Bonito Ibiza by NCalma Hotels in San Antonio Abad

I stayed here with a friend for 4 nights. I initially wasn’t planning to leave a review, as the hotel is new and I understand teething problems can happen in the early months. However, given the premium price point and the hotel's self-rated 5-star status, I feel it’s worth sharing our experience—especially having stayed at Tres Ibiza last year, which set a high standard. Unfortunately, this stay didn’t live up to expectations. Room & Housekeeping: Our room was only properly cleaned on the third day. Beds were made daily, but the sheets were never changed, and the balcony was never swept or mopped. Oddly, the room had no bin apart from the one in the bathroom. We requested one, but it never arrived. Despite paying extra for a twin bed setup, we didn’t receive it. The fridge didn’t work, and the room phone to reception was also out of order. Service Issues: One of the most upsetting moments was being refused a drink at the bar at 10:45 PM by a barman who claimed they were closed for food and drink—only to then witness him serve two men a beer. It felt discriminatory and left us feeling uncomfortable and offended. On our fourth day, a 10% service charge was suddenly added—even for drinks you collect yourself at the bar. You can ask for this to be removed. That said, there were many positives too: Staff: With the exception of the barman mentioned, all other staff were friendly, approachable, and worked very hard. Room & Facilities: Our upgraded room was beautiful with a stunning view. The beds were extremely comfortable, and air conditioning worked perfectly. Pool Area: The sunbeds around the pool were excellent—super comfy and ideal for relaxing. Breakfast: A real highlight—plentiful, varied, and great for dietary requirements. Truly faultless. Extras: Free entry to O Beach was a nice touch. I'd recommend going early and leaving before it gets too busy. Staff there were also friendly and professional. Location: Ideal spot—close to fantastic restaurants (highly recommend Tapas and its sister restaurant), the beach, shops, and great for walking or running. Other Amenities: Complimentary beach towels and a beautiful rooftop pool and bar (although closed once for a private event—hopefully not a regular occurrence). Overall: This hotel could be amazing once it addresses the small but important issues—especially around consistency in service and room maintenance. For now, it’s not quite at the 5-star standard it aims for, but it has the potential to get there.
