The staff and manager at Fort Square Villas were amazing, they couldn't do enough for you - any time of day. They didn't have any printed maps so they drew us the sweetest little maps of the area and listed out nice restaurants to try nearby, very sweet, personalized service. To be honest the rooms were slightly smaller than we imagined from the pictures, but they were very clean. The location of the villas is extremely convenient to walk around Galle Fort area and actually close enough for trips to Mirissa, Weligama Bay etc.

The place is really nice but the only thing that bothered us the most were the insects and a rat in the outside seating area.

Terrible experience I had with this place. It was so bad to the extent that while I had non refundable booking there I had to find another hotel.
This is only 3 rooms house and the double room they advertise does not have windows except those overlooking the garden and breakfast area. There is no privacy in this place. You could hear what people in the reception area were discussing.
Staff do not speak English except for the manager Samitha who was extremely rude and she was the one to turn me off completely and made me look for another accommodation.
This place is not worth the rates they are advertising. No breakfast, no service, no wardrobe in the room (only cupboard), no privacy.
Once you book with them, you are on your own and good luck to you as they will try rip you off as you are a foreigner.
I ended up paying as much in a different hotel with professional service and great breakfast. Seriously do not recommend this place. It is only nice photos for which they used extra lighting in photoshop.

Fort Square is located in Galle Fort, near to magistrate court. The dutch hospital is very near to this place and lighthouse as well. The property is very large and comfortable with air conditioned rooms, room sevice, coffee and tea basis, fresh towels.. In the master suit room, there is a big hot tub and that room is lovely..Even couples and families can stay there. The breakfast is great and it is full with string hoppers, hoppers, parata, roti, coconut sambol, dhal curry, tomato curry,sausages, toast with jam, butter, banana pancakes with honey, fresh fruit plate with fresh juice and tea and coffee provided and the breakfast is very big and heavy. The staff is lovely and nice. Always ready to help and they are very close to the guests and good english speaking staff. The owner is also very nice guy. The price is reasonable. May be u feel it is expensive but actually in Galle Fort the land is expensive and valuable. That is why it is like that. but anyway it is really lovable place to stay and i would like t highly recommend the Fort Square. Enjoy and get a experience

Great room and very good services from the staffs. Can be a bit hard to just walk past the hotel (there is no sign when we were there). A good, quiet place to relax while exploring the fort.

300 year old historical mansion. Good value for money for families and smaller groups. Fabulous location and very attentive staff.
