Rivendell Hotel in Kandy

We recently stayed at this hotel in Kandy for two nights. While the staff were generally courteous, we encountered several service shortcomings.Upon arrival, the TV in my room was not functioning. Although staff attempted to rectify the issue by recharging the dish, many important news channels and kids channels were unavailable.Furthermore, the room description included an iron and ironing board, as well as a tea kettle. However, these amenities were not initially provided and only made available upon request.On the second day, we returned from sightseeing to find that the bathroom towels were missing.In summary, while the breakfast buffet was enjoyable and the staff were generally polite, the overall service quality requires significant improvement. Guests should be prepared to proactively request amenities and address any service deficiencies.

It's an ok hotel. It's definitely not worth the 4 star tag. This is more of a 2 star only. Rooms are OK, but don't have any of the amenities you associate with 4-star hotels. There were no hand towels or toiletries. The Tv did not work at all. If you call the reception, someone will come to fix it, but if you exit the room and take the key card, the TV would stop working. No dressing mirror in the room. The food is so so. On our day 1, the buffet served cold food. There are not many options. More of Indian food than anything else. Location wise - it is outside the city and nothing nearby. Kandy City Center is about 10 minutes by car. The pool is very small and at the rooftop. Staff are good. This is probably the good thing. Otherwise, it's OK for a day or two but nothing more. Definitely, not 4 stars. This is an extremely expensive hotel with very limited amenities.
