Overall had a nice time. The service is attentive and friendly (aside from one of the dinner waitresses who consistently gave us attitude).

The facilities are nice and the views are incredible. The surrounding area is quiet, aside from the construction site next door which produced regular buzz saws.

I won’t be returning until they offer a more diverse menu. They serve 2 menu options per day (food option 1, and slightly less small food option 2) and there are very limited substitutions. How can a market-leading health & wellness hotel, with “personalisation” at its core, be so incredibly limited in its offering? Yes, the ingredients are high quality and the food was beautifully prepared. However if you are looking for extra protein and the only options are “Salmon or Turbot” every meal, that gets old.

Regarding portion sizes, I found myself leaving hungry from most meals, and protein was rarely a priority for whoever creates the menus. It’s clearly designed with weight loss in mind, though for guests who aren’t seeking that, it’s simply not fit for purpose. And even if you want to loose weight, it’s important to prioritise protein, so that part just doesn’t make sense. It’s an obvious thing that would be super easy for them to improve, so it’s perplexing why they don’t seem to offer a wider selection. When I challenged the nutritionist on why there is so little protein in the meals, she said the best solution was to buy protein powder separately and have it between meals. Really? Come on.

I also agree with some of the other reviews that whilst some staff are very knowledgable, others seem to be just salespeople who don’t know anything about what they are selling. This leaves the customer questioning how appropriate certain treatment are for them. For example, when I asked the “therapist” if ozone therapy had any known risks, she said “no, it’s completely safe”. When I challenged her and said there’s plenty of literature out there taking the opposite view, she changed the subject. For anyone unsure, Google it.

The room was very nice. Only issues were the soap dispensers in the shower kept falling off, and the a/c wasn’t working properly.

The hydrotherapy area (sauna, cold plunge, etc.) was “closed for renovations”, so guests are redirected to the basement of a nearby villa that has a small wellness area. The “compensation” was a €100/day credit, however to use the basement sauna they charged €100…

My sense is Sha is going to get outcompeted by other wellness hotels / clinics in this price bracket unless it ups its game a bit.
