We had a two night stay here, the staff were all lovely and very welcoming. Prime location for the town as well as the free public transport. Having the breakfast included was a nice surprise as well, the breakfast was really good and it was never that busy. The room was a little dated however more than acceptable, on arrival it was immaculately clean which was good. Our only negative feedback would be that the rooms weren't that sound proof and we could hear everything from the landing, I'm sure this worked both ways!

Very convenient hotel close to train station and many restaurants in Geneva. The upgraded lounge is very nice. I have stayed here many times in the past few years and appreciate the many upgrades.
Breakfast is more than adequate although the staff seems to have trouble keeping up with coffee needs. Individual pots of coffee and tea would be a nice addition. In years past, thes were provided.

The Hotel Excelsior is in a really convenient location, only a couple of minutes’ walk from the main train station and within easy walking distance of Lake Geneva and the old town. There are very useful shops nearby, including a Manor department store across the road with a great food hall! The reception staff were very friendly and helpful.

The hotel looks like it has been refurbed recently – my room (a single) was very clean, a good size and had a nice bathroom. The only negative comments I would make would be that the furniture looked tired and the hotel was quite noisy, though only due to the other guests – not sure what the proprietors can do about that...

Recommended as very good value in an excellent location.

(Warning fellow travellers: be very careful with your possessions in Geneva station and on trains to/from Geneva – I had my bag stolen on the train to Zurich the day after I stayed at the Excelsior – from the luggage rack immediately above my head!!!)

Great location. Very central and close to train and bus station. Had fourth floor room overlooking court yard and was very quiet. Breakfast self service but fair selection, chicken sausages, scrambled egg, Croissants and cold meats.

Very friendly staff with every cleaner always smiling and greeting you. Nice and clean. Would have been nice to have ac rather than a fan though. Buffet breakfast is limited.

It was my first time at Geneva and I happy that we stayed at this very hotel. The service is very good, friendly guys at reception who always ready to help, to give a piece of advise, to recommend where to go. Breakfast is amazing. and one of the most important things is location: you can walk to many sightseeing's by foot.

Stayed on the hotel for two nights. It's incredibly expensive in Switzerland but this hotel offers a decent stay . The room was clean and we had a huge bathroom. We didn't check whether it had air-conditioning so it's was very warm in the room .The warmest day of the year! The hotel offered us three fans which was helpful. Reception staff were very good gave us good advice about the transport and provided us with free tram tickets. Breakfast was limited but what's on offer was of decent quality. Would stay in the hotel if they had air-conditioning or in winter.

Lovely stay at the Excelsior. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel was in a great location. Great to have free transport included, we utilised them all, bus, tram, train and boats. The breakfast was basic but did the job. Bedroom was great for 3 people and all had proper beds not bed settees which was great.

Only thing I would change is the booking system. I booked direct and just before our stay we had a payment request which was fine but it said our booking would be cancelled if no response in 36 hours. If you don't keep on top of your emails this could be a problem. Would definitely go back.

Easy walking distance from the train station. Neighborhood was a bit noisy during the day and into the evening, but the windows did a great job of closing off the noise so sleeping wasn't a problem. Breakfast was good, typical Euro hotel breakfast fare, which was just fine with us. The safe in the room and mini fridge were nice amenities and came in handy. Decent mattress and pillows, and good water pressure in the shower. All for a decent price.

Staff are excellent - friendly and helpful. The breakfast room was refurbished recently and is very smart. The buffet breakfast is sufficiently extensive and provides good quality food. The rooms have not been refurbished for a while but they are always clean, tidy and comfortable; what more can you ask for? The prices (for central Geneva) are very good. All-in-all, a very good hotel and always is.

The location is great, a very short walk from Gare Cornavin. The room was fantastic. Cost a bit more than the regular room, but it was very spacious and had a balcony overlooking the street. The hotel has an old style aesthetic with modern touches that you'll immediately notice with the elevator. The staff were helpful with suggestions and directions.
