We absolutely loved our stay at We Are Surfers Hotel.
From the very first day, the place felt special.
The location is perfect — tucked away from the chaos of Weligama and Mirissa, yet still close enough to walk into town whenever you want. It gives you the best of both worlds: peace, nature, and easy access to everything.
The hostel has its own private beach, and honestly, it’s even more beautiful than the main beaches. It’s an incredible spot for snorkeling, advanced surfing, or simply relaxing by the ocean with no crowds around.
The food is amazing — fresh, nourishing, and made with so much care. And the team is truly incredible: always smiling, genuinely kind, super friendly, and ready to help with anything you need. If you want to go somewhere, they can easily arrange a tuk tuk or any transport for you.
It’s the perfect place to slow down, reconnect with nature, and feel at home while traveling.
We would come back in a heartbeat. 🌊✨

Stayed at We Are Surfers Surf Camp – a really cool place with a great team and a chill atmosphere for travelers. Great place to surf, relax, and feel at home near the sea.
Experience Rooftop Restaurant is a must-go, guys! Awesome Sri Lankan rice & curry with a nice view from the rooftop. Simple, genuine, and super tasty!

Had an incredible stay at We are Surfers! The first thing you notice is the fantastic view—it’s easily one of the best spots in Weligama to wake up to. The staff were so welcoming and friendly, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The best part? The pricing is unbeatable for the quality you get. The beds are very comfortable, and the food was delicious. If you're looking for a great vibe that doesn't break the bank, this is it. Highly recommend!

Beautiful facility, absolutely delighted by the friendly and super helpful staff:
1) They helped us plan our airport pickup and drop from Colombo Airport, all very hassle-free
2) Very good meal options for the breakfast, their coffee is amazing
3) Rooms were clean and clean towels. Rooms were equiped with all basic necessities.
4) They helped us arrange a Scooty for rent for hassle free commute within Wiligama- Mirissa. They even gave us free Ponchos along with the Scooty, which was VERY helpful.
5) Room cleaning was on point, did a great job.
6) They have a private beach type setup, great for morning swim, yoga, stroll etc.

Stayed for a few days and loved the atmosphere — cozy rooms, great location, and very relaxed.
But the highlight of my trip ended up being The Reef Weligama right next door. Their rice and curry is on another level. Real Sri Lankan flavors, super fresh. Highly recommend stopping by!

We were very disappointed and sometimes even disgusted.
Room seemed clean at forst, but when you spend more than 1 day (we spent 3) you notice details - unclean bathroom, cockroaches, lizards in toilet, mirrors and windows haven't seen cleaning product for a long time...
Our bed wasn't comfortable at all. After first night of no sleep, manager brought new matress, the previous one was obviously overused for some time already. We slept in a hole. Unfortunatelly that didn't help, "new" one was the same. I'm 27, healthy and fit, but I have back pain after and it hurts like hell.
The beach was very very very small. Nobody was here, because when you want to get there , you have to climb dangerous "stairs" (they were missing) - nothing for children and elder.
We had paid for full board, but nobody from staff knew what that means, so we were constantly discussing about that. First day they gave us key and didn't explain anything. When we asked, they told us to wait for the manager, because they don't know.
Manager showed up 2nd day, explained... but only to us. Staff was uninformed and didn't know how things work - 4 employees running around us, but all confused.
When we ordered, we've got different meal. Or none, so we had to remind them and explain to locals that understood English, so they could translate.
You would assume they prepare nice fresh sea food or fish. Nope...
And nobody was at the reception for the whole time. When we wanted to check out, nobody responsible with the bill was nearby, so waiters had to help and they had such a mess in our account, so we had to say what we ordered and have to pay for.
Only one nice thing - the sea view. But couldn't save other.

Wonderful location and friendly staff. This place has so much potential unfortunately the features it offers have been rather a letdown. The New Bay View Villa runs at $50 per night. The most disappointing part are the rooms. They are worn out, old-fashioned and most of all slightly smelly. After waking up we discovered a huge bunch of ants running across the furniture and some impressive big cockroach in our room. Thats something that just shouldn't happen.

Feet in the water, this Guest House of 9 rooms built in 2012 by its young owner, is a pure wonder. Management and staff contribute to create an atmosphere out of time.

A Great Vacation on the south of Sri Lanka,,,,,,,,,
The hotel in the village of Kapparathotta is a very nice place to stay if you love ocean. The hotel has a small beach with corals. Also you can go along the rock wall to the left from the beach and climb the rock from which you can see beautiful vistas of open Indian ocean! So marvelous!!!
Every day you can fall asleep and wake up with the sounds of waves! it's wonderful!!!
The breakfasts are verygood with fruits, juices as well as creative!
The rooms are really enough and so clean. Hot water in the bathroom.
The owners and staff are very friendly and nice! Suresh does his best to please the clients as well as to help to make their stay as interesting as possible.
I love to stay there!
