Hotel Churchill in Geneva

It was very vary cold around 0 degrees outside and the heater was broken for two days. I didn’t sleep well . I almost changed the hotel. It’s also very old so don’t expect something wow.

Very old building and the guy in the reception was not friendly.

The hotel itself is not new. The furniture is antique, shabby in places. The wardrobe was shaking. There is a safe in the closet, but it doesn't work. Sound insulation is average. Wi-fi is free and satisfactory. The toilet room is arranged in an original way. To get to the sink, you first need to open the door and go behind the toilet, then close the door and move to the sink. The door prevents you from fully using the bathroom, but you can get used to it. On the wall of the toilet hangs a locked cabinet containing shaving accessories, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant with prices indicated. For example, a tube of Candida toothpaste the size of an index finger costs 936 rubles at today's exchange rate. The hotel is positioned as "4 stars". However, there are no free slippers or an electric kettle in the room. Dear hoteliers, even in Russian 4-star hotels, toothbrushes and toothpaste, slippers and an electric kettle are available and free! There is a minibar, the prices for its contents are visible in the photo. Upon check-in (10/23/2023), a hotel employee gave me the key to room 105. When I went up to the room and opened the door with the key, I found a madam unknown to me in it; all she had on was a towel. Madame, of course, was very surprised, as was I. After that, the employee gave me the key to the next room, number 106, in which, fortunately, I did not find anyone. On this day, and the next day, I contacted two different hotel employees at the reception with the question of obtaining a Geneva Transport Card. One of these employees even wrote down my e-mail and promised that they would send me a link to the transport card. As a result, I never received any letter and because of this I was very nervous. If someone told me a story about how an unfamiliar man breaks into a woman’s room, I would think it was a fiction. But he unwittingly became a participant in this story himself. So think about whether you need to live in such an amazing hotel? I am sure that for the same money you can find a newer hotel with employees who perform their duties more responsibly.
