Characteristic as much in appearance as in the interior and fittings, but comfortable and with large bed, good view from room and plenty of hot water. Officially four stars and a slightly naff breakfast, but the reception staff were polite, efficient and provided the sort of service you'd expect at a five star hotel.

Suggestion:- ignore the complaining moaners that it's not ultra- modern. This is Madrid, both old and new! We enjoyed our stay.

Don't think we'll be staying here again. The wifi doesn't reach the rooms, only the common areas. Our hotel room door wouldn't lock and we unfortunately only discovered it as we were about to check out. Staff was ok, except when I asked to use the microwave they directed me to the cafeteria. The cafe employee then rudely said I couldn't heat up my food because "the wrapper wasn't theirs" and to go back to the store where I had bought it from. What kind of "four star" hotel doesn't have at least a common shared microwave?? So if I had brought my own pasta from home they wouldn't have allowed me to heat it up because the tupperware wasn't theirs?? Last but not least we booked this hotel specifically for the fact that they advertised "free access to nearby fitness facility". When we checked in they said that they used to do that but not anymore. False advertising. I will say that I did book through a third party so the mistake could have been the website's, but nevertheless they should be accountable for keeping their information up to date with all their business partners. Guys, seriously, do yourself a favor and book another hotel. There are a ton more hotels for the same price and an even better location.

The service is really nice, the rooms are comfortable, big and cleaned and it's in a very good location, near the metro station

Two starts only We had a terrible WiFi signal only possible connection downstairs in the waiting room, no staff!! nobody went to clean our room in three days, second day there was a protest in front the hotel , Union was supported the workers in the hotel.

The hotel is very old, the room is poor , breakfast has nothing to offer. The only good thing i can say is that it is close to a train station .

I was with a group of people in this hotel. beginning did not look bad, then it began hell; I have not registered in the room and thus being empty a guy came in while I was changing! (of course with another key delivered by reseption, although two hours before I had already pointed out that the room was occupied) rooms were not clean and I found myself eating almost the same thing for 5 days (such as corn put on the table to rot) no one spoke English even though it was a hotel near the center of Madrid and with 4 stars, and so for every problem I did not know how to communicate (and there have been many problems).

The hotel snd facilitoes are dated, the shower you have to hold yoirself while standing in a bath tub. We booked a double room directly with the hotel and ended up being given a double after a 30 minute checkin process. This was at 11pm so we couldn't be bothered to foght it we were just hungry and wanted food. For a hotel that is self claimed four star thd overall experoence was lacling. Good location helpful staff.

Poor service. Poor cleanliness. TV and Internet barely worked. Menu said 24hr service. Called at 22.30 only to be told extremely rudely that the kitchen was closed. All 3 days I was there, their was a protest for unpaid staff. Suppose that explains a lot. All honesty avoid if possible.....

A 3 star hotel.
Take rooms with Windows to the yard. On the forecourt are about teenagers, and you can make noise until the morning. Air conditioning works only on heating, it is possible to sleep only with the window open. Electronic keys work badly.
The location is good. Next to the Palace Park, the subway, bus and train station. At the station, late night shop.
