Golden Pearl Tangalle Beach in Tangalle

This is a decent hotel for the price. I booked two rooms: a deluxe room with a sea view and a luxury room (pictured). In our deluxe room, instead of a shower, there was a bathtub (no separate shower) and the room was slightly larger. Both rooms were next to each other on the second floor, both with direct sea views. I think they might also offer the luxury room as a deluxe. The rooms are fully equipped, and while there were some concerns about the cleanliness of the floor due to its material, overall it was clean. I was disappointed with the air conditioner, which was directed straight at the bed. The sea is close by, the beach is good, and I even managed to swim. The staff are generally customer-oriented and willing to help with everything.

Breakfasts were very slow. The buffet only had bread, jam, butter, and coffee/tea. We had to wait a long time for everything else. The gym is not ventilated at all, smells moldy, and it seems even the staff don't go in there anymore :)

Located in a very bustling area of Tangalle Beach, there is plenty going on here, with restaurants, bars and lots of young people around, and that's just on the road side of the hotel. A short walk through the entrance area and you emerge onto the pool, beyond which is the beach access. The rolling waves crash onto the beach, while sipping local beer, under a palm tree, in comfortable chairs and lounges. Further down the beach people were lounging and even enjoying a massage under the trees. There was plenty to do and see in the area, with most attractions only a short tuk tuk ride away. Definitely not as quiet or isolated as Turtle Beach, or as trendy as some of the other beach resorts further down the road, it was still an interesting and comfortable hotel. The breakfast buffet was good, although a bit limited. The room was very spacious and comfortable, but watch out for the polished concrete floor which can be very slippery when wet. Staff were a bit off hand, but in all, a pretty decent place.

I had a wonderful stay at Golden Pearl Resort in Tangalle. The hotel is very peaceful and surrounded by beautiful nature, making it a perfect place to relax. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and high quality. The staff were incredibly friendly and always ready to help with anything we needed. I also loved how close the resort is to the beach, which made it easy to enjoy the ocean and sunsets. It was a great experience and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the southern coast of Sri Lanka.

Great location, with sun loungers available and beach towels provided. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the view from the room is excellent. The internet is fast and even reaches the beach. The beach itself is good too.
