Zanzibar Bahari Villas in Matemwe

As a hotel experience, this was the worst ever. Although we had booked 8 months in advance, when we came, it turned out that they had overbooked 6 rooms!!
So instead of spending 3 nights in one place we ended up being shuffled around in two different, significantly poorer quality places.

First, into a hotel by the same company, that was not finished, and not by the beach.
Then, we were moved to an untidy upper floor of an other unfinished building 800 m away. It felt someone living there was forced to move out, since there was a guy sleeping under the staircase.

Not until getting really mad, and having the travel agency contact several times, did we get any compensation.
The poor communication was the worst part, as we were explaining the situation to lots of people and were actually informed by there being a problem by other guests and by the driver, not by the hotel staff in the reception although they were sitting next to us.

After getting the room on the third and final day of the stay, I really enjoyed the shower.

The place, however, is fantastic and the pool by the beach is beautiful.

The pictures are not from the hotel, but the place were we slept the second night
