week, my wife slipped on a wet floor just after entering the hotel, crashing to the ground and breaking her leg. Such a sad end to our week away. She will now be immobile for the next 7 weeks or so the doctors have told us.
Apart from that, what I can say about this hotel is that we had nothing...
We had a very pleasant stay at Baia Azul in october. Good breakfast, plenty of choices. It's a five stars from us.The hotel has good size rooms, good facilities like indoor pool, gym, plenty of terraces where you can have your meal or relax.
The location is fantastic with great sea views, close to Funchal, bus stop outside the hotel, restaurants in the proximity. Happy to return next time when in Madeira
I really enjoyed my stay here. We were on the street side of the hotel which I didn’t think I would like but it was fine. Everything is very clean and modern and fancy. Lovely views. Lovely pools. Lovely decor. Beautiful views. Tons of seating and lounges. Nice patios for drinks. Good breakfast buffet. This is truly a hotel for life, offering much better value than those in Hawaii.
The service staff were incredibly friendly, the hotel design was excellent, and the breakfast was plentiful.
The overall pace was quite pleasant, even better than the service efficiency on the main island of Iberia.
Great staff, quiet comfortable rooms
Beds slightly on the firm side and breakfast a little chaotic. Would stay again- excellent value
Great amenities, good location very nice staff. Will recomend to others.
A wonderful hotel with a great location and excellent service. Clean rooms, good breakfasts, and a truly memorable stay.

Staff were lovely but hotel disappointed
My stay at Muthu Raga Madeira Hotel was quite disappointing. Upon arrival, the female staff member at reception was not very friendly or welcoming. I had specifically requested a double bed during my reservation but was given two single beds in a disabled-access room, which I wasn’t happy with.
When I went to reception to raise the issue, I was told a staff member would come to convert the beds into...
We weren't given our room until 4 PM, so we missed a booked tour. The room wasn't the one I had booked.
The reception staff were very unfriendly.
The rooms were nice and spacious with nice balconies on a great location. The rooms could use a renovation and be better cleaned especially in more hidden places like under the bed. The hairdryer overheated easily. The breakfast is good and varied and the staff is the best part of the hotel, super friendly!

Def some good and bad. Beautiful scenery and view in pool area. Good location. Very well maintained. Specious room with lovely view. Breakfast selection was very good.
In general Seemingly upscale however definitely signs of cutting corners.
Sauna hours not convenient.
Room hot even with AC all the way down. Room temp was never comfortable. Very stuffy. Learned this is very common at Pestana hotels...
Staff very friendly and helpful, lots of staff cleaning
Had the best time here, great location, staff was amazing from the front desk to the manager. Pool was great after a long day of exploring
The only slightly unpleasant aspect was the room's air conditioning, which was unable to cool it down.
Great place to spend a week, good links to town centre and local walks along promenade. Buffet and breakfast was excellent.
Could improve communication on facilities, as staff could not supply English language text on the TV (remained in German due to IT problem).
Another brilliant addition to the Pestana brand, which has many great Hotels in Maderia. I booked another stay as soon as I returned home,

Beautiful property, love the breakfast layout, and the staff there are so nice & wholesome! I’ll definitely stay there again if I come back. Thank you Allegro for an awesome accommodation!
The hotel is ideally situated with some great views from the rooftop bar. It has a contemporary feel and there are plenty of shops and restaurants in comfortable walking distance. All the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. I'd like to make a special mention to both Andre and Bruno, who were great conversation from behind the bar. If I come back to Madeira, this will be my first choice.
Room and hotel in general was very clean, breakfast was good and plentiful but could be excellent with the addition of ‘back bacon’. Staff were great with a special mention for Andre who looked after us on the excellent rooftop bar, serving great cocktails.
All front desk, restaurant and house keeping staff were helpful and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast had a wide variety of cooked dishes, cereal, fruit baked goods etc... Location is good - 10 minutes by bus to Old Funchal.
Lovely lovely stay!
Great location with lots of great restaurants around! Staff were all friendly and helpful, breakfast buffet was full of variety and even some fizz included. Really nice touches like sweets in the lobby and places to refill water bottle. Gym and sauna area also great and could make a tea in there after along with the rooftop bar to watch the sunset. Staff around cleaning all day...
Great location, super nice staff, comfortable rooms and good varied buffet breakfast only down side was that the room with ocean view did not have much of a view at all. It was in a lateral at the back and you could only see a little patch in the distance. Not what I was expecting when I booked room with an ocean view.

Rooms are clean but some basic double bedrooms are super small. The bathrooms are nice and big though. Since youre in a tourist hotel, you will pay tourist prices. Staff is sweet. Daily housekeeping is good.

The room was simple but very clean. The hotel restaurant offered delicious banana swordfish and macaroni. The service, in particular, was outstanding. Hotel with a magnificent view, super calm, where you can relax listening to the sea! The breakfast is wonderful!
Although the location on the cliff side was lovely it came with disadvantage s especially for anyone disabled. To get to the (icy cold) but beautiful pool you have to go down 110 steps plus one very steep ramp. Of course going back up after a swim is worse. Worst hotel experience in Madeira, bar none! The room is at most the level of a 200 RMB express hotel in China. We stayed for three days but only provided one bottle of water. Ronaldo fans' dream comes true
The hotel in Ronaldo's hometown, in order to check in before leaving Portugal, I bought a round-trip low-cost flight, which was not cheap. There was an airport bus when I landed, which was quite convenient. The hotel is barely four stars, with accurate self-positioning. If there is no sentimentality, it can even be considered average
Cool Ronaldo/football themed hotel. Staff were excellent, rooms - modern and quiet. The hotel is about 15-20 mins walk to the city life. You get a free ticket to CR7 museum with your stay (worth €5).
The sea view room I stayed in had a first-class view, many C Ronaldo elements, and was close to the C Ronaldo Museum. The staff was very enthusiastic and helped me solve many problems. It was great!!!

Friendly helpful staff and a good breakfast selection help make up for the fact that the hotel is past its prime. Just got back today from Maderia. We stayed in Funchal Design Hotel. I cannot rate this hotel enough. Staff were warm, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and varied. Ido not understand the criticism being given on some reviews, what do they want? The place was exceptionally clean and central to where you need to be / get to. Don't hesitate to book this place you won't regret it.
Due to glitch in the reservation system, the hotel was overbook. We were transported by hotel's shuttle to their other property Hotel Quinta Mirabella. Beautiful hotel with excellent views. Every was perfect there.Little bit further from the centre of Funchal, but the hotel provided the shuttle few times per day. There was also bus stop around the corner - very convenient .
The hotel is very close to the city, therefore you have some traffic noise. But the distance is of course also nice - just view steps and you enter the city center!
Rob's stay at Funchal Design
explored the city of Funchal, went to Porto Moniz, Seixal, and Santana
breakfast was good
the room could use a coffee machine
Enjoyable stay with friends in this lovely city based boutique hotel. Ideally situated for exploring funchal. We used the Hotels courtesy bus one day to take us to their sister hotel, which had amazing views. Room was very comfortable, no complaints. Staff lovely, very attentive and helpful. Breakfast was varied. Would definitely stay again. Thank you to all the staff who made our holiday...
