We booked a room with 2 double beds (alternatively 2 single bed) for a higher price because that's what we wanted - when we checked in, we were given a room with 1 double bed. Unfortunately the bed couldn't be spitted and no other room was available (which we highly doubted, as we were one of the early one's checking in that day).
We received a very soft co-sleeper bed...
The first night, we went to bed quite early as we were exhausted from the day. Suddenly, there was banging on the door - up to 10 times - before I was awake enough to open the door to 2 service guys from the hotel, giving me some cut fruits and 4 pralines - at 10:30pm!? I was totally confused by the time and behaviour...
Also the personnel wasn't of great help when asked regarding directions, post office, or else...
We just didn't like the experience we had in this hotel.
When cleaning the room, either bath towels or toothbrushes are not given. I think it is intentional, hoping that the guests will call someone to deliver them so that they can collect tips. This is also a common problem in Lanka hotels.
The hotel is a bit old, but there are no tissues or slippers in the room. What's going on?
