Reviews
I don’t think you can even call this place a hotel when they ask for extra money when you want an extra blanket/pillow/towel. Also during checkout they showed me a towel from the first night that had a small stain (an inch long black mark) and wanted me to pay a 1200 baht fine which is ridiculous since a new one cost much less but what kind of 4 star hotel does this that they keep the towel to show you at checkout. Very absurd behavior and this isn’t even everything that happened. The electricity stopped working in my room and the reception simple said “There are people who live without electricity” yes well I paid money to have electricity. Just ongoing absurd behavior. Extremely regret staying there and don’t understand why someone would want to
As avid travelers who have been fortunate enough to explore many destinations, including Koh Phangan eight times, we can confidently say that this was one of our most memorable experiences.
For the first time, we spent eight blissful days at Summer Resort, and what a fantastic choice it turned out to be!
From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the manager and reception staff, who took the time to explain everything about our accommodation in detail.
We were pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to a stunning room that exceeded all our expectations.
Summer Resort is a perfectly sized complex, nestled in the heart of lush tropical gardens filled with vibrant flowers
The swimming pool is the largest we’ve ever seen, offering ample space for everyone to relax, enjoy a meal, or sip on delicious cocktails.
Our room was impeccably cleaned every day, and the housekeeping team made us feel right at home with their attention to detail.
The breakfast spread was exceptional, offering a wide variety of dishes to cater to all tastes and nationalities.
For romantic evenings, the on-site restaurant was the perfect spot, and we must extend our heartfelt thanks to the chef JAMES for the consistently delicious meals.
The resort’s central location on the island made it incredibly convenient to explore all corners of Koh Phangan.
As for the roads that many people complain about—if you’ve been to Thailand before, you’ll know these are typical and something you quickly adapt to.
We traveled the road 2-3 times a day on a scooter with two people, and it only took us about four minutes each time.
So, don’t let that deter you—just enjoy your holiday!
We’d like to extend our deepest gratitude to the entire staff at Summer Resort.
While we can’t mention everyone by name, each team member went above and beyond to make our stay as perfect as possible.
The rooms are spotless, the atmosphere is serene, and the overall experience was nothing short of exceptional. We highly recommend trying the spa for ultimate relaxation.
Thank you, Summer Resort, for making our holiday truly unforgettable.
We couldn’t have asked for more, and we will definitely be back!
Warm regards,
Carla & Christelle
• The location: With a scooter, you can quickly reach lively areas.
• The pool area is pleasant, never too crowded, and the water is beautiful.
• The room is very spacious, as well as the bathroom.
Negative points:
• The bedding: For a four-star hotel, the mattresses are as hard as a board, and you can feel the springs through them.
• Access to the hotel: The road is in terrible condition, and it can be very dangerous with a scooter. Why hasn’t anything been done to even out this path?
• Reception: Most of the staff were very kind, but the person who seems to be the manager is not friendly at all, and every request seems to irritate her.
The only things you need to watch out for are Friday night parties from a nearby beach club - you cannot get away from the loud house music which doesn't end until late in the night. Not something that staff has control over, obviously, but do bear in mind.
And the road to the hotel needs to be fixed asap - way too many holes and humps there, certainly a difficult one for bikes to get through, which gets dangerous after rains.
The worst thing about the room was the bad, I leatrely slept on the springs, and I felt the metal frame of the mattres in my back. That was the worst bad I had in Thailand.
And the odor of the essence they had put was unbearable.
It is not a 5 star hotel, more like 2 or 3.
as you enter the room there is already a document listing the price for every damage that will be found in the room after you leave - even a stain on the towel. This information is very negative and I did not feel welcomed.
the room is big and nice, but the mattress wasn't comfortable at all.
My experience in this hotel was bad mostly because of the staff. most of them doesn't know English, only 1 receptionist knows English. I've asked for simple questions like - where can I find change? Can you order a taxi and they were struggling to do so.
on the evening for checking out I have ordered and paid for a taxi and a ferry ticket from a receptionist that didn't have very good English and it looked like it was his first time doing it.
In the morning after I did check out with the receptionist that knows English. My taxi was waiting and apparently I didn't have the copy of the receipt for my ferry ticket. I am convinced the receptionist from the night before didn't give it to me! I told the current receptionist I didn't get it and he didn't believe me. I checked all my pockets and bags and even went back to the room to look it up and it was not there. The current receptionist was not helpful, did not offer any solution and was very rude to me after I told him I didn't get it and if he can check their internal records.
At the end, the taxi driver, which have nothing to do with the hotel, was the one that helped me. he drove fast and talked with the ferry staff and was a big help.
I was very disappointed from this attitude which was un helpful, unpleasant and rude. 0 starts for hospatility.
It is very surprising as it is a 4-star hotel, and I've recived bettet treatment from staff in hostels I stayed in the past
I will not recommend to anyone on this hotel.
positive:
the hotel facilities are indeed beautiful and the pool was great.
The restaurant serves a lot of western food but the Thai menu is small yet very, very nice.
(there is a restaurant called ‘Three Families’ across the road that is a proper Thai family business that serves proper meals at a cheaper price, definitely recommend trying at least once).
The only thing I would say is a letdown is the road leading to it; it’s almost made of mud and sometimes there is a bad smell from the mangrove that it is located next to, however you cannot smell it from the hotel itself - only when walking through the main entry road.
This is a lovely place and 100% I would come again, and it’s a shame about the poor reviews.
