Santara Wellness Resort in Santa Pola

I stayed here for a month and was very disappointed at the standard of accommodation. TBH it had the feeling of a prison, the furniture was sparse, there was no English TV (not one channel) no WiFi, the bathroom floor was disgusting (see pic) and towels were limited to 1 bath towel and punishable by death if you took it from the rooms. You had to ask for an airer and ironing board. The place is overrun by feral cats who fight throughout the night. I had to laugh that they had to inspect the place before they returned my deposit, everything was only fit for the skip . Evoca are now refurbishing some of the bungalows and planning to shaft the inmates for high rents. Only the desperate and the vulnerable will stay. This review is about the property and owners and not about the staff who are very decent, honest, considerate and deserve 5 stars.

We live in a bungalow here. The accommodation is fine. A nice restaurant but open very limited hours. Other facilities for elderly also limited. Thank goodness for supermarket, helpful reception staff and Malika.

The staff at this resort were very friendly.
Breakfasts were very poor and every morning they ran out of bread, bread rolls or yogurts. Toaster took ages to toast the bread.

This was sold to us as a disabled friendly hotel. It was anything but disabled friendly. The resort was on many levels and getting in and out very challenging. We found out when we arrived that it was not a hotel but a self catering resort.The equipment in the kitchen area was not adequate to prepare a proper meal.

Going out was very difficult as the area was hilly and the local buses were infrequent, 2 a day. Buses to Santa Pola and Alicante not all adapted for wheelchair uses.

It was certainly not worth the money we paid for the 9 days.
