Boutique Hotel Schlossberg in Thun

We stayed at Schloss Hotel Thun (Restaurant & Hotel Schlossberg) in the beautiful tower room after our civil wedding ceremony at Schloss Thun, and it truly made our special day even more memorable.

From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. They kindly allowed us to check in earlier, which made the whole day feel relaxed and seamless. They went above and beyond to make our stay feel special.

The team also catered our apéro after the ceremony — the drinks and food were fantastic and perfectly presented. It was such a lovely way to celebrate with our guests in such a stunning setting.

The tower room itself was wonderful — very well equipped and with breathtaking views of the lake, the church, and the Niesen. Waking up to that view the next morning was something we’ll never forget. Breakfast was also excellent, with a beautiful view to match.

We were so happy with our stay and would absolutely recommend Schloss Hotel Thun for a special occasion.

We stayed at the castle rooms here - had to book in advanced, price is very reasonable, magical for the kids, breakfast is included with a special welcome drink and coupon for lunch/dinner. Food is wonderful, service is great, spa / sauna is well kept.

If you are getting here from the train station there is a rainbow tunnel to elevators from the street so you don’t need to take the stairs, this town has such wonderful people you can ask anyone who’s extremely kind.

This is an independently run small business, so as long as you’re mindful of helping them keep such a wonderful place running for other families to also enjoy, it’s a special place.

We are an Asian-American family, so not sure what they mean by other reviews they were nothing but very respectful to us.

Value for money but you need a car in order to access the hotel as it is at the top of the hill. Should offer free access to the museum for the view as the hotel guest though but overall great experience.

This was our favorite lodging of our trip and I wish that we stayed longer than a single night. Everything was perfect. We received a welcome glass of bubbly when checking in, stayed in the panorama room, and had access to the private spa downstairs. The spa is absolutely gorgeous, very relaxing, and sparkling clean. Every detail was perfect and I want to go back to Switzerland just to stay here again.

Been to different countries and stayed at different kinds of hotels but this one really caters to their clients well. I will be staying again at this hotel when I come back to Thun

Incredible location than cannot be beat. If you are staying in a castle in Thun, stay here! My friend actually stayed here a few months before me and based on her experience, I booked right away. The views are incredible, it’s historic, and the staff are so friendly! It’s also reasonably priced! You get a welcome drink on arrival, breakfast included, can book the spa area (privately!) for free, and there is a free car service that picks you up from the Thun train station (when arranged in advance). The food was delicious and some of the most creative dishes I had in Switzerland. My husband and I stayed in the tower room and it was romantic. The only down sides were that room does not have central air. But the staff brought me a fan so quickly when they heard I was feeling warm. Also, there are a lot of pigeons that land on the window sills and you can hear the cooing. I really don’t like birds so that was challenging for me. But that’s a me problem!

Actually, Facilities: Climbing hills every day. Hygiene: Towels are not changed during consecutive stays. Environment: Not bad. There are only 10+ rooms on three floors. It is a small hotel. But the service is terrible!!!! too poor!!!!!!
Service: The emphasis is on service. The old woman in the restaurant is obviously very targeted at Chinese customers. Come on, I am a consumer. She greets all other customers with a smile, keeps saying polite words, and nods and bows. When we arrived, , I happily told her thank you, but she ignored me and just ignored me.  And this hotel is not cheap. I spent 3,300 yuan to book a room with breakfast. The breakfast was buffet, but she actually told me Said "You have eaten enough, you can't add more"? ? ? ? This is unheard of. I argued with her, but she was reluctant to add something to me with a cold face, and deliberately delayed it for a long time, wasting our time when we went out to play. By the way, such a hard baguette, I didn't eat toast while giving it. I couldn't bite after being scolded by her. I really wanted to say bad words and curse people. I have never been so angry by a hotel staff, who discriminated and treated me differently.
Facilities: Oh, by the way, don’t follow the Google map and walk the nearly 200 stone steps. It’s very tiring. Walk 80 meters further and there is an elevator leading to the parking lot that can be reached directly. The front desk is very small, even smaller than the one in the Express Hotel. Small. Don't go wrong. The air conditioner in the room cannot be turned off. It blows cold air all the time. It rained that day and the temperature dropped to 10 degrees, but the air conditioner still had to blow cold. Fortunately, there were enough quilts, so I felt better after sleeping. 

Living in a castle, it is very convenient to have an elevator directly down the mountain to the city center. The location is good, all lines pass through here, and the front desk is very friendly and can make reservations for the spa.
