Bed&Breakfast Una Habitación Propia in Valencia

Our stay at the b&b was not always pleasant. The building and room was charming at first sight, but soon the downsides emerged.

For instance, the room had no window, so it started smelling musty throughout the day. The bathroom was shared, so you couldn't shower and wash whenever you wanted.

Apart from that, the staff working there were not friendly and very difficult to communicate with. The only language they could speak was Spanish. So if you as a guest cannot speak Spanish then you are in trouble.

When leaving the B&B to get our plane, we sat down for 5 minutes and used the toilet one last time, upsetting the hosts beyond measure and at which point an argument arose. When we eventually left, they slammed the door shut behind us. Really not a pleasant way to leave, certainly because we tried so hard to communicate with them. Even if you don't get along, violence is never the solution. We would love to come back to Valencia, but not to this B&B.

The room fronted onto a busy street with lots of light and noisy bars. The single glazing was not ideal. Much worse was the lack of a curtain. There was no privacy since the room was overlooked by the building on the other side of the street. Also the street light kept me awake all night.
The receptionist agreed that they would refund the amount I paid. However, the refund was never made and they have never replied to any of the messages I have sent them.
A lousy experience. Avoid at all cost.

I know it's cheap and central, but it's not worth it.
Comfort 0. The mattress in the room was a catastrophe. You sink into it, I weigh 48 kg. Old bed linen, uncomfortable pillows, some too hard, others too soft. There were no wardrobes in the room, a hanger that was swaying ready to fall.
You can hear everything, bad doors and windows. I don't understand the presence of the cleaning ladies always there, in the kitchen, in the dining area... who talk to each other and make noise.
There is no strict requirement for minimum comfort, it is a scam.
At least the mattress on the bed, so you can rest... at least that much... but no. We will not return. Better give 100,200 euros more and stay at a hotel, honestly. Not worth it. You spoil your comfort, the minimum of comfort.
