Smile Beach Resort in Haad Yao

Very reasonably priced accomodation within a five minute walk to the wonderful salad beach.

A complimentary basic breakfast is offered here which was a great surprise to us.

Fan bungalow was basic, clean and just what we wanted. Lovely little porch and some great shared chill out areas.

The staff are delightful. If we are ever back on the island I hope we come here again

Very high standard of rooms and a very fun place. Very fun to be so close to the quiet sea, hearing the wind, the birds, blue water, blue sky. You don't need more than that in life.

We stayed here last month, had a great time here! The bungalows were clean, comfortable - basic but great for the price! Hammocks outside every bungalow. We enjoyed the pool with shaded areas to chill during the day to escape sun. Free water refills. Breakfast was nice, coffee tea bread and fruit. You can rent a scooter from the resort. Away from the party towns. The beach was nice N chill just a few minutes walk away. Sat on the beach at night with a fire after a swim - gorgeous. A very relaxing stay, loved this place :) thank you for a lovely stay

For the price it has been a great stay and I highly recommend. We stayed in the Standard Bungalow for 5 nights, and without aircon we thought it was going to be nightmare fuel but the fans were enough and almost the perfect temperature to just lay down and chill after a swim at the beach which is 200m down the track or the pool in the resort which was actually quite nice. Overall a great room nice with wooden panels, good temperature, comfy bed great fridge for 7/11 snacks to be stocked up and a balcony with benches and a hammock. Only thing is the shower head and placement was kinda strange but if that’s all there is to complain about for 14usd a night then it’s perfect not to mention free breakfast and coffee in the mornings if you want.

It is quiet there, no Party. This was Amazing as the City is by Scooter Not far away.

Really cute individual bungalows, not even 5 min walk to a beautiful beach. Peaceful, bungalows are basic but clean and very comfortable. We had a room with great AC, comfortable beds and clean pool. Toast and coffee/ tea is provided each morning at reception but lots of options for breakfast around also. We got some amazing sunset views from Haad salad beach.

I had a really peaceful and comfortable stay. My priorities are quiet and privacy, which I had both of. The setting is beautiful in well tended gardens. The staff/owners were really kind and pleasant throughout my stay and I got a welcoming and friendly feel from them and a nice greeting every time, which was nice. They are always ready to help too. Rooms were simple and clean, which is exactly what I'm looking for. Appreciated the breakfast fruits and tea, these are nice additions. Overall a lovely stay.

I just returned from my second one month stay at Haad Salad Resort. I absolutely love this place-The hosts, villas, community, location and vibes just right-so sweet, welcoming, safe and beautiful. The villa I stayed in was a studio with private bath, comfortable bed, mini fridge and vanity, and a great porch/deck with hammock, table and chairs. Very simple, yet all I needed. The rooms and property are well cared for and clean.

The resort hostess, Deer is an absolute angel. She is wonderful, personable, helpful and so compassionate. We all fell in love with her. The other staff are also so kind and lovely. It has an authentic Thai family feel.

Fruit and toast are offered in the morning, as well as hot water for tea and filtered drinking water. There is a common area for cooking occasional meals, but this is not necessary since there are so many wonderful and affordable options for food at local restaurants. The walk to the beach is a short 3 minutes through gorgeous tropical trees and flowering plants. And the sea is absolutely beautiful...sparkling, refreshing. The beach activity can get lively at mid day and at night, but is really sweet. Guests on the strip include international families and other single and paired travelers, all very friendly.

I would recommend Haad Salad Resort to anyone who appreciates the simple pleasure of a rich jungle orchestra of insects and birds, (instead of the buzz of air conditioning), and is satisfied with a simple, clean space to rest at night while enjoying the magic of the Island by day.

I loved my stay at the resort a lot. The staff is very friendly, they offer water, coffee, tea and fresh fruits in the morning and there's also a lundry service which is pretty fast (1day) but they lost one shirt.
The rooms are great and the beds are very comfortable, the resort is very calming and feels very private for everyone who wants to take a break. there's also a pool that can be used all day long. Beach and tiny shop for drinks/snacks near by.

Lovely reception who was very helpful our entire time.

My partner and I stayed for 4/5 nights in the end of June. We were met with such hospitality- from renting their motorbikes to booking early transport back to Thong Sala Pier, the staff were incredibly lovely. Definitely made our 6 week journey feel “more at home” and made this island one of our favorite places we’ve traveled to!
