We stayed in Aarunya for two nights as a family of three traveling with a toddler. Our stay included the night of December 31, which included a New Year’s Eve special dinner event. The resort only has nine rooms and we stayed in a Sky Habitat Villa, which comes with its own private pool. The room quality was excellent and our toddler loved having private pool in the room. We were assigned a personal butler and given a phone that could connect with him at any time. The service was great and the resort staff tried their best to accommodate all our requests. New Year’s Eve dinner was very good. The performances ended early due to heavy rain with the stage being outdoors. The regular menu items were generally good. Location is approximately 45 minutes outside of the main city area of Kandy and there doesn’t seem to be much to see nearby. Need to plan out ahead to see Kandy’s main attractions.

The location in the mountains is breathtaking. Surrounded by nature, silence and beautiful views, it is the perfect place to slow down, reconnect and simply be. The energy of this place is very special — mornings and evenings with the sounds from the nearby temple made the experience even more magical. The team at Aarunya is exceptional. Every person we met was kind, attentive and sincere. You don’t feel like a guest here; you feel welcomed like family. The service comes straight from the heart, and that makes all the difference. The food was prepared with love and attention, and you can feel the care in every detail. Everything was fresh, nourishing and beautifully presented. This is not just a hotel — it is a place of connection, reflection and love. We left with beautiful memories and a deep sense of gratitude, and we already know we will return. Thank you, Aarunya, for creating such a special place. We will carry this experience with us and look forward to coming back.

Amazing place and impecable service. The perfect hidden sanctuary to explore Kandy region. The villa’s are fully integrated in nature and have superb views on the valley and mountains. Some rooms have an own butler which makes the stay even more special. We were almost treated like royalty. The management team is taking care of a personal welcome of the guests … highly appreciated. Top place !

Thank you for a lovely stay. This was our second time at Aarunya and it felt like home. We had an amazing and relaxing holiday. Thank you for the complimentary upgrade and great service. We had the best view of the mountains from our room and there are no words to explain - it was simply breathtaking. The staff were all so helpful and friendly and attended to us with utmost willingness. Thank you to the butlers - Mahesh, Lucky, Gihan and Namal who attended to our every need and made sure we were comfortable at all times. A special thank you to Chef Ranil for all the amazing meals he prepared for us with care and effort. He always asked us if we had any special requests and made sure we were happy. The food was amazing and some of the tastiest food we ever had, especially the lamb chops and mutton curry. Thank you to the management for being customer focused and making sure we were treated well and taken care of. Since we have been at Aarunya before, we can confidently say that this resort keeps getting better and better and is a place we will surely visit again in the near future. My favourite hotel of the whole trip (and we did Wild Coast / many other 5 stars). No words for how breathtaking the setting was. Can see why in UNESCO site, the serenity of absolute quiet, the sounds of so many birds - which fly so close to the room. The accommodation was easily the most thoughtful and best appointed in terms of comfort, layout, space you actually use etc. We stayed in the sky tented room with a pool. In all the right ways you feel connected with nature but it feels like a 5* hotel room when inside. Finally the service, apologies to the team - The manager and our butler for forgetting names. But it was the most natural luxury service experience we had all holiday. Easy to communicate with, met any requests, and pleasant conversation without anything being forced. Sadly we only had one night as would have loved to have explored more of the property and experiences.

Amazing Stay at Arunya Nature Resort! One of the best places we’ve traveled to – the nature is unbelievable and the views are breathtaking. We spent 2 peaceful days surrounded by beauty. The staff were so kind and helpful. I even got my lost glasses back after 2 weeks – they arranged to courier them! Truly outstanding service. Highly recommend!

The villa-style hotel is located on the mountain. The room has its own swimming pool. The overall environment of the hotel is great! Especially the dinner in the restaurant is highly recommended, with 9 local Sri Lankan food, equipped with a dedicated chef and music performance, and the price is a little expensive.
