Jafferji Beach Retreat, in Matemwe

Our stay at Jafferji Beach Retreat was absolutely exceptional from beginning to end. Munis, the manager, truly made all the difference. He was outstanding, always helpful, incredibly kind, and full of great advice. Whether it was recommendations for activities or simply making sure we were comfortable, he went above and beyond every single day. The location is simply breathtaking. The beach is stunning, peaceful, and feels like a hidden paradise. Waking up to the sound of the ocean and the view was magical. The staff as a whole deserves special mention. Everyone was warm, attentive, and genuinely caring, making us feel welcome and at home throughout our stay. The level of service was impeccable and heartfelt. Jafferji Beach Retreat is not just a place to stay. it’s an experience. We will definitely return and highly recommend this beautiful retreat to anyone looking for relaxation, authenticity, and outstanding hospitality in Zanzibar.

What an incredible paradise to soak up the sun and savour mouthwatering dishes crafted by the talented chef! We had the pleasure of staying in the breathtaking “Mapenzi room,” which opens up to stunning beach views. The attentive staff is always ready to cater to your every need, making you feel right at home. I can't recommend this fantastic retreat enough for anyone itching for a getaway to the magic of Zanzibar!

Rooms were very clean , food was perfect , nice swimming pool with beach 20 meter. I am tanzanian but I can say this is one of best place I ever went👌 !!!

The location is at Matenwe in Zanzibar. A bit difficult to get ro but an absolute treasure. It's a retreat place but more like a resort.

Directly opposite the beach, great pool, fine location and overall great staff. I'll like to visit again.

We had a great time at Jafferji Beach Retreat, thanks to the wonderful team. They're really doing their best to make you feel at home. Great cook as well, we really enjoyed the food. Accessing the hotel is kinda challenging (bumpy road is far from reality :-) ) and you'll have to drive (or to be driven) quite a bit to reach points of interest, but it's part of the charm ;-)

Lovely place to stay. Food was ok. Room very spacious and beautifully decorated. Massage was absolutely beautiful. The staff were very attentive and friendly, the manager was a bit of an opportunist and will try get extra $$ when he gets a chance.
Overall beautiful place. Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful hotel. The room was clean with an amazing view of the ocean. Restaurant was really good and fresh! Our new favourite place in Matemwe.

The property is well kept, cozy and very pretty; our room was clean, spacious and comfortable.
The restaurant is excellent! The service is a little slow (no issue for us), the staff is friendly, the food is delicious and not expensive.
Cherry on the cake: 1. We loved the shampoo & body wash offered by the resort; 2. The live band on Wednesday was a great surprise and so much fun!
