Beautiful and well located hotel. We had a relaxing and great stay.

Staff is sweet and very polite.

They have a wonderful outdoor space with pool and long chairs to enjoy the sun and have a drink.

We stayed on the second floor, in room 05.
The room is spacious, gorgeous and was spotless. The amenities are great, mini bar is generous on beverage selection, smart tv working perfectly and excellent pressure shower.

Although the bedsheets were of good quality the bed itself was uncomfortably soft for us.

Breakfast was absolutely sad, weird selection, no hot items. The buffet was left with barely nothing on the plates, dry leftovers, no refills. It simply lowered the value of the experience, is paradoxical to the whole concept. Get it together.

Overall we will recommend and will most definitely come back.

We spent two nights at the hotel and celebrated our wedding dinner at the L’Etiquette restaurant inside the hotel.

From the very first visit for information, through the communication during the organisation, to the stay and the dinner itself – the whole experience was amazing.

Julie was wonderful to communicate with while planning – thank you!
Aranzazu made our stay and dinner extra special with her incredible eye for detail, care, and the love she put into everything.

The food was excellent (with special attention to allergies – something that is not always easy in Spain, but handled phenomenally here). The location is beautiful, and the staff are truly incredible.
Thank you to everyone at La Serena for a wonderful time. We will definitely be back!

We much enjoyed our stay in this charming boutique hotel which is very well placed for visiting the sights of this lovely old town. Our room - an Urban Independent - was spacious and well maintained. The staff were all friendly and helpful. For us a major plus was the delightful terrace and pool with chairs and sunloungers where we could relax after sightseeing. Happily no competition for these! The hills in Altea are very steep with lots of steps and we were relieved to find that cars can drive right up to the door of La Serena.

Beautiful boutique hotel. Rooms were great, modern and tastefully decorated. Nice location with great views. Close to lots of places to shop and eat. What made the stay perfect was really the staff. Cecile & María J were just great, offered advice and helped with a clothing emergency! Would definitely come back and stay here again!!

A beautiful spot in Altea 👍 We visited the place during Easter with massage and spa and have stayed over a couple of times and it never disappoints you ! Spa, massage and nice rooms. Just a pity that not more people uses the nice restaurant😀👍 Excellent place….

We went to the hotel restaurant for an evening meal and we were most welcomed and waited on beautifully. Our starter and main meal were both delicious, accompanied by great wine choices too. It's a lovely setting and terrace to match We complimented the female chef also. Sorry we didn't catch either of your names. It is a truly beautiful place to eat and stay. Impeccably clean and the design is well thought out too. A really memorable dining experience . Our only regret is that we didn't stay overnight. I would say the hotel needs a sign post from the main road as you don't know of its position. We only came across it by accident. I will definitely book to stay and dine here on my return to Altea for sure, next time, thank you, it's really perfect.

We booked last minute for 5 days in September (and got a discount by booking directly with the hotel) and had a lovely stay but did have to remind ourselves that despite the very chic decor, the hotel is only a three star. We booked an urban deluxe room which was the cheapest - it was really clean and nice decor, but very small and no outdoor area. Does have a private enclosed bathroom though (if you want this level of privacy - unlike the other rooms.) All in all, it was lovely and worked for us, but very much a 3 star hotel and possibly a bit overpriced for that.

Pros - as everyone has said, the location is perfect. 5 mins from old town and 5 mins from the beach. Staff were friendly. The pool area is lovely and relaxing - usually always enough beds to go around.

Cons - the breakfast was cold options only (cereal, small amount of fruit, cheese/meat, small croissants, yoghurt, baguettes, pre cooked boiled eggs and tortilla.) Shame you couldn’t get cooked, fresh eggs. For us, the mattress was too soft and cushiony, and the bed was small. It also rained 2-3 days we were there and there was quite a big leak in the main hallway (that no staff acknowledged) literally dripping down the main stairwell, and we quickly learned there wasn’t really anywhere comfortable to sit and relax that wasn’t in the rain - again meaning you have to go out to find somewhere to sit and read in the poor weather. They did virtually no veggie options on the lunch or dinner menu so had to eat out twice a day.

If you’re looking for a restaurant and are into your food, go to Xef Pirata. Really exceptional tapas!
