Phangan Beach Resort in Baan Tai

left feeling pretty disappointed. we waited around an hour for our food (despite the restaurant being empty) and we thought the prices were good until we realised the portion sizes are ridiculously small. the ‘english cumberland sausages’ are not cumberland sausages at all but skinny chipolatas, and i thought the pie was a good size at first glance but i cut into it and it was mostly hollow with the tiniest bit of filling at the bottom. keep in mind neither the bangers and mash or the beef pie came with any veggies so we had to pay extra for peas. still tiny portions with the peas. the pie also didn’t come with gravy but did come with bread to make it even more dry.

The only saving grace to this hotel is the location, as the beach is gorgeous.

We opted for a basic bungalow however it didnt not meet our needs. The check in process was slow and we were treated like children from the beginning. This included the fact that booking.com stated all charges were included but this hotel added on their own bank charges.

For what appears to be a successful hotel they took no care in the basic bungalows (our shutter style glass windows did not open/close) or the approach to the hotel (the road is in terrible repair and there is a lot of rubbish, the hotel has a lot of staff that clean the little paths and gardens within the "resort" which could assist in this matter).

The staff were quite dismissive especially when we questioned the new charges (their banking fees for using a card) etc.

Additionally unlike most places in Thailand they did not seem to want to help guests in booking tours, transfers etc.
