We had a wonderful stay at Rivendell Hotel. The hotel is in a peaceful location just outside the busy centre of Kandy, making it a perfect place to relax while still being close to the main attractions. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and had beautiful views of the surrounding hills and greenery. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, always happy to help with anything we needed and giving great local advice. Breakfast was delicious with a good mix of local and Western options, and the atmosphere around the hotel was calm and relaxing. It’s a great place to unwind after visiting sights like the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic or exploring the city. Highly recommend Rivendell Hotel if you’re visiting Kandy and looking for a comfortable stay with great hospitality. Would definitely stay here again! 🌿🏨

Midcity, quiet inside, cozy, clean, great hospitality. Bat migration in evening from rooftop is treat. Food variety is good, for Asians as well as Europians, americans, and Oceania. Do taste the fish. Freshwater fish are tasty, saltwater fish fleshy, well cooked. Caring staff.

The hotel was not so busy when we visited but nonetheless it's a pretty place. A compact hotel with all the amenities you will need. Beautiful views of the river and mountains depending on which side your room is. The pool on the roof also gives great views. Staff are helpful and friendly especially the ones in the restaurant!

Good hotel in Kandy, room is clean and staff are friendly. The food is good, I enjoyed the dosa and idly combo for breakfast. We had purchased some cashew along the way, the restaurant staff prepared it for us to taste as well.

Excellent service but A/C is not functioning well. Please look into it as a matter of urgency. Food was also good. The operations manager along with his colleagues were very friendly and courteous. My hats off to the operations manager. Also TV was not functioning properly and limited channels only. First day we were getting BBC and CNN. And suddenly these channels disappeared totally.

A hidden gem in Kandy. Big and cozy rooms welcome you. Prompt, attentive and smiling staff make sure you feel at home. Delicious food for breakfast and dinner. What else you can ask for. Keep up the good work guys. Would love to revisit every time I come to Kandy.

We recently stayed at this hotel in Kandy for two nights. While the staff were generally courteous, we encountered several service shortcomings.Upon arrival, the TV in my room was not functioning. Although staff attempted to rectify the issue by recharging the dish, many important news channels and kids channels were unavailable.Furthermore, the room description included an iron and ironing board, as well as a tea kettle. However, these amenities were not initially provided and only made available upon request.On the second day, we returned from sightseeing to find that the bathroom towels were missing.In summary, while the breakfast buffet was enjoyable and the staff were generally polite, the overall service quality requires significant improvement. Guests should be prepared to proactively request amenities and address any service deficiencies.

We had booked this hotel for our stay at Kandy. Hotel is ok with a small pool and no other facilities. The restaurant serves average food and the buffet is small. There is a temple just outside which has prayers played very loudly every day from 5.30 am to 6.00 am. Also having a bus stop just outside in the main road creates lot of noise of the traffic. Staff are courteous and polite

It's an ok hotel. It's definitely not worth the 4 star tag. This is more of a 2 star only. Rooms are OK, but don't have any of the amenities you associate with 4-star hotels. There were no hand towels or toiletries. The Tv did not work at all. If you call the reception, someone will come to fix it, but if you exit the room and take the key card, the TV would stop working. No dressing mirror in the room. The food is so so. On our day 1, the buffet served cold food. There are not many options. More of Indian food than anything else. Location wise - it is outside the city and nothing nearby. Kandy City Center is about 10 minutes by car. The pool is very small and at the rooftop. Staff are good. This is probably the good thing. Otherwise, it's OK for a day or two but nothing more. Definitely, not 4 stars. This is an extremely expensive hotel with very limited amenities.
