The hospitality was top notch. All the staff were smiling and I had a really pleasant stay. You'll fall in love with Galle after staying here. The location is right in the heart of the old town. The breakfast was also excellent.

A 3 year undertaking, The Charleston is an impeccably restored 1924 Art Deco residence transformed into a nine-bedroom boutique hotel. Using only the finest materials and craftsmen in the restoration process, The Charleston is a luxurious sanctuary for the discerning traveler.

I had a wonderful stay at The Charleston! From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcome and ensured I was comfortable throughout my stay. The room was clean, cozy, and beautifully maintained, and the overall atmosphere of the property truly made me feel at home. The food was absolutely amazing, delicious and beautifully prepared. The level of hospitality was excellent, with every detail taken care of so thoughtfully. The location is perfect as well, adding to the charm and overall experience. Thank you to The Charleston team for making my stay so memorable. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Galle Fort, and I look forward to returning again!

What a fabulous hotel. Beautiful rooms, exceptional service and friendly helpful people. We loved our stay. Food was excellent. Location in Galle was perfect! Definitely would recommend 😊

After spending a few days inland, we moved on to Galle and stayed at the Charleston Hotel, and what a breath of fresh air it was. Everything about this hotel radiates design and style. It was spotless, smelled fresh, and felt light and welcoming. The bed was by far the most comfortable one I experienced during our entire trip. The reception staff were incredibly kind and always eager to help, and the same goes for the restaurant team. Breakfast was delicious and tailored to our wishes, fresh, made with high-quality ingredients. On top of that, the rooftop bar is fantastic, perfect for enjoying the views with a drink, and the swimming pool was a real highlight for our kids, who loved having the chance to cool down and play. All in all, staying here was a true delight and such a refreshing experience. Highly recommended!

The location is excellent, located next to the ancient city wall. The beach is just behind the hotel, and you can also watch the sunset while sitting on the hotel terrace bar. Although the breakfast is not a buffet, it is very delicious. The room is not big, but clean and comfortable

A very new hotel with a good location. Galle Fort is close to the seaside and there is a Chinese restaurant next to it. The hotel facilities are very new, and the rooftop terrace is also very impressive. Worth a stay

The hotel is rustic and authentic. It is no generic international standard hotel by any stretch but it is classy, arty and boutique. In a quiet backstreet but an easy walk anywhere around the fort. Breakfast is delicious and very good but can become a bit repetitive if staying more than a day so a couple of other options to select would be good. Service is very good and friendly from staff.

We had the best stay at Prince of Galle. Such a lovely location, with beautiful interior design and thoughtful attention to detail. A real highlight for us was the friendly and genuinely caring service from Rukman, Kapila, and Sarengh, who made sure we were well looked after throughout our stay. The breakfast was also fantastic. Truly a little gem in Galle, we would definitely come back. Thank you to the whole team for making our stay so special.

Don’t think twice about staying here, Prince of Galle is a real gem. Effortlessly stylish with classic colonial charm, perfectly located inside Galle Fort with everything within easy walking distance. The staff are exceptional and genuinely go above and beyond. Rooms are small but beautifully done and completely in keeping with the building’s character. The iced tea really is the best, and breakfast is on another level. Highly recommended.

This is a beautiful colonial style hotel on a quiet side street within the fort itself. We were lucky enough to stay in the Kings Residence on the top floor. The style of the property is Sri Lankan colonial but with western comforts like air conditioning. The top floor suite includes an open plan sitting area with chairs and access to a small terrace to view the sunset.
The staff are so welcoming and pandered to our every need. The breakfast justifies its billing as superb and is a lovely combination of Sri Lankan flavours served in a western style.

Recently visited here and absolutely loved every minute of my stay. From the moment I arrived, the hotel felt special, a perfect blend of historic charm and refined modern luxury, set in a truly serene atmosphere.
