Quite a nice hotel on the river with a shuttle boat to take you accross to a super beach, be aware there are no loungers or shade as its just a massive beach. The waves are quite big and there is an undeertow plus no life guards. Keep an eye on the children if you have any. The rooms are nice and large, clean with nice bathroom/showers. Staff are polite and helpfull. Quite a few family resturants in the town, the one i used was very good, ate one dinner in the hotel also very good. Buffet breakfast, really designed for local tastes, fruit and very nice scammbled eggs to order plus toast coffee/tea. Toaster hopeless they need to buy a new one the bread did not stay down you had to hold it down. Worth staying here, i would stay again if in the area

Fantastic place to rejuvenate and heal I am going there every year since 17 years to have treatment with Dr Rohita. I really recommend this place. Of course you cannot expect western confort and it is not a modern spa you must be aware of it. But the most important is the treatment Dr Rohita prescribes to you , If it would not be helpful i would not come back every year!

This spa is, without a doubt, the most horrifying excuse for a spa experience in existence. My sister and I went based on local recommendations, which, in hindsight, must have been cruel pranks, because this place is nothing short of a waking nightmare. Imagine a coffin disguised as a sauna—yes, a literal coffin. That’s where they expect you to relax. Relax? More like prepare for your funeral. The massage was allegedly two hours long, but in reality, it was an endless parade of interruptions as the so-called “therapists” took breaks every five minutes. Calling them “professional” would be an insult to amateurs everywhere. They don’t massage; they smear oil on you like they’re greasing a squeaky hinge. Zero technique, zero relaxation, just awkward rubbing that feels like a toddler trying to paint with their hands. Oh, and forget about peace and quiet—they chatter away non-stop, breaking any illusion of serenity. Every two minutes, you’re flipped over like a pancake on a griddle. Just when you think it can’t get worse, it does. Because, out of nowhere, a quack of a doctor barges into the women’s spa room without warning. Yes, in the middle of what was already a trainwreck, this self-proclaimed “acupuncturist” starts randomly jabbing needles into you without consent, calling it acupuncture. No explanation, no professionalism—just unsolicited needle poking like we’re some kind of pin cushions. This was supposed to be a soothing escape, but it felt more like an endurance test for a bad comedy show. If I could rate this experience with negative stars, I would. Attaching a photo of their so-called sauna—seriously, it’s a coffin. Save yourself the trauma and avoid this place at all costs.

We spent our first night in Sri Lanka in this hotel. Very nice room (with AC) in front of the swimming pool and the river. The staff is professional and very welcoming...always happy to help. The breakfast and dinner (buffet is provided) is perfect.

The hotel is in a nice location next to the river. The rooms are reasonable and the breakfast was good. There is pool next to the river and various boat activities are offered next to the hotel. It was very good value for money. We cannot speak of the other facilities as we didn't use them

Being an Ayurveda Massage Therapist myself, I too, love to be massaged. This round I was curious how Sri Lankan’s Ayurveda massage like, so I decided to try it out. 1. The lady who attended to me just handed me a flyer with the rate in Euro. When I asked for the rate in LKR, she wasn’t happy. I asked for the rate in Shirodhara (oil dripping on the forehead ) : LKR8000 then I asked for Abhyanga (body massage ).. she started to be very inpatient and suggested me to take the “package”. The way she talked to me was like -“ Hey you don’t have money for massage, don’t waste my time ” When I asked if I had to decide now ( it was 10am ) she said yes!!. Since I was staying in the “resort” I thought I need to think over which one to choose. She also asked me to pay first… When I told her I am staying in the “resort” then she said ok pay later and walked off.. I don’t feel so good with her energy but I just brushed it off thinking she might have a bad day. 2. After I booked the Abhyanga, 10 minutes later I went back and wanted to switch to Shirodhra. The reception told me to talk to the doctor and so I did. I asked if they have a package for only these 2 ( I don’t need the face massage and acupuncture ) The doctor was so nice to give me a discount. I need to give credit to him on this. 3. Before the massage started, I asked the doctor if they will provide specific shampoo or besan ( chickpea powder ) to wash off the oil after Shirodhara.. he told me to use the shampoo provided by the resort.. I told him there was no shampoo no conditioner. He then promised will provide shampoo.. credit to him again for the free shampoo although if it is a professional Ayurveda center, they should have this.. 4. Shirodhara should be relaxing right ? H There is this lady kept whispering to the one who was doing the Shirodhara ! I told myself to let it go… When I was doing Shirodhara for others, which I learned from the Ayurveda school, I have to massage the client’s head while dripping on the forehead while maintaining the same temperature of the oil. Guess what? No massage during the session! After she finished, she did massage my head for like a minute.. easy job. 5. Abhyanga.. I respect the technique could be different but the oil wasn’t warm ? What makes Ayurveda massage different is that they always use warm medicated oil. Maintaining the same temperature is already a hard work! I wasn’t relax at all! Then she told me to turn around, she wanted me to place my face on that oily pillow…Not to mention they don’t even have that face-cradle! I told her I cannot put my face on that oily pillow! So she removed it and let me put my chin ( I had to roll up the towel ) on the towel… Another super unprofessional service. 6. Here is the best part.. When I ask where can I shower to get rid of all the oil on my hair and body.. She said no shower.. Shower in your room. I was like how to put my clothes back on this oily body ?? Then she use towel to “wipe off” the oil… I don

Let this place be your last option for Ayurveda treatment. I just waisted my hard worked money for nothing. I swear the masseus knows nothing I mean nothing about massage, she did not even apply that oil to my whole body😢😢. The noise from the Dr & probably ppl that came to enquire, her friend came over & she was like that was my friend like it’s nothing. I am lying in that bed uncovered like a frog sunbathing while all she is doing is only applying this oil. In the steam room I had to listen to her conversing with her colleague I paid for two hours & she rushed Everything and when I looked @ the watch she had the nerve to tell me that her baby is waiting. Ohh I had to ask her to massage my head probably delaying her from her baby but she waited for me to dress up so I can give her the tip.

A beautiful place with wonderful people! The owner Mr. Mohan and his son made our stay incredible. Great rooms, great food, 2 minutes to the beautiful beach by boat. Every day we had something amazing-water sport or boat trip. Also it is the perfect place for an Ayurveda Panchakarma cure with a very competent Ayurveda Doctor Rohitha. In 14 days of the treatment i felt like a new person, my blood pressure and cholesterol became normal!!! My therapist Jayantha has really gold hands ))) Every day we enjoyed fresh catched fish, fruits and vegetables and we lost 10 pounds!!! Many thanks to the lovely Laluna team!! I am definitely recommend thid place to everyone and we plan to come back here the next year.
