Sweet Cinnamon Hotel in Kandy

Sadly average on most counts. They tried their best and had a warm greeting with fresh juice and cake but it just wasn’t to our liking. Some basic points of dissatisfaction: Internet was not available in the bedroom only public areas Although a tv was in the room most channels were subscription only. Pool not clean nor clear, milky and unusable. Sun beds old Windows in bathroom clear so totally visible from outside- no blind nor curtain 🤷‍♀️ Windows in bedroom and bathroom were sealed and not openable Food was average to poor- lacking in quality, flavour and amount, Sri Lankan breakfast for instance only one dish with coconut roti. Certainly the worst coffee… An odd side window to bedroom door/ corridor allowing the many lights left on to glow though making it a un restful night. Noise from the next door neighbours gym and health club disturbing the peace with heavy boom boom music and some construction noise at times. Not reliable when via the manager, booking a tuk tuk at night, let down on return journey when out for a meal in the nearby area -was no big deal as hailed a local but felt had it been a lone traveller it could have left you feeling very vulnerable. Staff were reluctant to engage making it quite a stern affair.

The room was spacious and nice. There was no kettle or refrigerator in the room, so I got hot water and borrowed the hotel's refrigerator to cool my drinks. The staff were friendly.
Uber is not very useful in Kandy, and the tuk-tuk drivers didn't know where it was, so it was a bit difficult. It seemed like pick me was more popular than Uber.

The hotel was fine, nothing more. The rooms are spacious and clean. What is not worth it is lunch or dinner. It's expensive, it takes a long time and it's not delicious.
