Fantastic hotel everything is brand new. I've travelled extensively and this place is great . Lacking in quality evening entertainment but I assume this is due to not being very busy . Facilities and staff are great. Room is amazing we have a bathroom each which the Mrs is pleased about ,freestanding roll top bath in hers .Looking forward to returning when things are back to normality and masks aren...
Excellent hotel with loads of facilities. Some of the highlights are: large bedrooms, nice sea view balcony's, large public spaces with comfortable seating, huge swimming pool, rooftop bar and infinity pool.
The service is excellent throughout and there were plenty of staff on hand. The hotel is very clean and well maintained. Bedrooms are beautiful and they make an extra effort for honeymoon guests...
Great hotel. Great views. The room was spacious and had a great view of the pool and ocean. The staff were lovely but the service was slow I must admit. The sky bar was fantastic. The bar downstairs was lovely too, however the ladies room was missing a few things. Like the soap dish and the faucet? But still, a beautiful place!
The best hotel in Madeira. I recommend upgrading to the upper lounge. There you can have a quiet breakfast with a stunning view of the ocean and Funchal. There is a terrace and a small pool.

Everything was great! Thank you
A very, very nice hotel. Ms. Rita at the front desk was very friendly and gave me a great room. The night view at night was also beautiful. You can see the magnificent Atlantic Ocean at the breakfast area. There are many types of breakfast, especially fruits.
The swimming pool was cold, there was no toothpaste , no electric kettle in the room, no complimentary water, the room was outdated, the shower was very old and difficult to use, in all honesty this hotel room was a 2 star at best.
The reception area was indeed a 5 star and that was it.
This hotel is generally ok. But some staff needs training as I had very hard time to program my room key, which receptionist fails to do so 3 times during check in which was really annoying as I arrived to hotel after very long flight.
The location is not only conveniently situated but also offers stunning surroundings that enhance the overall experience. The facility itself is thoughtfully designed, combining modern amenities with a welcoming atmosphere, ensuring that every guest feels comfortable and well-accommodated
It is a nice hotel to stay, it is well-located and a stone’s throw away from the sea. The pool is amazing and the breakfast is nice too.

The hotel is in a great location - near to ocean promenade ( lido complex -15 mins by foot), restaurants , super markets . Breakfast spread was also good so was the views from room both city ans ocean view eoom
The hotel service is very good, the room is very clean, you can put together a big bed or split it into two single beds, the room is large, although the hotel has a long history, it is well maintained, there are indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and there is snorkeling on the sea. The hotel is built by the sea with beautiful scenery. The lower part of the hotel has one side against the cliff, similar...
Thanks to the beautiful and enthusiastic Ms. Erica at the front desk for giving us a perfect experience. Everything was great. The hotel has a great location. There are many delicious restaurants just outside. There are four swimming pools, one of which leads directly to the sea. It's so beautiful ~ Very cost-effective
Good hotel and excellent location. Very good breakfast and pools.
Friendly staff.
Booked on behalf of a friend, feedback was pretty good
I visited this hotel with close friends and all of them were very satisfied. I will definitely come back again.

I was 6 days in this hotel. I booked a total of 2 weeks with half board and I am more than thrilled. Very friendly staff at the reception both in the dining room and in the spa. Everything was very very clean and the food in the restaurant was very tasty, with taste and appearance every day morning and evening. I highly recommend this hotel. Booked as a package tour through the operator
(Trip on July) Nice hotel overall, with very friendly and kind staff helping us whenever needed. They were special events every evenings, which was great. Indeed few things could be better, as the wifi available in rooms and not only in the lobby, but they are going to renovate this hotel entirely for next year. I saw some pictures, and it looks amazing!

This was our second time staying at the Jardins D’Ajuda Suite Hotel and we were not disapointed in the slightest! The rooms were cleaned daily and beds very comfortable! Food was great and staff friendly. We went in July and there were never too many people round the pool which made for a really pleasant experience. If you're wanting a great base to go out and explore what Madeira has to offer, then...
On arrival I was checked in by a very helpful lady. I had not printed my Jet2 Hotel Voucher. She explained to me how to download it from the app and email it to the hotel. Ok the hotel is dated but I felt very comfortable. The reception area was fully open. There is a building site over the road but to be honest the wind noise from the parasols was louder than the building work. In my opinion you...
Were were on group walking holiday with a company. We got rooms on the first floor facing road. Noise was increased by scraping furniture on rooms above etc Receptionist was dour & disinterested. Room was spacious & I thought clean , but I trod on a cockroach on night 4 when room was unlit. Next door ( in our party) had a cockroach too. Different night. We both reported it , to almost no interest...
All areas of the hotel were clean and tidy. Bedroom was spacious and comfortable. Good choice of food at buffet breakfast. Pool areas had plenty of sun-loungers and there is a heated indoor pool. Hotel location is good being a short walk to the coastal paths and frequent bus service to central Funchal.
We read previous reviews and were concerned. The concerns were unfounded. We stayed for 28 days in sea view rooms and loved it. Facilities I.e indoor and outdoor pool, sauna, steam room and weight room were well maintained as were the gardens. Swimming towels were free on production of issued card. Staff were friendly and helpful and room maid service excellent. Breakfasts were varied and substantial...
Hotel corridors with a very old appearance, rooms equipped with very old furniture, the meals served (except breakfast) are only of quality on dates served, the hotel does not have free parking. Breakfast is quality, the indoor pool has a pleasant atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff ready to help.

The waiter's attitude is very good, the hotel is in a good location, the scenery is beautiful, and shopping is very convenient
Located about 5km from the centre but easily accessible by local bus. Airport bus stop directly outside hotel. Decent breakfast. Rooms a little old and some rooms smell musty. Feels a bit like a package holiday hotel but reasonable value for money. First time I’ve ever seen a hotel place an extra charge for using an in-room safe.
Very good hotel! Clean, well located (beach, natural pools, mall) with underground parking and good food. We will definitely book it again.
Stayed here for 2 weeks during Corona times. Very nice, everything is very clean, the staff is friendly and polite. The breakfast was more than sufficient. Comfortable beds and a beautiful pool overlooking the sea.
Very hospitable hotel, service at an excellent level, from reception to room service. The food is amazingly delicious and varied.

Magnificent view of Funchal, mountains and sea. The best 4 course dinner. Outdoor pool in a great location. Spacious open area. Nice people who help to make your holiday memorable with love.
location, friendliness, good facilities, efficiency, etc.
Beautifully located hotel with great views of Funchal and the sea.
Great place to stay in Maderia! The food was really good, if you upgrade to half board you get a 4 course dinner, all of which taste great. Standard breakfast buffet at the hotel, however you can make eggs and bacon to suit any taste. Bonus - happy hour which means one thing! It features indoor and outdoor pools, a gym and a spa. The rooms are nice, nothing special, but you won't spend much time...

My wife and I had a great stay. Perfect location to everything in Funchal.
Wonderful, relaxing hotel.
This was our ninth visit to Hotel Porto Santa Maria and as usual it did not disappoint. The staff are so welcoming and friendly. As usual, nothing's ever to much for them and it's refreshing to see the same faces all around the hotel.

Great location with view of cruise ship harbour, friendly and very helpful staff. Best of Funchal within walking distance. kitchenette facilities in studio room.
Loved everything about it.
I loved the location, close to the Botanical Garden cable car and numerous restaurants, the pool area is lovely too
Happy traveller
Great hotel. Everything was excellent, Wonderful breakfast
Very friendly staff and close to the city centre. Looking forward to a return visit in March.
Great location in the heart of Old Town. Super convenient. Very mixed experience with staff - some we just simply rude. Majority were unfriendly. It is also worth noting, we're in our mid 50's and we seemed to easily be the youngest guests there by a couple of decades! No disrespect intended but we literally felt we were staying in a senior care home. Adults only is great but this was on another level...

The rooms are clean and large. The staff is very nice and helpful. The breakfast selection is first class and the quality is excellent. The pool is nice with a large selection of seats and sun loungers.
Nice staff. Nothing special, but good rooms, good food and a nice (albeit louder) view. The pool and sauna are good, the garage is free. The price-quality ratio is very good!
Overall a good experience. The hotel is nice and the rooms with a balcony and sea view are lovely. The ocean is beautiful at sunrise. The indoor pool is actually only partially covered but water is warm. Outdoor pool lovely, although it was way too cold in early March to use.
Good breakfast. The spa area is a bit small but nice and clean. Staff was generally welcoming. Free parking was great to have
Comfortable. Convenient. Clean, if slightly dusty under beds and in wardrobe . Showers and toilets clean and well maintained although some had hot water problems on final morning. Good place to stay overall with good amenities including spacious lounge . Breakfast spread and selection good .

The room was spacious and comfortable, the breakfast and dinner were great. The location was very good, close to a very good shopping mall, the sea view was very beautiful, and the nearby cliff caves were also worth a visit.
Nothing's unique about this property! Food is good but the selection is poor.
Not a 5-star hotel.
Staff bored of their work, and you can see and feel it. Sometimes arguing and are loud even when guests are around.
Most guests elderly, this hotel is not for younger people.
The food they serve at the restaurantes, except bits of the breakfast, are a joke. Its horrible! Ordered a risotto, but got a soup with hard rice.
At breakfast, the chef making omelettes and eggs, only used...
The view from the balcony and from the pool/dinning section.

We've just returned from a lovely 10 day stay at the Madeira Gardens hotel. An absolutely excellent stay and we would thoroughly recommend staying here. You are about 30 minutes walk out of Funchal centre in the Lido area so be aware of that and it's not a flat walk in or back to the hotel so if you've got mobility issues you might be using the bus that stops right outside the hotel or use taxi's...
Great place to stay in Funcal Madeira. Centrally placed, lots of food options, well presented and very tasty. Half board means one evening meal in the a la carte restaurant, had a lovely evening. Great staff, special mention for Geraldine, or G, the sports...
First thing to say is, i feel harsh giving it a 4/5 review, as we had an excellent holiday. The staff are amazing, this was probably the highlight of the hotel. Zamir, Natasha and Gee were excellent. The staff was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable! Very willing to help! I will definitely be staying at this hotel again!
The best hotel in Funchal. We stayed in 2 more famous places, so the conclusion is clear. Exceptional staff. Very quiet. In the corridors there are water machines, which also have sparkling water (you can fill a bottle from your room). Cool tea in the room. Smart lighting system. But the main advantage: in the city center, very close to the embankment and beautiful central streets. Free parking! We...
Hotel located inside the Plaza Madeira Shopping Mall. Difficult to find as the entrance is through the shopping mall (?) or through the private garage below the shopping mall. We arrived around 1:00 a.m. and received a warm welcome. The receptionist showed us to our room with a smile. In the room, a complimentary bottle of water, coffee, and tea were provided.
The garden is very well maintained, and the restaurant staff is very pleasant.
Parking is easily accessible.
It was a hotel that seemed to have been converted from an old house into a hotel. The rooms and corridors were decorated with a sense of style. The beds were comfortable, and there were two swimming pools, one on the sea side and one on the hill, so they were convenient to use. The breakfast was delicious, and the staff was friendly and nice. If I come to Madeira again, I think I will use this hotel...
We were going on a cruise; we needed a hotel within walking distance of the port. And it exceeded expectations, we love small hotels without scurrying crowds. It is very soulful here: a large room with a window with small glazing and a frame that slides up. A door leading to a terrace. Birds singing - after all, we are in a garden. A bathroom with two sinks and a bath (so tired of uncomfortable showers...
Hotel in the very center of Funchal. Within walking distance of the center with shops and restaurants and transport. In the evening it is pleasant to walk along the embankment. Pools with sea water. Well-groomed territory.
The hotel is well located and accessible to Funchal's public transport network. The breakfast is good and of quality. The rooms are comfortable and clean. As it is an old farm converted into a hotel, there is a country atmosphere that gives it a unique touch.

Spotlessly clean rooms and lovely bed linen. Very helpful staff and a nice ambiance overall. The only criticism we have is breakfast.
