Hostal Virgen del Rocio in Ronda

We were falsely accused and charged extra 50 € for damaging metal bed. As we didn't understand how could we damage it by sleeping in it. We came back, to see what damage did we do. Host showed the bed, we didn't agree with accusement, because it could not be possible to bend metal like that just sitting or sleeping in the bed. The host was agressive. We left without our 50 €.

Thoroughly disappointed by the management of this place. The hostel itself is fine for the price... has a good location with lots of restaurants nearby. However our room had ants all over the floor that got into our bags and instead of the staff being proactive about it and offering to help they blamed us saying we attracted them? I think the reason the floor tile is patterned is so the ants can blend it without you noticing. The staff also let themselves into our room without informing us which was unsettling as we did not expect that to occur and therefore did not lock up our personal items.Also they claim to have free WiFi however it doesn’t work so why bother. Would definitely choose to stay somewhere else next time.

Aside from the location, I would not stay at this hostel again! In our room, we had an ant infestation into luggage (containing no food) and the staff had no remorse and said it was our fault. The staff also entered the room without warning to supposedly change our sheets and moved/touched all of our stuff; there was no warning whatsoever. On top of this, the door locks are very finicky and not secure. If someone would want to break in they could. On top of all of this, they have one central WiFi for the whole building and it has poor signal, so don’t rely on having internet access while staying here. If you’re looking for an easy stay, then maybe this place is for you, but stay at your own risk. Hope there aren’t any bed bugs!
