Academy Plaza Hotel in Dublin

Half of the staff are rude and no one seems to have any idea what they’re doing. I had one day when I arrived that I needed to get laundry done, bc I just came from a business trip. I was going to go to a laundromat because I needed my clothes ASAP, but no one could tell me where one was located. So, instead, one of the employees talked me into using the hotel laundry service, and they promised my laundry would be returned the next day. I told them repeatedly that I was leaving Monday morning and needed it back Sunday. When I went down Sunday, I was told there’s no laundry service on Sundays and that my clothes had been sitting in their office since the day before. If they had known what their own services were, I could have done it when I had free time. Now, I’m wasting time and money at a laundromat during my actual vacation. The manager wanted a description of the employee but otherwise they didn’t care. The staff is just not reliable and I wouldn’t trust what the employees say. I wouldn’t stay here again or depend on the staff. I will say the housekeeping is great tho.

Do not stay here, they obviously do not care for their customers. The room was visibly dirty, there were drips and splatters of unknown substances on the wall. The "double" bed comprised of two single beds, which isn't an issue in an of itself, but one was higher off the ground than the other, so they weren't flush with each other. The food was poor, I ordered a pizza which was covered in grease, so much so that it soaked through on to the plate. I raised this issue with the waiter, who said something to the effect of "okay, that's fine" and returned with the full bill, not even an apology after he saw I had only eaten 2 slices of my €15 pizza.

I gave the waiter the benefit of the doubt and decided upon checkout I'd raise both the dirty room and food service issue, but the lady at the desk once again took no interest, apart from a quick sorry (which I suppose was an upgrade from the restaurant)

With the vast array of options in the area, I would definitely look at other hotels as the service is highly unlikely to be as poor as here.
