The experience could not have been any more perfect. The hotel is located in a beautiful natural beach setting surrounded by palm trees. The architecture and interior design is a mixture of modernism and Sri Lankan chic, every detail considered. One could spend days on the poolside loungers enjoying the vista. Rooms are fabulous and the place is perfectly maintained. Excellent food, too. There's a beach, but sea too choppy to swim, and behind, a main road. Short rides to Unawatanu or to Thalpe itself if you aren't happy to just relax in a great place.

A small boutique hotel right on the beach in Talpe ( a shortish tuk tuk ride from Galle) . Excellent food and friendly staff. The common areas are very nice and well-maintained, with stunning views. The restaurant is small but offers very good food. This could be a 5-star property, but the quality of the room, bed, and bathroom needs improvement. Service: Some staff are pleasant, but some are only pleasant if you tip beforehand. The 3-hour catamaran tour, which you can book at reception, is highly recommended.

Fantastic location.  The swimmable beach is 100m to left of the hotel.  Very quiet and peaceful.  Beach has shade  so you are not in the sun 100%. Good staff interaction.  Rooms are big, most have some sea view.   Food is on par for Sri Lanka, primarily local cuisine, a bit pricey for the quality though. Overall, recommended.

I liked the pool and the sun loungers that doubled as beds. It was comfortable to swim in the pool and get some work done during the day. The room was a bit tired, but it had a sea view. The breakfast was overly salty (they didn't offer me an alternative). Overall, it was okay for a couple of nights.

This hotel is one of the best in the area, and they even offer breakfast and dinner, which we unfortunately didn't know about beforehand. The breakfast was plentiful, the mountain views were stunning, and it's not far from Kandy. Overall, a very comfortable stay.

Very nice resort hotel, there is a beach behind the hotel. There is no place to hike around the hotel. The only place you can go is a turtle conservation base more than one kilometer to the left along the beach behind the hotel. You can see turtles and relax in the hotel for the rest of the time.

A very pleasant trip! Every staff member at the hotel was incredibly welcoming and friendly. Since it was our honeymoon, they even gave us a small cake! I had a lovely massage which was so calming and relaxing!!! Such good price as well. The room was ok, it has very good air conditioning. The buffet was often overcrowded and there was limited choice, but the freshly made food was always delicious. Some drinks were not available. The pool was lovely and the staff were very attentive. A super-clean and well maintained colonial hotel, breakfast and diner- buffets were really good,cleaning staff were very friendly, but restaurant and reception staff could be more more service minded. The whole hotel is not well lighted.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, it's just like stepping back in time to enjoy the Colonial period. All the staff were welcoming and courteous. The breakfast and evening buffet were very good. Great location too.

We recently stayed at Galle Face Hotel, Colombo with my family. Overall, the hotel experience was good, especially the location and service. However, the rooms feel overly traditional and colonial, which does not fully meet modern-day requirements. The heavy wooden furniture and old-fashioned, posh décor may appeal to older patrons who appreciate classic heritage styles, but it may not suit travelers...

We stayed two nights and had a very nice stay. Location, room and staff were excellent. The only gripe was getting woken up at 3am on the morning of 31st December to workers setting up the hotel’s outdoor New Year’s Eve event. Crazy that someone thought that was okay to do.
