Santa Maria Coral Park in Pongwe

My experience at Santa Maria was beautiful! The people here are very welcoming, the bungalows are very close to the beach, it s such a nice and quiet place. We stayed here at the end of april and we had the beach for ourselves! If you love nature and being in contact with it this is the place for you! If you have a problem with the windows not having glass, and hearing the rain or the bushbabys, then stay at home 😅. Thank you for everything! Asante sana!

By far the best place I've stayed in, and I'm saying this as a person who travels a lot throughout Asia, the Caribbean and other tropical destinations, typically staying in 5* resorts and all kind of sorts of boutique hotels. This place is different to any of them, but just truly awesome. Rooms are nice and cleaned daily, the staff is very helpful and attending. But the place itself... It's just a real hidden gem. Waking up each day to the sound of the ocean, walking to the breakfast barefoot, just enjoying the view of the beautiful palm trees garden around you. Very authentic and very peaceful, beautiful place. Surrounding beach is quiet, stunning and empty. In the evenings you get to feed the bush babies, in the mornings you just enjoy your coffee listening to the sound of the nature around you. Best place to relax and enjoy your beachlife. Will definitely come back. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Best hotel on the island. We all have different tastes but for us when we go to Tanzania we want local Tanzania hotel with a taste of tradition. Santa Maria is the best at that.We have done most islands and we couldn’t find anything like Santa Maria . It feels like being alone on a private island, the cool breeze, the beautiful decoration. Santa Maria is simply the best and for us the fact that it is for a Tanzanian owner is amazing because we don’t want to go to Tanzania just to go to an Italian hotel or restaurant. Isn’t it better to go to Italy? The service is just excellent, the food and the staff, just go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable. We visited with the children and in the evening when we wanted to take a walk along the beach, they offered to watch the kids as they played. The rooms are traditional and just the taste of Tanzania.breakfast offers the local Tanzania chapati restaurant. I can’t describe this hotel enough plus it is a budget hotel. If you are looking for total relaxation in your get away paradise it’s here! It’s the only place with a super quiet beach, empty with no one to try and sell you things or tour guides, you could walk a long way On-The-Go beach and not see another person. You are almost in the film . Lost. You walk out of your room and onto the super soft sand. Cest tellement tranquille, j‘adore infinniment! They also serve continental dishes however, it is the Tanzania traditional meals for me. It’s simply authentic! Located on the jungle beach where you see visiting monkeys come to your room! It has healing power from depression really!

Very nice and chill place. The view is amazing and they clean up the beach. The staff is really helpful and give you a warm welcome. We had problems with the local atm and they helped us out. The food was amazing and if you stay awake you can see some cute bushbabys in the night. Ask the staff about them and they teach you and show you a lot about them. 10 out of 10! Would like to stay forever

Food was good and affordable, service was prompt and friendly. They did not have some things as the tourist season had just begun. It was not busy

My girlfriend and I had planned our trip first to Pongwe and later to Nungwi, but since we had so much privacy and were surrounded by such great people at Santa Maria Coral park, we chose to stay here for the remainder of the holiday. The cabins are delicious, large and beautiful and the whole resort is well thought out regarding places to relax and chill during the day.

The food is the best we got on the whole of Zanzibar, we tried a lot of food on trips to Stone Town and Nungwi, (perfectly arranged by the Resort) and on the nearby restaurants, but no food could match what we got here.

Thank you so much to the kitchen for the amazing food! Thanks to Naomi and Musa for the great service and thanks to Yasser for making our vacation absolutely perfect! Hope too see you all again one day.
