If we could leave a review of 12 out of 10 this would not be enough.. Our stay for 3 days was wonderful as nothing was too much trouble for the wonderful staff. Breakfast . Plentiful and delicious.. rooms large with comfortable beds and huge pillows.. the owner .. christof.. one of the nicest people you can meet.. he helped us set up a dinner picnic under the mountain.. so. Book early.. you will not be disappointed

We and our friends stayed at Hotel Tschuggen for a week at the beginning of March 2026. We were very satisfied with it in every way. It is a small, clean, cozy hotel with a very friendly and service-minded staff. The view from our rooms, which faced the Eiger, is so nice.

Lovely hotel. Probably best location in Grindelwald, right in the very centre. We were in a Eiger facing room, and the balcony view was amazing and so quiet. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was ok. Overall a 5 star stay in our opinion, and we hope to return soon.

Our stay in Grindelwald was nothing short of magical, thanks to this wonderful hotel. If you are looking for a blend of traditional Swiss hospitality and modern convenience, this is the place to be. The location is incredibly convenient—just a quick 5-minute walk from the train station, which made arriving and departing with luggage a breeze. Our room was a sanctuary: warm, cozy, and featured an exceptionally comfortable bed that was perfect after a long day of exploring. However, the absolute highlight was the balcony; waking up to the unbelievable, direct view of the Eiger was an experience I’ll never forget. What truly sets this hotel apart is the personalized service. You can tell the staff genuinely cares about your experience. Each morning, we enjoyed a traditional Swiss breakfast that was fresh and extensive. It included crusty breads and buttery croissants, local cheeses, cold meats, jams, fresh fruits, yogurt, granola, and authentic muesli. In an area of Switzerland known for high prices, this hotel offers exceptional value. You get the million-dollar view and high-quality service without the cold atmosphere of a massive luxury chain. I can't recommend it enough!

We have just spent a lovely 5 days here. The hotel is in a fantastic location just a short walk from the station. We had a Mountain View with balcony and the views were just incredible. We come to this area on holiday regularly but this was our first stay in Grindelwald. This hotel had the most comfortable beds and the best coffee I’ve experienced in Switzerland! The area itself has so much to offer for young and old and this hotel is a perfect base. There is plenty of option for evening meals close by. The breakfast was good and the staff were very friendly. The hotel was exceptionally clean. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again and would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a good place to stay.

Good location, very near to the train station and bus stop. Room was warm and cozy, with spectacular view from the balcony. We were greeted and treated very warmly by the hotel hosts. It is a 5 star stay that I would recommend to everyone!

The Tschuggen stands a little back from the main street of Grindelwald, and once you go on one of the Eiger side balconies you seem miles away from the bustle of the street. The views of the Eiger rooms are stunning, overlooking a small garden and the green of the valley, but the hotel is also extremely convenient for all of Grindelwald’s amenities. Rooms are simple but spotless, and the breakfast is generous. Christophe and his team are extremely helpful and kind. As Grindelwald sees many changes, it is lovely to see a place which delivers this type of service and experience. Long may it continue!

This was an absolutely wonderful family run hotel. The view from the balcony was breathtaking. Great breakfast, front desk was always willing to help answer any questions that you had. This is a nice centrally located hotel had lots of restaurants and shops nearby.
