Dar es Salaam, Kariakoo 🧭 Map
Located in the edges of kariako offering great value for money. The service is great and the rooms are clean. Although they have clear doors for the bathroom which doesnt offer privacy in the double room option
Relaxing hotel with full Ac and I like there's hot water if you want to take bath I watch football match in the room and no need to take stairs you can use lift instead it's have many service and a restaurant near hotel
I work with a tour company First my clients stayed for 2 days without WIFI second . The location is not conducive Third.... Our tour bus was clamped when at the hotel's parking for no reason yet we had proper documentation but the hotel didn't help Fourth beware of the lift ... My colleague and i got stuck for 5 minutes without anyone to help us
So far so good. I had the privilege to meet with Mr Wilson a very nice guy. Thank you BUTTERFLY HOTEL
No i did not hate the place. The hotel is good and as well its provide good services most of all it has an affordable price and is located at the Dar es salaam CBD.
Situated on a rough road centre of the market area. Convenient for buying almost anything you need. Reception staff very friendly. Lift working fine, a must for a 20-storey building Small clean aircon room. Double mattress uncomfortable. But what the heck for $15 what do you expect.

Dar es Salaam, 1216 Maryknoll Lane Masaki PO Box 110331 🧭 Map
Alexander's Hotel is an oasis, perfectly situated in Masaki. The owner has done a wonderful job in creating a welcoming and relaxing space that offers a pool, a tasteful breakfast/reading room, and wonderful outside green spaces to sit under and read. At the same time it is only a short stroll to the shops, restaurants and the buzz of The Slipway. Though you might never want to leave the grounds: the...
We were recommended to stay at Alexander’s by a friend who spends a lot of time in Africa and I am very grateful we were because it was a fantastic experience from beginning to last. The rooms were huge, clean and had good a/c. The food was delicious, especially the dinners and we ate in both nights. The roof top dining room and bar is extremely comfortable with several locals eating, so you know it...
Alexander’s is a hidden gem. Tucked away on a side street in Masaki, it offers an oasis of tranquility with rooms surrounding a gorgeous garden and tiled pool. Each room is individually curated with local art and toiletries from Zanzibar. The service is excellent on all levels. Even if you don’t stay at the hotel, the restaurant on the rooftop terrace is worth a visit. The food is amazing - by far...
A privately run hotel , probably falls in the boutique category. Nice private and despite construction quiet hotel with a lovely courtyard and pool. Rooms are comfortable and well appointed, but don’t expect shiny rooms. All the staff are really helpful and polite, as with the owners they are always available without being overbearing. Nothing was too much trouble. From reservation to checkout Gordon...
A really fantastic, most special place. Gordon and his team‘s hospitality is outstanding, always friendly and the serice is so personal. Gordon even greeted us personally when we arrived from our international flight ar 6am and kindly offered us a later breakfast, which we truly appreciated. When I asked for a bandaid he brought a whole package for me from the supermarket. In addition to the people...
We stayed at Alexander's Hotel during December of 2023. Quite simply the stay was highly enjoyable, as the hotel is excellent. The hotel is owned and managed by Gordon Alexander, who is a great host who runs a very nice hotel and restaurant. I believe that you would be hard pressed to find a better place to stay in Dar es Salaam, as the hotel is clean, safe, and conveniently located in the Masaki...

It’s a place that you’ll always want to get back to.
The Green Oysterbay Apartments are fantastic! The services are excellent, the staff are so lovely and always helpful, and the atmosphere feels welcoming and comfortable. A special mention to the manager, Aisha she is absolutely wonderful and makes everything run so smoothly. Highly recommend staying here!
Cannot fault this place at all. Clean, spacious, great location, love the pool and the restaurant is amazing. The staff at the restaurant are super attentive and friendly. We can definitely call this spot in dar, our home away from home. We will definitely be back...
Spacious and very clean. Good air conditioning in place.
Really a great place to stay. Clean and very spacious apartments, nice pool, friendly staff and top location. Good restaurant in the same building. The mangament is top notch and does everything to make your stay comfortable. I will surely stay here again.
It was really great staying at these apartments. It was conveniently located to the city CBD but lovely and quiet. The apartment we stayed in was very spacious, comfortable, and clean. Will definitely stay here again.

Dar es Salaam, Nelson Mandela Road, Ubungo 🧭 Map
It's good to stay close to airport for some reason. (Flight mess, transit...) But not for relaxation or long stay
After a long day of sightseeing and exploring the bustling streets of the city, the hotel provided a peaceful and luxurious retreat. From the moment we stepped through the grand, historic entryway, we were captivated by the elegant ambiance that permeated the property. Our room was spacious and beautifully appointed, with plush bedding, high ceilings, and large windows overlooking the tranquil lake...
The waiter was very enthusiastic
A pretty okay hotel The hotel is decent for it's price level, but there were a few things that affected our experience in a negative manner. First of all, the aircondition in our room (room 105) had been tampered with so that the efficiency of the aircon was at perhaps 20%. This is common in Tanzania in order to save electricity, but the result was that we felt very hot and had difficulty sleeping...
Thank you for all the conveniences in the trip.com app. Flight tickets are very cheap. Cheaper than anywhere We will travel with trip.com to travel comfortably around the world.
wifi didnt work bulbs missing in room staff excellent sink only gave hot water a mystery why they give "1 towel" only per room even if 3 people staying in the room?

Its a good hotel located 4 kms from Julius Nyerere International Airport. The prices range from 25$ to 50$.they have reliable airport shuttle service and good rooms and meals Would recommend it to any Traveller
I’m very impressed with the service at Kigala Hotel. I had such a wonderful and relaxing time. Thanks a lot 🫶
It's a relatively nice hotel near to the city centre. Rooms range from 40,000 to 80,000 (they have changed the prices, not sure of the current rates). The 80,000 rooms are bigger, but face the road which is quite busy and I could still hear cars and motorcycles even from the 5th floor. So I slept in the 50,000 rooms when I went again, and although smaller most of the things are the same and these are...
I will always stay in this hotel when I visit Dar es Salaam. I stayed for ten days, and it felt like home. The price is affordable, and the customer service is superb. The receptionists and kitchen staff are charming (there are some simba fans we joked like we knew each other for long). The breakfast is truly amazing. I never thought I would find such a great hotel in a location like Buguruni. Keep...
Definitely will stay again for another visit in the city....salute to all staffs and management, it was nice, perfect. Im Muslim and my visit was on Ramadan but the Hotel offered Iftaar for all muslims even though me and my wife had to place a different order for Iftaar based on our likes and was nice afterall. We felt like home and thats what we needed. Thank you.

If you're doing a large, complicated character with radio controls, it might take a number of people several months to make it and if you're talking about a quick little hand puppet, it could be made in 2 days, so there's enormous range there, and no real easy generalities.
A very big and comfortable rooms! Very spacious! The bathroom needs serious renovation, and they are very tiny. Power sockets should at least be near the bed, but you have to walk a step or two to get to the socket.
Very calm environment, good for hiding if you know what I mean 😂
Good place and affordable, just need to refurbish their rooms
friendly staffs, quiet and nice place, small parking lots, enjoyed staying there, security is there, rooms are nice and big enough, misses elevator

Dar es Salaam, Plot 204, Haile Selassie Road 🧭 Map
Had a great 2 night stay here...beautiful big rooms, quiet and good value for money. It's right at the heart of Masaki, and although it's literally next door to Samaki Samaki it's still quiet since the rooms are sound proofed. The hotel is a bit old though and in need of a few renovations.
There's restaurant AND hotel. The hotel is quite good.👍🏽 They upgrade your room if there is not much other customers. The restaurant is surprisingly popular.🤔 The location is about in the middle of Masaki central area with walking distances.
Authentically Chinese. Good flavors and wide range of veg and non veg options to choose from. The waiters had good knowledge of the food being served. The fried brinjals are a must starter. Enough safe parking safe in the compound. Waiting time for food around 20mins. Average spend per person 30,000/- TSHS.
A Taste of Home The food here is fantastic! I especially loved the eggplant chips. And the side condiments? Absolutely amazing! The green chilies and onions in vinegar are a perfect complement, and the chili oil is my absolute favorite. It's a real shame you can't find these kinds of authentic condiments in Chinese restaurants in the UK.
The food was authentic chinese prepared by chinese chef and the ambience took me back to China. The food was tasty and the presentation was good and it has hotpot. The hotel is easy to locate and has lot of space to accomodate a lot of people. Dumplings and chicken were our favorite dishes
Really great value for money, clean and spacious rooms, mostly aimed at chinese people but we didn't feel weird as europeans there. They have a kind of chinese style breakfast with dim sum and it was good, actually likes it more than continental.

Vert serene and Great location, nice view of the ocean. Very very slow service. There is a charge of Tsh5000 entrance free that is paid cash and you have to pay as long as you get inn no matter how much you spend on food and drinks.
We stayed at Kajiji Beach Resort from the evening of the 21st Dec to the morning of 27th December. We arrived late on the 21st so went straight to our room, lovely air conditioned and clean Linen. We went to the dinning area the following morning and sadly walked past a resort that was dirty with plastic cups bottles paper napkins and bottles scattered all over. We had our breakfast, and returned to...
My wife and I stayed here for 12 hours, but that was by choice due to an extended layover at Dar es Salaam. We selected Kijiji to be near the beach, it has a pool and a decent room to relax it while we wait for our flights. The taxi to the hotel costs $35, and upon check in, we waited for about an hour for our room (we checked in early, so no fault on the hotel here). Area grounds were nice, but for...
The biggest advantages of this resort are the food, the beach, and the staff. The rooms are basic but comfortable and clean. The only issues I had were with the AC remote, which kept breaking, and the drain in the shower, which was clogged (but it was fixed quickly). The swimming pool wasn’t very clean, so I didn’t use it. The spa is cheap but not really worth a visit, I paid for a 1-hour massage and...
Rooms are so good, and having a dressing room, bathrooms are also really good. Beds are also so comfortable with a mosquito net, WIFI is perfect. Restaurant food is good with a moderate pricing, and bar is also excellent. There are so friendly rabbits roaming inside the hotel complex, but they get scared so easily. Water in the pool is always foggy, so I could not swim in it. Swimming in the ocean...

Very safe and clean place for the price friendly and hard working staff especially james in reception not forgetting kaka ally in the kitchen would recommend this hotel for the location
Nice no-thrills hotel, ideally located in the centre of the commercial heart of Dar, next to the Kisutu market and opposite the City mall. Rooms are large, simple and clean for a very reasonable price; excellent internet connection. Breakfast, though very basic, is included in the price. Massage service offered for a reasonable price. Safe and secure place, with excellent and helpful reception (James...
I didn't get the room I booked on booking but it was good enough. The service was great, especially Farad. The staff helps you order from a variety of restaurants and will bring to your room if you want. And the AC worked well. $18-20 a night with Aircon and very light breakfast (toast and coffee)
This hotel is a budget one but its very clean and beds are great to sleep on. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms get cleaned daily so no issues. I had no issues staying here and would book again when in DAR next.
First stay my bedside table was covered in something sticky. This stay the front desk had to call someone to see if my airport taxi was actually booked and they stapled my bags when I left them for the day? (They put a paper on it, to mark it’s mine) It’s just small holes but come one, why damage someone’s property? And they left them out in an open area where, yes there was the reception desk, but...

Real and precious African village life experience. Every day we have a rich breakfast and dinner, playing with the children, watching animals in the yard, and learning batik in the workshop ... I feel that I have become a member of the family. I couldn't help crying when I left, it was an unforgettable memory.
"Eazy" Emil is an awesome, amazing individual, so helpful, funny, relaxed, he is a favorite manager indeed, if you want the real rural experience, unplugging from the digital matrix, than this is for you, beware of blood sucking insects
A warm welcome from the host and a lovely evening meal. Room was clean and comfortable. Simple but good value.
The place is very good and interesting
Loved it, down to earth and real place set in friendly local village
Basic but great value. However, the main point should be that it is extremely welcoming, a lovely atmosphere and the best introduction to Tanzania and Tanzanian lifestyle. Must like dogs, chickens and life.

Very cool restaurant and nice food
A nice place to spend the night it almost 30 minutes from the main bus terminal and almost an hour to the Airport. Prices range between 40-60k Tzs. Really comfy with breakfast in the morning but no room service, I noticed that
Well I haven't used the rooms but for sure the services here are good. They are fast, good costumer care , and they really got nice food😋😋😋 and good prices too.... The only downside is that small parking area ...but it doesn't count for me.
I had a chance to stay here for 3 nights. I loved the simplicity and privacy of this hotel. It is old but has been kept well. The restaurant serves nice chicken too. Accommodation is quite affordable generally.

Basic hotel for one night if you need to stay near the airport. Free pickup from airport. Food is terrible. Good price.
I would like to thank receptionist that was working on 28/29.8.2022 for her amazing approach. Since I was destroyed after my day and I needed to wake up early for my another flight, she was very helpful with everything. Asante sana.
While not top end, still quite a good facility, despite the surrounding properties doing it a disservice. Very friendly and helpful staff. Quiet, which is a plus. Even though the soundproofing is poor. Remember triple glazing isn't for everyone.

The hotel is located in good area however most facilities particular plumbing, toilets, walls, lack renovations and look old. On the other hand I give it 3 star as rooms are small, no good chairs and table, no television. Manager need to invest on improvement and renovation
The bath room wasn't good the shower leaks aside no elevator Inshort the place is like abandoned
Good place but a bit noise from the market, poor customer service from the kitchen
It's located at the best way for a person whois in need for shelter since it's on the closest to the road about 5m from the main road via NIT UNIVERSITY ROAD.the fee for accommodation is about 25$
The rates are very reasonable but that explains why there is not enough parking space, the WiFi is okay and it is near a noisy place.
Great facilities, very friendly, polite and efficient staff. To Christian Wischnewski, if you find mosques an "annoyance" in a majority Muslim country, and Tanzanian standards too low for your preference, please don't visit Tanzania again. Thanks.

One of my favourite get-away place off the busy and hectic Dar es Salaam city. The place offers breath-taking views, serenity, clean and safe beaches. Simply defines the value of life.

Without a doubt the best hotel in Dar. The staff are welcoming, friendly, always with a smile and will do their best to provide so many additional requests. After staying at other hotels in Dar I will never stay anywhere else. Outstanding accomodation with magnificent views
I think 4 stars might be stretching it a bit. Maintenance is subpar. Hotel is labyrinthine with multiple elevators that only access certain floors.
