stayed here with my family recently, and unfortunately, it was a terrible experience. We have stayed at Forest Paradise Hotel before, but the standards have dropped significantly.
The main issues were:
• Cleanliness: The room was very dirty when we checked in.
• Constant Noise: We couldn't sleep at all because of a loud, constant sound from the water pipes. The receptionist admitted that the water lines for five other rooms run through our room.
• Thin Walls: We could hear the neighbor’s TV clearly all night, which made it impossible for the kids to sleep.
As a returning guest, I am very sad to say I feel very bad about this stay. I expected much better maintenance and service for my family. I would not recommend this hotel until they fix these plumbing and cleanliness issues.

We had a very pleasant stay! The hotel is well maintained and the rooms are clean. The staff is very welcoming and helpful. The location is well situated, as there is no noise from the street.

Really great place, close to the city center and with a nice pool with a view. Hosts were helpful when we needed to change our plans. Definately recommend!

This is a lovely ‘hideaway’ in Ella. It is a short but steep (very steep) road up to the property which sits about 500m from the main Ella street. But the location is worth it - set in beautiful gardens with huge rooms, fridge, great showers, cable tv. Could do with bedside tables but we used the outside chairs. The hotel is set up from the road to Little Adams Peak and the 9 arch bridge. It took us about 12 minutes to walk to the main Ella street. Beautiful swimming pool. Labin who manages the property is a top host. He does a wicked breakfast (best poached eggs in Sri Lanka!!) and has loads of useful local information - really nice guy! This is highly recommended property, set in lovely grounds with fantastic hosts. All in all

This was unfortunately not a great place to stay for us. Price/quality was not like we expected. Room 202 was not clean and is situated in the back of the hotel. Room was not really a hotel standard. We should stay for 4 days but cancelled after 2 days and travelled further. Other rooms are maybe better.

Our stay at Forest Paradise was the most welcoming of my entire 2 month stay in Sri Lanka. Nelly was lovely, the breakfast was fantastic, and everybody made us feel so welcome that we stayed for 5 days out of our initial 2 night booking. It is very central and close to all bars and restaurants, as well as a short walk from main sites. The swimming pool is great and refreshing in the hot mornings and they have a pool table. We even had the lights working throughout the nationwide power cuts! 10/10 recommend, such good value for money.

Beautiful, clean hotel with spacious rooms and a lovely sunny swimming pool. Close to the city center (on foot) with a very green setting. Lots of birds and squirrels to watch, magical ;) Nelly the owner is very friendly and full of humor. He also gives good advice for visits to the surrounding area. In short, a hotel that suited me and my partner perfectly for a few days. No catering on site but this is not a problem at all with the proximity to the city center. Decent breakfast. Nice hotel, rooms are spacious, the garden is full of birds and squirrels.
In our room hot water was a little bit warmer than cold.
If you try to find it, you could notice that Google maps and Booking have different ideas on where the hotel is situated.😅
