Stayed at Hotel Kreuz & Post for 2 nights during our stay in Grindelwald. Rooms - 10/10 We got a free room upgrade! It was a beautiful 2 floor room with nice views of the mountains. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the mountains. The room was comfortable, with tea and coffee making facilities which we hadn't had since leaving the UK. The staff at the hotel were friendly and very helpful. Knowledgeable about the area and more than happy to make suggestions about what to do. The only downside was the cost, but wherever we have stayed in Switzerland it has been expensive

Our stay was absolutely amazing! The hotel is incredibly charming, with that quintessential Swiss look that really lifted our spirits. We were also thrilled to have a direct view of the Eiger from our room. Breakfast was delicious too! The only minor drawback is the steep walk from the train station, which can be a bit challenging with heavy luggage, but the fantastic views totally make up for it.

The hotel service was excellent. Upon arrival, they let us choose our preferred room. The breakfast provided was quite rich, and the views were incredibly beautiful, making it feel like we were in a fairytale.

Lovely views! Close to the train station and town however it is a steep incline into town/to the station especially with luggage. Lovely buffet breakfast also, with lots of local produce.

We had an extremely comfortable stay here. Even though it’s a bit of a walk from the station (about 10 mins), it’s definitely doable and worth it for the pretty views of the mountain you get in the rooms/ at the gardens. The service was very friendly, and they would ask if you wanted coffee or hot milk for breakfast. It was not far from the station, and next to it was the prime spot for checking in at the dreamy hillside. When I left, they also gave me two bottles of Coke Zero! In Switzerland, where prices are high, giving me drinks was really touching.

The Grindelwald visitor's card was a huge help here. Location wasn't as good as due to the bus that stops running at 6pm. The view was amazing. Nice spacious shower. Room was a little warm and if windows are open there will be bugs flying in if lights are on.

Great service coming in, was able to check in early which I was pleased with. Check out was very smooth and fast. Stayed in a mixed dorm for two nights. Wouldn’t normally choose this but was a last resort. Just the typical hostel cons of loud snorers and those who have no social awareness slamming doors and turning on the lights late at night but this is no fault of the property just the demographic...

We stopped here to have dinner at the restaurant. I recommend trying this delicious fondue. We were also served by a very friendly and polite waitress from the Czech Republic (unfortunately, I don’t remember her name). She left pleasant memories of this place.

We did not stay at the hotel but we ate at the restaurant Last night and the food was fantastic. Presentation was excellent. The ambience of the restaurant was cozy and our server, Amalia, Was cheerful friendly and very attentive. We felt very well taken care of she's a lot of fun.Highly recommend this location for a traditional swiss meal.

Good dinner. We sat on the patio enjoying the weather and the view. (It is on the main street so expect pedestrian & vehicle traffic and noise.) Salads were fresh. Tried the Swiss dish, Älplermagronen, while good there are other Swiss dishes we have enjoyed more. Service was attentive. We were not rushed after our meal was completed. If you would prefer the check sooner it is appropriate to ask.

It was rainy cats and dogs, we as returned clients ordered for their pizzas & pasta for our dinner. We were truly amazed by Lucia, whom served us with full of smiles and friendliness on both occasions, such an attentive and efficient staff. Pizza and pasta were delicious and excellent. The hotel is very close to the Grindelwald train station. The breakfast was OK. The room was very clean. The owners, Peter and Daniela are very nice, as are the other staff members. In our room there was no A/C. Might be a consideration for summer vacations.

Possibly the best value hotel in Switzerland and definitely one of the best located. Only 50m from the train station and about 150m from the bus station for Terminal and First and all the restaurants. Friendly, quiet and very well run by Peter and team, with jaw-dropping views of the Eiger and Grindelwald from the balcony. Good breakfast too. Great stay, highly recommend for skiers.

We totally love the location! It is just 2 minutes walk from the Grindelwald Station. The room is spacious with sachets of shampoo and soap provided. The floor creaks at certain steps and the bathroom can get a little too dark. We can hear next-door conversations from the toilet. The windows to our room (22) faces the bank. The breakfast offered is lovely with a decent variety of choices.

This is a humble abode with million dollar views. Worth it to get a mountain facing room with a balcony to the Eiger. Lovely hosts. Easy booking and check-in. Rooms are cleaned every day and a scrumptious spread for breakfast. Train station, buses and COOP supermarket are all a 5 minute walk away. You won’t find better value in this town.

This hotel is excellent. Firstly its position in the village is perfect, being a very short distance from the main station & bus station. The accomdation is very comfortable with many rooms facing the mountains and meadows. Some of the best views in Grindelwald. We and our friends stayed at Hotel Tschuggen for a week at the beginning of March 2026. We were very satisfied with it in every way. It is a small, clean, cozy hotel with a very friendly and service-minded staff. The view from our rooms, which faced the Eiger, is so nice.

We have just spent a lovely 5 days here. The hotel is in a fantastic location just a short walk from the station. We had a Mountain View with balcony and the views were just incredible. We come to this area on holiday regularly but this was our first stay in Grindelwald. This hotel had the most comfortable beds and the best coffee I’ve experienced in Switzerland! We have enjoyed our stay here for 3 nights with a beautiful view and experience through its location and decoration. Also, we've tried the restaurant for a dinner once and it was fantastic, however, one drawback is the limited choices in breakfast menu that needs to be taken care of. Otherwise, you will love the stay and vibes here. Highly recommended and will visit it again.

The view of Eiger mountain from our balcony was stunning! Modern room but keep boutique style hotel. In my opinion, it’s better to book through the Hotel official website. Check-in and check-out times are quite limited, I think from 4 PM to 10 AM. It's a hostel, and the room was pretty spacious with heating. It's located on a hill, so you have to take the bus up, otherwise, walking would be exhausting. The bus service ends at 6 PM. Breakfast was good, I'd even say quite generous.

This hotel has been diligently run by four generations of the same family. The female owner is incredibly attentive to Chinese tourists, which is a big plus! The hotel's location right next to the train station is simply perfect.
