Hotel Sevilla in Ronda

The negative reviews are true but the price is almost the lowest in Ronda. I had only 1 night. The hotel itself is not that bad per se. It's old but all the basic amenities are working. However it clearly lacks any attention and care. It's usually the minor details, the little things that distinguish a good hotel from a bad one. First of all, unfriendly and disinterested staff, no smile, no proactivity. Second, the rooms are very basic and comfortless, the mattress quite old, terrible low pillows. There's a phone but no information how to reach the reception - so, useless. Third, when I see that the check-in time is from 15:00 and the check-out is earlier than 12 (11:00 in that case) - I just instantly hate it. The international standard for hotels around the world is 14:00/12:00. It's just recently they started to push it - an hour later here, an hour earlier there, all because they are unwilling to hire enough staff and their housekeeping can't clean the rooms in 2 hours. But why is it my problem? Actually, the only time I saw someone from the staff being proactive, is exactly at 11:00 when the woman knocked at my room and quite rudely suggested that I'm already 5 minutes late. But the funny thing is that the hotel was half-empty. Not only did I see no other people during my stay, but they were even selling the rooms at a lower price than when I booked it. Noone was waiting to check-in, so I didn't really understand the rush. After Ronda, I stayed at a 2* hotel in Sevilla which had far better hospitality and atmosphere.

Close to bus station. 10 min walk into town. Breakfast not very good. 16 euro for a bread roll, bit of cheese, few different meats, few choices of fruit and a coffee or orange juice. Not worth 16euro.

Drivers beware
Good location on edge of town. Breakfast 16 euros per person, so we didnt stay. Parking, under hotel, with a door opened by someone who could not see the car or door, so as the door automatically swung shut all on its own it took the side trim off the car! So will prove an expensive stay.
