Nice location and clean rooms but room was noisy. There is a 3-4cm gap under the main door so you can hear everything in the hallway and cleaning ladies are very loud in the morning (one was singing!). Also the gym opens at 10am which makes it unusable for business travelers.
All in all it was good value for money but the noise was really annoying

Great location, but everything else was just okay.

Amazing stay here - great service, friendly, helpful, great breakfast. Close to gardens and other amazing locations, such as, Cathedrals & Galleries.

We stayed here recently for 4 nights and had a lovely time! The hotel was great overall, location was perfect for exploring Madrid, breakfast was nice and always topped up, the staff were very friendly as well.

The only things that let the hotel down slightly are the bathrooms which are quite dated and have lots of loose fittings and also the rooms have absolutely no noise insulation so you can hear every single sound from both outside and inside the hotel. Now this isn’t the end of the world but did mean an interrupted sleep each night.

Other than that, great hotel right in the centre of Madrid and would recommend to tourists looking to explore.

I recently stayed at Hotel Opera in Madrid from February 18-19, 2025, and it was an extremely disappointing experience.

First, despite choosing the "pay on arrival" option when booking, I was forced to pay upfront through the hotel’s own payment gateway, bypassing the platform I used to book. When I refused, I was threatened with immediate cancellation of my reservation.

Upon arrival, the room was dirty, and the key didn’t work. After requesting a replacement, the new key still didn’t work. I had no choice but to rely on hotel staff to open my room each time, which felt like a serious violation of my privacy.

When I raised these issues with the hotel, they refused to take responsibility and didn’t offer any resolution.

Overall, my experience was frustrating, uncomfortable, and far below expectations. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

I've been here a couple of times. The best thing is location as it's close to Teatro Real and the Royal Palace. The staff is very serviceable and the rooms very confortable. My only worry is that the bathtub is very slipery even though they are handles on the sides. They have a cafeteria which is very local and restaurant with music mostly on weekends. Highly recommended.

Superbly located hotel. Staff are very nice. Room is slightly on the small size. Has a great restaurant below it.

Really nice hotel in an excellent location. Definitely a recommendation to future visitors. Clean. I stayed for 3 nights. Check in was simple.
I requested for a us to Europe travel adapter and the checkin male staff outrightly refused saying other guests have stolen that - at least make an attempt to check rather than dismissing the request. The other two nights that I stated, reception staff was very polite and went above and beyond to make us comfortable.

Fantastic dinner experience! The food was incredibly flavorful and the staff were delightful. The head chef stopped by our table on several occasions throughout the night and made sure our meal was as educational as it was delicious. I'll be very interested in checking out the Washington DC location when he returns to the States.

Excellent wine and food.

Nice place to eat good Spanish food at a reasonable price. Close to the opera and the royal palace. Worthing to try the rabo de toro

Host was incredibly friendly (in typical Basque fashion). The interior was beautifully elegant. But the portions, while delicious, were smaller than at other restaurants we've been to. And for 20€ a piece, were quite high. It's not like they were spectacular, or innovative. Only thing that could possibly justify is the location, which is right by the Opera.

Expensive, but still quite nice, so worth the 4 stars with the caution on the price.

Great hotel! Repairs in 2016-17. A quiet city center. Supermarket 5 minutes walk away. Breakfast with such a variety of fruits, meats, delicious sausages and pastries.... Scrambled, fried, etc. also optional. Coffee and champagne for Breakfast is great! We next time only here!
PS. On the fifth floor, the rooms are dark.

Hotel has recently been refurbished so it's pretty much new! Clean and comfy rooms, efficient staff and favourable location as it's within walking distance from great shops, bars and restaurantes.

The hotel is good located in the center, all within walking distance, but could do with redecorating in the room, but it is not critical, in General the impression of a does not affect
