And also the food in the restaurant was awesome
Cons: The restaurant is right next to the elevator on the ground floor, and also close to the main entrance, which feels a bit insecure. Anyone with bad intentions could easily follow you into the elevator and up to the rooms.
One day, after housekeeping had cleaned, I came back to the room and the entire place reeked of cigarette smoke. 🤦🏻♀️
We felt welcomed and cared for throughout our entire stay.
A special thank you to Daria at the reception desk, who patiently helped us sort out our paperwork 😅 — her dedication really made a lasting impression!
Our stay at the Catalonia Barcelona Plaza was truly excellent, thanks especially to Estel’s outstanding service. From the very beginning, she made us feel welcome, took the time to explain everything in detail, and even recommended the hotel’s restaurants. We mentioned that we planned to dine at the Japanese restaurant, and she not only made a call, but also checked in later to see how everything was going — such a thoughtful touch!
Another person who completely won our hearts was Andy, the bartender at the lobby bar. His energy, charisma, and friendly attitude made everyone feel special and well taken care of. Team members like them are what truly make a difference in a hotel experience.
We’re continuing our trip through Spain and will be staying at the Catalonia San Sebastián next — our expectations are high after such an amazing experience here! Thank you for making our stay so special.
The location of the hotel is good, allows easy travel into the city.
The view from the terrace is nice.
The AC doesn’t cool properly, seems like it can’t go under 24 degrees.
The room cleanliness wasn’t at the hotel rating unfortunately.
The hallway is very noisy, they have wooden floors and you can hear every step.
The breakfast was good, many choices available daily, everything fresh.
The pool is not maintained, the water was dirty and it closes very early, at 19:00.
The WiFi is slow.
