Alpha in Saas Grund

I have stayed here at least 5 times over the last 20+ years. Isabelle and her brother do an amazing job at family-run Hotel Alpha. The location cannot be beat: right next to the Post bus, one village away from Saas Fee (and cheaper than Saas Fee as well), and the Saastal Valley is packed with things to do for more than a week. There is a Co-Op that is well stocked about 3 minutes away by walking. The food at the restaurant is delectable and the portions are huge. We got the half pension which serves 5 full courses every night. The breakfast buffet is more than sufficient. The rooms, especially those with balconies facing the Dom, are clean, well kept and sufficient--it is not a high-end luxury place, but if you are looking for a very good, clean, swiss hotel that meets all needs, this is it! I have stayed at 3 other hotels in the valley (prior to discovering Hotel Alpha) and there is a reason I keep returning to Isabelle's. Finally, the room comes with the Saastal card which gives you great benefits for the entire valley's cable car system. It is about a 2.5-3 hour drive from Geneva airport, free parking, quiet, comfortable, and wonderful staff all around!

We booked a room for a week, semi-inclusive. This hotel has some flaws but the experience you get makes it worth a 5*! The dinner surprised us every day, the landlord is mindful to our every needs and truly maked us feel a reel swiss experience. The price-quality ratio is unbeatable.

We booked our stay through TUI. The hotel and especially the staff and owners were amazing. Starting with the hospitality (being given a room earlier, as we arrived before check in time), to the comfortable rooms, which provide everything you need.

And as we had the half pension we had breakfast and dinner included. Breakfast was great, a lot of variety and dinner was each evening a 5 course dinner.

The included bus ticket for the regional bus was super handy and we used it a lot. The bus stops are less than a minute away.

Great hotel to explore the Saastal Valley. We stayed two nights to ski Saas Grund and Saas Fee ski areas. Great location 2 minutes walk from the Post bus stop to get a 8-minute bus ride direct to the Saas Fee lifts. Walking distance to Saas Grund ski area which was very impressive, even so late in the season. Friendly staff, large room with another room off it for our son. We stayed half board and enjoyed a 4-course meal every night and vegetarians are catered for. Self-service breakfast of cereal, yoghurt, bread, cheese and hams. Car parking on site, good ski /boot room. Very good value and much cheaper than staying in Saas Fee. We'll be back!

Good location. Free use of local buses and discounted hiking pass ticket. A family run hotel. The owner will greet you every morning when she is around and tried to talk to you in English. Room is warm and cozy. Breakfast is the same menu everyday. Resturant food is good. Love this place!

Our winter holiday first week jan '23 was super in this family hotel. Excellent service and friendly. Hotel room was a bit outdated but with up to date bathroom and beds made the difference. Restaurant had good food and a bar where the locals came every evening for a beer. The restaurant was full every night. Price Quality half board was excellent. Thank you for the great service and food at your hotel.

We only used the restaurant, but the place is beautiful! Excellent lighting, good hygiene and very appealing tables. We all had the Weizen beer and we loved it! Came here the next evening as well to play cards.

Very friendly service, and delicious food!
