Mbweni, Chumbe Island 🧭 Map
Our trip was a fantastic journey into wilderness and pure nature. We had spend a wonderful week with great outdoor activities and exploring the whole island. The staff was very welcoming and warmhearted. We enjoyed snorkeling, tidal walks, forest trails, crab walks and a lot more while learning more about ecological subjects. The cabins were very comfortable and the food was also absolutely delicous
We took the tour around Chumbe Island and had a truly lovely time — the scenery and overall experience were well worth it. The island is beautiful, the wildlife is fascinating, and it’s clear the guides care about sharing their enthusiasm with visitors. One small issue: during the guided walk, the guide mentioned that some baobab trees can live 15,000–20,000 years. From what I understand, that’s not...
Tropical paradise with awesome snorkeling, monstrous crabs, and beautiful birds. Staff were warm and lovely. A day trip is possible, but definitely stay overnight, if only for the Coconut Crab walking tour. They’re nocturnal.
Chombe is a little bit of heaven! I don't know where to begin in my praise for the charming staff, delicious food, interesting activities (Thankyou so much J2) and idyllic setting. A really magical experience.
Best authentic experience! Great snorkling. Eco tourism at its finest. 1 night is not enough. So glad we spent 3 nights there.
Amazing place. You are one with nature. Such ecological lodges, minimal guests, it's as if you are alone on the island.
We spotted sting rays, sharks, star fishes and many many more. The variety of corals is great. Perfect for snorkeling or just a swim.
Recommended staying 2 nights. The forest accompanying the island is great as well.

Nice place with very nice view. It's historic at the same time modern. It's green everywhere. The pool is kinda small but ok. The view though earns 5 stars, very nice and clean beach. The staff is friendly had a great conversation with the bar tender. I also liked their food, was delicious and cocktails were not bad. I had chicken and fries and a mojito. I also had a glass of strawberry milkshake which...
Everything was clean and the grounds were nicely maintained. We ate at the restaurant a couple of times and the food was good but the portions were huge. The management and staff were very nice and kind.
I hope someone is looking out for the kitties on the property. 🐈
The reason I gave 4* was due to the cash price being very high, I don't think it justifies that rate. You could get much better value...
It's was a unique experience! The reception and the front of the hotel are the Mbweni Ruins and the rooms are at the back facing the ocean. Rooms are comfortable although there were power outages here and there for short periods of time. Staff are awesome. Friendly and very helpful. Food from breakfast to dinner was delicious. Will definitely visit this hotel again. Thank you for a wonderful stay in...
The beach was awesome with great sunsets. Had a two twin bed room that was converted to a queen by combining the beds. Room was clean enough but the tiles were an off brown that made them look not so clean. The staff is very helpful, but like most islands things just tend to be slower. The food service takes a while but I appreciated it as it seemed everything was cooked when ordered. Overall a great...
This is probably the best hotel I've ever stayed in! It's beautifully situated INSIDE the ruins. The rooms are lovely and spacious - immaculately clean. The grounds are gorgeous. And above all, the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful - particularly manager Issa. He personally went above and beyond helping me with a special matter. Can't say enough good things. If I'm ever back in Zanzibar...

I'm recently had the pleasure of staying at the Zanzibar Hotel, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, making us feel right at home. The rooms were beautifully decorated, offering a perfect blend of comfort and style, and the view from our balcony was breathtaking.
I have done many bookings by checking a hotel online largely with positive outcomes but this one, I missed properly. It was a disappointment considering its price and name. First, the access road is rough and unpaved with entrance looking a bit shady. Far from what I expected after seeing stunning images online. Secondly, for 90 USD, I expected at least a hotel with some basic facilities like a...
Megan is the absolute best manager we have ever dealt with in hotel experiences. We love Zanzibar and this is definitely a place we would stay in again. Super clean, although not directly on the water, the view on the rooftop was amazing for the sunset. 5 min walk from nighttime food market and 2 mins from the port. We had 14 pieces of luggage and we were tended to perfectly. We got engaged here...
A satisfying travel experience.
Sanitation in general, poor facilities, plastic feeling
I recently stayed at a hotel located in downtown that unfortunately had a few drawbacks. Firstly, the internet speed was very slow, which was quite frustrating as I needed to do some work during my stay. Additionally, the location of the hotel was right in the midst of busy traffic, making it quite noisy and chaotic outside.
However, there were some positives to the hotel. The rooms were clean, and...

Dar es Salaam, Harbour View Towers Samora Avenue 🧭 Map
The facilities were rather old, the rooms had an odor, and the breakfast was just average.
We enjoyed our stay. The staff was very friendly, breakfast was good, and the location was convenient. The room was a bit musty at first, but clean. The hotel arranged airport transfer, and it was very smooth though traffic in Dar Es Salaam is especially bad so allow for plenty of time. The hotel was a great spot to explore the city.
OK, the room is clean and the breakfast is rich
The hotel is overall good and satisfactory, located on the 11th to 13th floors. The restaurant is decent, and the location in the city center is quite nice. The rooms are large and spacious, offering good value for money. However, the gym could be a bit more modern, and the pool is relatively small. Otherwise, as mentioned, everything is fine.
The services at the hotel were great, we were well received and catered for. Great location, there is mall nearby so you basically have access to everything you need, good spacious rooms. The only challenged is the facilities look a bit old and need to be upgraded, Because the pictures show new facilities however when you get there its not what is potrayed in the pictures this was a bit dissapointing
Just back from Daressalaam. Stayed at Harbourview and must say was pleasantly surprised at the quality of customer service, cuisine and their massive unit sizes with fabulous Harbour views for the pricepoint; not to mention their very central location.
A huge thank you to Hemant the GM who was not only very attentive but remarkably visible on a daily basis interacting with guests and addressing any...

We absolutely loved our stay. Every single staff member worked so hard to give us a very special week. We cannot recommend this little gem highly enough.
Another trip to Jambiani on Zanzibar. This time to stay again at the Sharazad Boutique Hotel. Perfectly situated on the beach. Rooms of various types that are well appointed with comfortable beds. Excellent friendly staff and very good food. We would certainly go again either as a couple or with family. Sharazad ticks all the right boxes for us.
Beautiful quiet location in Jambiani, wonderful staff and serene atmosphere, perfect for relaxation and recharging. Cannot recommend enough.
Really amazing hotel, it feels very luxurious but beautifully blended with nature. The fact that the hotel has 4 different pools is also great for cooling off after using the Jungle gym. The staff were all very friendly from check in to departure. I’ll definitely be back!
my husband and I spent four nights at the Sharazad in Jambiani and we had a wonderful experience. nice and clean room, kind and professional staff, great food and drinks and - on top of all these - an incerdible spa run by two brothers who love their job. the place itself is very nice and despite it is not easy to swim (because of the tides), there are many activities either on the beach or nearby...

Lovely hotel in a great beach location, 10 seconds walk from hotel to sea. Food really nice, had fantastic fish soup. Staff very friendly and helpful. Tide goes out really far and is good area to find starfish. Kite surfing all along beach.
The hotel was everything we hoped for and more. The room was clean, dry, and comfortable, with no unpleasant smells or signs of dampness. Everything felt well-maintained, and we didn’t see a single insect indoors during our entire stay. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing, and the beds made it easy to get a good night’s sleep.

Dhow Inn is the epitome of a great hotel right on tbe beach. Cool calm colours, top service and amazing pools. Its very relaxed without that big plastic resort feel. 10 out of 10!

We had a wonderful stay at this resort in Zanzibar, located right on the oceanfront. The location is spectacular, with beautiful views and a perfect atmosphere for relaxation. We stayed here for a week after our safari. The hotel is slightly out of the main resort, but there are lots of places to eat & drink nearby still. An outstanding resort to relax and unwind in Zanzibar. We visited at the end of a safari on the mainland and couldn’t have picked a better place to stay. Margaret and her team couldn’t do enough for us and ensured we always had what we needed. Definitely...
Beautiful ambient surroundings & clean environment by the sea with friendly staff. & serving tasty food as well. Good deals are also offered to non- residents who wish to swim & have meals in the hotel as well.

You cannot have more than this. Excellent position, quiet, large rooms well equipped, with lovely forniture, rooms are resetted twice a day. Cuisine is fantastic, menu change everyday with International and local dishes. It is a wonderful place where staying in Zanzibar.
There is barely any pool at the property. Slightly bigger pool at the neighboring hotel. Food is really overpriced
Rooms and grounds were very clean and well maintained. Staff were super friendly. Breakfast was superb.
Everything was wonderful, starting with impeccable service, staff is so attentive and make you feel so welcome. The location and the beach is stunning, the rooms are beautifully decorated and spacious, the restaurant has an excellent menu. I highly recommend! And I also loved the spa!
Wonderful Boutique Hotel with a nearby 'sister' hotel. We took the half board plan (breakfast and dinner) and at lunch dined at some of the other near by resorts. The employees were extremely friendly and helpful everyday. The food was quite good at both resorts. The intimacy of this resort was great. Beach has some of the finest, softest white sand we've ever walked on. What a joy to stay here. Highly...
Setting was lovely as were the staff. The food was very good but the room was very basic. Very small, no chair and nowhere to put luggage, only on the floor which was difficult and a trip hazard. I stayed at this hotel upon arrival and departure from Zanzibar. The first time it was a short and enjoyable stay. Beautiful resort, quiet and tranquil. All staff were so friendly and helpful any time of day! The apartments were so clean with added extras like soaps, shampoos, clean towels every day. This hotel is convenient to everything in Stone Town which is great. Staff are really kind and helpful and rooms are clean.
