Good location and also friendly staff. Rooms however were crazy hot. We had all doors open for whole stay (incl. the useless fan "air cooler") and were still sweating like pigs for few nights. Shower gel is packed in one of the most ridiculous packages. You are not able to open them in shower without your teeth. It's also a bit outdated hotel overall.

Price level was somewhat reasonable but during the summer time I would strongly suggest to add just a little bit of money to get a room with AC from somewhere else. It was insanely hot and damp. But as said staff was very pleasant and friendly and the location is very good for exploring Geneve.

We wanted a hotel in Old Town so we booked The Calvy. It looks much better in photos than it actually is. It's older and kind of worn. But the staff was amazing! Let us store our luggage when we arrived then let us check in at noon. The room was large with 5 twin beds which fit our needs. I'd book it again but not in the summer. No AC. We did have two portable fans but the night we stayed it was very warm ... well hot. I can't say enough about the amazing, friendly, helpful staff. When they learned we needed a taxi at 7:00 am they prepared breakfast 30 minutes early so we could eat. Great breakfast. So yes, I'd stay at The Calvy again but not during the summer.

The staff are excellent but this hotel is a bit tired. Our room had no functioning air conditioning and was too hot for comfort, even when it wasn’t that hot outside.

The dirtiest place I’ve been in my life.
A Room that was as dirty as a street market area after business and prior cleaning… stains of (probably) pee and sweat everywhere, sheets unchanged from last n-uses, hairs and body hairs everywhere including under the blanket, pillow stained of sweat, shower totally unclean, wc stained (probably) of pee or worst, towels smelling bad, doors handles and walls and buttons stained and never cleaned, etc
Would STRONGLY suggest to avoid this NIGHTMARE.

Bad price-to-quality ratio
My primary concern is the cigarette smoke odor in the hotel, and the breakfast provided was inadequate, consisting of only bread, a banana, and coffee. the price-to-quality ratio of the hotel is poor.

The staff was helpful and nice but the place is very old outdated place. It needs to be updated. It does not worth of money. They advertised that the room has air conditioner but it does not have AC at all instead they provided a room cooler which works some time only. We stayed our first night and day without even that room cooler and the owner advised us to open the windows if we need more air.

We stayed three nights there with the noise room cooler which sounds like a Rail engine. We booked a room with a good view ( which they confirmed in the email) but got NO VIEW at all. Our room was facing to other buildings.
