Little Paradise in Bentota

I had booked and paid for a ground floor room with pool access at Little Paradise. When I arrived, the staff initially told me that they could not find my reservation. After checking again, they eventually discovered that my booking was in their system after all. However, they had already given my room to other guests, claiming it was because those guests had experienced flight cancellations. This is simply not acceptable. I had a confirmed reservation and had already paid for a specific room category. Instead, I was offered a completely different room that did not compare in any way to what I had booked. The room faced the opposite direction, looked out toward other buildings rather than the pool area, and did not even have a balcony – despite the fact that I had specifically paid for a room with pool access. After spending both time and money on transportation to reach the hotel, being told that my room had been given away was extremely frustrating. The alternative offered was far below the standard of what I had paid for. Because of this situation, I ultimately had to leave and find another place to stay that could actually deliver the standard that Little Paradise failed to provide. After a longer correspondence with **********, I eventually received a refund for the booking. No other compensation, nor any real attempt to resolve the situation. When I left the property, no one apologized for selling my room to other guests, and there was not even a simple goodbye. They seemed very ununderstanding of my situation. Overall, a very disappointing experience. Bad service and bad management. Will not recommend.
