The place was great, staff was great. The maasai workers were helpful, especially Elias! The breakfast was good. The place was clean. I didn't rate it 5 star because it didn't have any real wow factors, but it was still a pleasant stay. Location: Conveniently located to many places in stone town. And very close to the highly recommended restaurant Luk Maan! Steps away from forodhani gardens/market...
The hotel is in a very convenient location. It is a short walk to the Forodhani Gardens and the former Slave Market. There are several restaurants closeby especially a very popular one Lukmaan. The area around the hotel is bustling in the day and quiet at night. A taxi cannot drive up to this property so you will to do a short walk through the streets to get there. The staff were friendly and always...
Very good value for money. Staff are especially accommodating and very nice. Rooms were clean with regular turn downs and aircon and mosquito net. Coffee and tea for the rooms and great location for walking Stone Town and the pool is lovely! Plus the prettiest hotel cat and a buffet breakfast. If/when we return, we will definitely stay again.
Very good…Love the location beacause you are able to access everywhere and very safe as well…

An absolute gem! Everything from the atmosphere to the service was top-notch. I highly recommend visiting if you’re looking for an authentic and memorable experience. Can’t wait to come back!
The rooms are quite old and could benefit from renovation. When I entered the room, I felt a bit uncomfortable, though this may have been due to tiredness after travel. I stayed for one night and noticed some marks on my feet the next morning.
I did ask for a room change, but the hotel was fully occupied at the time, and since my stay was short, I decided to continue. I wasn’t feeling well for a few...
I stayed at Golden Tulip Zanzibar recently and the experience was mixed. The property itself is nice and the majority of the staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and welcoming — they really made the stay pleasant.
However, the behavior of the woman who appeared to be the manager could have been much better. She was noticeably rude and not as approachable as the rest of the team, which left a negative...
Everything was perfect I like so much it's the best hotel where I was living.
Had a misunderstanding regarding the city tax payable and Jacky was patient and went out her way to resolve the issue. Rooms were clean and sprayed in the evening for mosquitoes was an elegant touch. Best thing about this hotel was the buffet breakfast Chef’s kiss paired with an amazing view of the ocean. No alcohol served but rooms have a fridge do you can bring your own. Would definitely visit again...
The services were good, good food, and the place was indeed clean. The stuff were so welcoming and good

room is clean, breakfast is freshly made.
it is worthy and nice hotel.
Excellent stay at this lovely hotel! I can’t recommend it enough. It was an incredible price for the location and service. Very comfortable and clean room, great location near everything but on a quiet, tucked away block. Fabulous service and assistance from all of the staff. Arriving a bit late to breakfast hours and hoping maybe I can grab a bit of left over fruit- “no problem” and served me a full...

The sheif is very good
Breakfast is simple and fresh and super tasty
Love yhe stay
The hotel has a great location, situated near the beach in Stone City, next to the Hyatt Park Hotel. The hotel is very clean, the service is good, and the breakfast on the top floor is excellent!
I don't recommend it... everything is very old, the plumbing is yellow, the furniture is rusty, the price does not correspond to reality
Stayed at this hotel for two days with my wife ,the hotel stuff were very friendly and helpful made our stay memorable would not mind to stay here when I visit stone town again.

This hotel is definitely not a 4-star property as advertised. The reception manager was not particularly friendly or welcoming, which made the experience less pleasant. The rooms were ok with very few amenities. That said, there are some positives. The breakfast was excellent, with fresh fruit and delicious local pastries offered each morning. Abdulhamid was especially helpful — he went out of his...
Staff was friendly; gave great guest service. Overall stay was exceptional. Variety of breakfast options was very good. I would definitely recommend to others. Hotel is very clean and well managed. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great location and overall nice hotel for Zanzibar. Very close to tourist attractions, everything on walking distance. Clean and spacious rooms. Breakfast was limited but with amazing fruit selection
The location is good, very close to the sea, and next to the castle (one of the castles) of Stone Town. The front desk is nice, the room is big and clean, with hot water. After climbing Kilimanjaro and safari in the Serengeti, it felt like a break for the first time. Breakfast was barely edible.
Nice hotel. Great location. They had a nice roof top but too bad no roof top bar.
We slayed at this hotel for almost two weeks. It is next to water front and one can enjoy the beautiful evenings at water front without loss of time. Further, one can make frequent visits in the streets of Stone houses. The Manager Mr. Abdullah was very helpful. He was always out to help us in any matter from finding a taxi or any other assistance needed. As one is next to the coast, a boat could...

Everything was great! It's so convenient to be by the beach, the breakfast was very varied and delicious, and the pool was great too
A gorgeous hotel right in the center of events. We had a huge room with a view of the ocean and the port, with a large balcony. The only thing is that it was named after the famous slave trader, Tippu Tip. I didn't understand why, it was awkward.
But the rest of the hotel is wonderful. Very interesting. You can look at the artifacts that the hotel is full of for a long time. There is a swimming pool...
Wide view, large room, clean and sanitary, rich breakfast variety
Very good! Good room, good facilities, good service. Right by the sea, beautiful scenery, convenient.
The hotel is built on an old house. To be fair, it is very unique. Some corners of the hotel are very photogenic during the day, but the shortcomings are also obvious. First of all, the lighting in the house is insufficient, especially at night, the overall feeling is very old under the dim light, and it does not look clean and hygienic enough. However, considering the price, it is still relatively...
Very close to the ferry to Dar es Salaam.
The hotel building is very historic.
The room is large and the sea view is right outside the window.
The breakfast is rich.
The restaurant is on the balcony facing the sea.

The food i mean lunch that we had on those two days is amazing
My wife and I had an excellent stay at Island Paradise Inn. The service, customer care, room, bed, and breakfast were all of the highest quality! I would gladly stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Stone Town, Zanzibar. You are amazing 🙏🙏
I visited Paradise Inn during my trip to Zanzibar, and it was a pleasant experience. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained, with a beautiful view that made the visit even more enjoyable. Amazing staff. Highly recommend staying here. It’s walking distance to stone town. Rooms were clean and had air con.
1. Friendly staff
2. A walk to Stone Town
3. For families with our "kittens", there's a room for that
4. Included breakfast but you will have to outsource lunch and dinner (aplenty in Stone Town)
My stay at this hotel was excellent. The owners of this hotel are very good. They are hands on and very active and always ready to help. The rooms are clean and tidy and have a working air conditioning system. Therefore,i will not hesitate to recommend this hotel to others
Seeing the reviews I was a bit worried about this one but they were great! Communication was a bit sporadic prior to the stay, but once I called them and got their number, they were brilliant. They were super apologetic about any miscommunications, arranged us a bus pick up from the ferry port for our group (even though it's close by) and upgraded one of our rooms. The staff were lovely, rooms very...

Hotel is cheap, location is good for port. Air con did not work first night as control was broken - the hotel noticed this on showing us to the room but chose to ignore and not tell us so uncomfortable 1st night. We had a wonderful stay and couldn’t have asked for a better welcome. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, we arrived very early in the morning and were pleasantly surprised when they offered us breakfast and allowed us to check in early.

It is one of the best hotel I've ever stayed. Excellent room, staff, services. The hotel and the rooms are in traditional Zanzibar architecture style, which gave me great experience. Staff is considerate and detail oriented. The dinner at the rooftop is wonderful.

Nice hotel with budget pricing.
Great place, amazing people 😄
The hotel rooms are spacious with balconies and the location of the hotel is in the middle of stone town easy access to everything
Nice staff
I arrived after dinner, and they thought I was a no-show so they gave up my premium room. The next day they moved me to a nice room. The place itself is definitely not fancy. But the staff were all super nice and helpful. The people in Zanzibar are pretty nice and fantastic though, so there’s that.
The hotel is on the roadside, next to a school, and quite noisy.
The facilities are old, there is only soap in the bathroom, the smell in the room is not very friendly, and the most important thing is that the price is very high, and the cost performance is very low.
its a hotel locaited at town near to stone town city, Zanzibar urban town cuty, its lively place with 5 star service, not far from airport and also very near to port.

Traditional hotel in Stone town and great sea view from rooftop restaurant. Budget friendly and clean. Dedicated staff and helpful
Great location, amazing architectural history
A wonderful hotel, fabulous location, bristling with architectural history - a stunning building.
On the room - there was no safe; bed too big for the room layout (a big bed is a good thing); the mattress was a bit "tired"; TV channels poor - needs DSTV ..... otherwise fabulous
I paid circa $50 for one night here on a work trip. For that price I think it was a complete bargain.
Location is great, no night clubs / chickens crowing next door so quiet. I didn’t have breakfast there so can’t comment on food (so many choices within a 5-10 min walk).
This is not a luxury hotel like a Hyatt or Serena. Instead it’s bursting with Stone Town character, amazing location,...

All clean and very polite staff. Breakfast was amazing.
I absolutely loved this hotel. The location was perfect, it was in the heart of stone town. Felt very safe, also felt like you were living like a local. The room was very spacious. The food was great. Breakfast had many options & the food from the restaurant was a 10/10. There’s also many things to do in the area such as shop, museums or even restaurants.
The hotel is great, we were treated very well and the rooms are comfortable and well equipped.
Best bed and breakfast we've ever been to.. We had spent our honeymoon there and couldn't have been more happier that we picked Tembo b&b..
Good location - in the center of everything in Stone town. They don’t have water coolers for clients - you have to go to the restaurant to refill.
Also: it seems they bought another building. So they accommodated us in like 200 meters from main facility. Surely it’s kind of inconvenient but still ok.

Everything was clean and the grounds were nicely maintained. We ate at the restaurant a couple of times and the food was good but the portions were huge. The management and staff were very nice and kind.
I hope someone is looking out for the kitties on the property. 🐈
The reason I gave 4* was due to the cash price being very high, I don't think it justifies that rate. You could get much better value...
It's was a unique experience! The reception and the front of the hotel are the Mbweni Ruins and the rooms are at the back facing the ocean. The beach was awesome with great sunsets. Had a two twin bed room that was converted to a queen by combining the beds. However, I was charged two nights instead of one night: Checked in on !st August (paid 100$ cash plus 178.00 through ATM for two rooms at $85) and checked out on 2nd August As per transaction below: Please assist with a reimbersument: Share your email address for details.
It is really having a peaceful, quiet atmosphere, truely home away from home. Their services are great and the staffs are really calm and you can sense that they are experienced and respectful. I loved my stay over this Hotel
The good: The room (king size bed) I was in was spacious and comfortable and had all the services (refrigerator, toilet, wardrobes.. Etc) were provided and operational
The bad: the internet connection is free BUT the system for connecting is annoying (you have a single use user and pass and you have to try every combination until you reach one that connects you)

Pretty average. I don't know if it's good for the price because it was booked by our safari group, but it has all that you need. The AC is excellent, there's American movie channels. The wifi was slow at times but overall fine. The shower pressure was average, didn't get too hot when I took one. We were able to check in a little early though.
While the hotel's opulence came at a premium, the breakfast experience fell disappointingly short and my wife did not mince her words about it to the staff and management, leaving much to be desired. A stark contrast to the luxurious setting and relatively good rooms, the morning offerings were surprisingly subpar, diminishing the overall satisfaction of the stay!
